Abstract

The background of this research problem, starting from the still low ability of mathematical communication and the activity of high school students. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of mathematical communication ability and activity of class X students of SMA Muhamadiyah 1 Cimahi. Design Research conducted a classroom study using John Elliot's model. The research flow has two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, execution, observation and reflection. The result of this research is that there is improvement of mathematical communication ability and activeness by applying problem posing approach on learning mathematics about SPLTV in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Cimahi class X, for the improvement of mathematical communication ability viewed based on percentage of students whose value is below KKM, equal to KKM, and above the KKM sequentially respectively by 9.68%, 54.84%, and 96.77%. To increase student activeness can be seen based on percentage of students who have active active value and very active in cycle I and cycle II, respectively equal to 35,48% and 93,54%.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a learning model for writing short story texts (short stories) based on a metacognitive approach for junior high school students. The research method used is research on the development of the Sugiyono development model. The research procedure uses the following stages: 1) potential problems, 2) collecting information and literature study, 3) product design, 4) design validation, 5). design improvements, 6) product trials, 7) product revisions, 8) usage trials, 9) product revisions, and 10) mass product manufacture. The population of this study was class VIII students of one of the junior high schools in West Bandung Regency with a purposive sample of 34 people. Research data includes test and non-test data. The results showed that the learning model for writing short stories based on a metacognitive approach was valid to be applied in learning and was proven to be effective in improving the ability to write short stories for junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to get results description of application of problem based learning approach in an effort to enhance student learning outcomes as well as knowing the increase in mathematical problem solving ability grade VII MTs on comparison of material and scale. The methods used in this research in the research conducted through two cycles of activity, and each cycles as much as 2 meeting. The subjek of this research is the teacher and all students of classes VII-B of 30 people. The object of this research are mathematical problem solving ability of students and the analysis undertaken aiming to find out the types of difficulties, hardships, cause factors and how the students in difficulty against handling problem solving math.

Abstract

This study is a quasi experimental research, which aims to examine the achievement and improvement of communication skills and creative thinking and mathematical disposition of high school students through an exploratory approach. The sample consists of 2 classes amounting to 68 students of class XI one high school in West Bandung. Instruments in this study are each set of test description of the ability of mathematical communication, and a set of mathematical disposition scale. The study found that the achievement of mathematical communication ability of high school students who received learning with exploratory approach is better than those who received regular learning reviewed in whole and the students' early mathematical ability. Likewise, the improvement of mathematical communication ability of high school students who received learning with better exploration approach than those who received regular learning reviewed in whole and early mathematical ability of their students. However, there was no interaction between the exploration approach and the students' early mathematical ability that resulted in communication skills and mathematical disposition students. For the achievement of mathematical disposition ability of students whose learning using exploratory approach is better than students with ordinary learning reviewed overall and early mathematical ability, but there is no interaction of exploration approach and KAM that resulted in mathematical disposition of students. Besides, there is also a considerable relation between communication ability and mathematical disposition of students.

Abstract

This article is derived from the research result entitled “The Application of Problem Solving Approach in Improving Junior High School Students’ Mathematical Communication and Disposition Skill”. The research is purposed to see and analyze if there are some improvements in mathematical communication and disposition skill achievement of the students who have been treated using problem solving approach compared to the students who are still treated using conventional approach. The population of the research is all students at a junior high school in Subang regency. Out of these students,  40 students of class VIII D were chosen randomly as the experiment class, and 41 students of class VIII C have also been randomly chosen as the control class. The data in this research have then been analyzed using parametric and non-parametric statistic. The result of this analysis has shown that the achievement of experiment class students’ mathematical communication and disposition skill is better than the achievement of the control class students. The experiment class students’ mathematical disposition is also better than those of the control class. Lastly, the result also shows that there is some kind of correlation between the mathematical communication and mathematical disposition on the level of medium.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertjuan untuk menelaah bagaimana hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir kreatifmatematis dengan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran yang menggunakan pendekatanCreative Problem Solving (CPS). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasieksperimen, dengan cara mengambil dua kelas yang berbeda, kemudian kelas pertamamendapatkan pembelajaran dengan CPS dan kelas kedua menggunakan pembelajaran biasa.Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa SMP di Kota Cimahi, dengan sampel diambil dua kelas. Keduakelas diberi pretes agar mengetahui kemampuan awal mereka, selanjutnya kelas eksperimendiberi pembelajaran dengan CPS dan kelas kontrol diberi pembeljaran biasa, dan terakhir keduakelas diberikan postes dan angket motivasi belajar yang mana data tersebut akan diolah dandianalisis korelasinya menggunakan Product Moment Person. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanyahubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kretif matematis dan motivasi belajar siswadalam pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa antara yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan metakognitif dengan pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari Habits of Mind (HOM). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program studi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP Siliwangi Bandung, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih dua kelas Angkatan 2017 dari 4 kelas yang ada. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah berbentuk tes yang berupa soal uraian sebanyak 5 soal, dan non tes berupa angket skala likert dengan 32 pernyataan. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan uji anova dua jalur menggunakan SPSS. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data didapat hasil terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran metakognitif terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa, terdapat pengaruh Habits of Mind terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa dan tidak terdapat interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran metakognitif dan Habits of Minds terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menelaah efektivitas Strategi REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP Negeri di kota Cimahi, sedakan sampelnya diambil satu kelas dari salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Cimahi. Instrumen dalam penlitian ini berupa tes dengan bentuk soal uraian sebanyak 5 soal dan non tes berbentuk skla Likert dengan empat option jawaban. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan uji one sample t-test dengan menggunakan SPPS versi 24. Hasil penelitaian ini menunjukakn bahwa strategi pembelajaran REACT efektif terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis dan self–efficacy siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine in depth about student’s mathematics understanding ability influenced by self-confidence. The study was designed in the form of experiment using correlational method with quantitative appoach. The population in this research is junior high school student in Cimahi and the sample as many as 28 people determined by purposive sampling technique in one of junior high school in Cimahi. The instrument in the research is the test of mathematics understanding ability as much as 5 items and the scale of student’s self-confidence as much as 36 scale statment. Based on the results and discussion, it is concluded that the students’ mathematics understanding ability influenced positively by self-confidence equal to 74,6%, whilw 25,4% influenced by factors other than student self-confidence.

Abstract

The low creative thinking of junior high school students and the lack of use of ICT-based learning media are problems in this study. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of scientific learning with the help of VBA Excel in students' creative thinking. The experimental method is the method used in this study with a Non Equivalent Control Group Design, the samples were taken from two classes in one junior high school in the city of Cimahi. The instrument used is in the form of a creative thinking ability test, which consists of 5 questions. The results in this study conclude that scientific learning with the help of VBA Excel is more effective than ordinary learning in terms of creative thinking skills.
