Abstract

Abstract This research aimed at knowing whether there was a correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement. It was a correlational research. Collecting the data was done through learning style questionnaire, cognitive learning achievement test, and documentation. The subjects of this research were the students at Senior High School of Tri Bhakti Pekanbaru, and the object was the correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement on Chemical Equilibrium lesson. The samples were the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science that were 40 students. Total sampling technique was used in this research. The data were processed and analyzed by using Pearson product moment correlational test formula. Based on the research findings and data analyses, Sig. (2-tailed) score between students’ learning style and their learning achievement was 0.001 and it was lower than 0.05 (0.001<0.05), it meant that there was a positive correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement. The score of robserved of the correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement was 0.498 and it was higher than rtable 0.312 at 5% significant level (0.498>0.312), so it could be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected (there was a correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement). The majority of the students had visual learning style type with 58% percentage, the percentage of students having auditory learning style was 27%, and the percentage of students having kinesthetic learning style was 15%. If these results were interpreted to the guideline table, the score 0.498 was between 0.40 and 0.70, and it meant that the correlation between students’ learning style and their learning achievement was medium or enough.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the utilization of the waste of Pinang Fruit peel as a biosorbent which function to process Pb (II) from contaminated water. The result showed that the absorbtion ability of Pb (II) was strongly influenced by the acidity of solution, contact duration and the initial concentration of the Pb (II) solution. The maximum absorbtion was 92,50% at pH 6, initial concentration of 50 ppm in 75 minutes contact time. FTIR spectral data indicated the presence of  amina, alcohol and carbonil groups. Isotherm Langmuir was at the maximum absorbtion of 0,877 mg/g.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu, yang dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran kimia. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dengan media audio visual terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Hidrokarbon di SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. Desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan pretest dan posttest. Teknik simple random sampling digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan siswa kelas sebelas MIA 2 (kelompok eksperimen) dan 3 (kelompok kontrol). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, tes data awal berupa tes homogenitas, tes data akhir berupa pretest dan posttest, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan thitung sebesar 3,61 dan ttabel 1,669. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih tinggi dari ttabel, sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Abstract

This Research aimed at identifying student misconception on Redox Reaction lesson at the tenth grade of State Vocational High School 5 Pekanbaru. It was Descriptive. Purposive sampling technique was used, and the sample were the tenth grade students of class TAV 2. Multiple choice with reasoning diagnostic test with CRI (Certainty of Response Index) column was the instrument used. Based on the research findings, it showed that there was a student misconception on Redox Reaction lesson. Sub concept was the highest misconception. The concept development of Redox Reaction lesson was 22.23%, sub concept of oxidation number was 19.05%, and sub concept of reducing and oxidation agents was 12.7%. Misconception happened because of the learning method that was teacher center, the lack of textbook reference, and the low of student learning interest. Based on the data analysis, it revealed that CRI was effective to be used to identify student misconception. Abstract

[Analysis of Critical Thinking Skills in High School Students Using Inquiry Pictorial Riddle Model] Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam lima indikator berpikir kritis setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Inquiry Pictorial Riddle. Jenis penelitian yang yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah The One Shot Case Study. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model pembelajaran Inquiry Pictorial Riddle pada kelima sub indikator berfikir kritis memiliki presentase yang bervariasi. Pencapaian indikator berpikir kritis pada sub indikator menjawab soal klarifikasi dan menantang memiliki persentase 82.98% (sangat baik), sub indikator berpikir kritis mempertimbangkan kredibilitas suatu sumber memiliki persentase 76,38% (baik), sub indikator membuat induksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi memperoleh persentase 70,83% (baik), sub indikator mengidentifikasi asumsi memiliki persentase 69,09% (baik) dan sub indikator memutuskan suatu tindakan memiliki persentase 62,50% (baik). Sehingga diperoleh rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu 72,36% dengan kategori baik.

Abstract

[Development of Performance Assessment Instruments for Measuring Student Psychomotor Ability on The Reaction Rate Practicum] Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain instrumen penilaian kinerja dan uji coba penggunaan instrumen penilaian kinerja dalam mengukur kemampuan psikomotorik siswa pada parktikum laju reaksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu mixed methods research dengan desain penelitian sekuensial eksploratori. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara bertahap (sekuensial) dimana peneliti terlebih dahulu memulai dengan mengeksplorasi data kualitatif dan menganalisisnya kemudian mengggunakan temuan pada fase kualitatif untuk mengembangkan instrumen dan menganalisis nya secara kuantitatif di kelas XI SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. Instrumen yang dihasilkan dapat digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat psikomotorik siswa pada saat melakukan praktikum laju reaksi. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian didapatkan hasil kemampuan psikomotorik siswa berdasarkan indikator sebesar 78,27 % dengan kriteria baik. Hasil penelitian dari angket respon pengguna menunjukkan bahwa aspek materi dan konstruksi mendapatkan persentase tertinggi yaitu sebesar 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Kemudian diikuti oleh aspek bahasa yang mendapatkan persentase 92% dengan kategori sangat baik juga. Secara keseluruhan, rata-rata persentase angket respon pengguna yakni 97,33% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian kinerja yang dikembangkan peneliti sangat baik dalam mengukur kemampuan psikomotorik siswa pada pokok bahasan laju reaksi dan dapat digunakan oleh guru sebagai instrumen alternatif untuk mengukur kemampuan psikomotorik siswa dalam kegiatan praktikum.
