Abstract

Coconut is a versatile plant and almost all parts of coconut can be utilized by humans. In the processing of coconut fruit, namely stripping, decomposition and sieving, but in the stripping process there are still many uses manually. Therefore, coconut husk peeler is made. This machine can facilitate the stripping of coconut fiber to separate it from the coconut shell. The working principle of this machine is to use knives that are located in the shaft and connected to the motor as a driver by using electric power. The way to do it is that the coconut that has been taken from the tree that is ready to be peeled is placed on the shaft, pressed using a lever to the shaft that has a knife, then the shaft will rotate and the knife will pull the coconut fiber. For the smooth use of coconut coir peeler, proper and efficient maintenance planning is needed so that the engine can run continuously, where the engine components that are treated are shaft, motor, gear, pully and belt. In planned care includes daily, weekly and monthly care. So care must be done well and optimally in order to get good treatment results

Abstract

The design of this Vacuum and Packaging Machine is made in order to increase the sale value and service life for processed Oyster Mushroom products. Not only that, this machine can do packaging in a short time and efficiently. This machine consists of Frame, Vacuum Motor, Impulse Sealer, Vacuum Clamp. This Vacuum and Packaging Machine has dimensions of length 700 mm x width 500 mm x height 700 mm. The impulse sealer used is Arashi Ais 400 type by using a VE115N 2 CFM type vacuum motor. From this vacuum motor will later be connected to the vacuum clamp as a tool to clamp the packaging during the process of vacuuming the air in the package. This machine is equipped with a limit switch on the vacuum clamp that works to connect the current to the vacuum motor so that the vacuum motor automatically turns on. The operation of this vacuum and packaging machine is quite simple by inserting the packaging containing the product into the sealer and at the end of the package clamped on the vacuum clamp, the vacuum motor will automatically turn on, the next step is to operate the impulse sealer so that the product is finished packed under vacuum. From the design results, the bending stress of the frame is 3.172 N / mm2, the working time of the vacuum and sealer is 1.54 s per package, and the estimated price of the machine is Rp. 1,879,000

Abstract

In this paper, the quality and quantity of sliced cassava chips are improved by design a new slicer machine. The strategy of increasing production capacity is by using an electric motor to drive a chopper blade that makes the faster cutting speed. Meanwhile, the blade is attached to affixed shaft to ensure an even cut. The machine is mainly composed of frame, the feed inlet, chopper blade, motor, v-belt and pulley as transmission part. The slicer machine operates in the following ways: a peeled cassava is pressed into the feed inlet, then the high speed rotating cutter will cut the material into slices, finally the slices drops from the outlet. A fabrication of the machine starts with 1. design technical drawings of the slicer machine using Catia V5R21, 2. manufacturing the frame, shaft, feed inlet and outlet, 3. assembly of all components such as: chopper, bearings, shaft, pulley, feed inlet, cover, motor 1,25 hp 1400 rpm and v-belts. The results of performance test of the slicer machine have actual capacity is 40 Kg/hour with a flatness of 3-4 mm.
