Abstract

The background of this study is the low value of students in science subjects. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Make A Match cooperative learning model to the learning outcomes of the fifth grade science students at Muhammadiyah Elemantary School of Karangploso. This research is quasi-experimental, with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The population is  all of fifth grade students which is  consisted of two classes with a total of students are 66 students. The data collection techniques for students' cognitive learning outcomes used test method. Initial data analysis used the normality test and homogeneity test. While the final data analysis used paired sample t-test.The results of this research are, the results obtained an average pretest value of 56,67 and an average posttest value of 74,04 with Std. Pretest deviation = 7,217 and Std. Posttest deviation = 8,770. The results of t-test calculations helped by using SPSS 23 with α = 0,05 and get the results that the value of sig. (2-tailed) 0,00 <0,05 and tcount = -10,514 with df which is 32 which means that ttable = 2,036. Tcount is negative because between the pretest and posttest values have quite a large differences, and in the cases like this, the negative value will be change to a positive value. This showed that tcount> ttable, then H1 is accepted or learning with Make A Match method is effective against student learning outcomes in science subjects in V class, with an average posttest score for the experimental class of 74,04.

Abstract

Currently there is still a need for the development of teaching materials and no electronic LKPD has been found with a project-based STEM approach on energy materials and their utilization. The purpose of this study was to develop and determine the feasibility of electronic LKPD with a PjBL-based STEM approach on energy materials and their utilization. The research method used was RnD research with a development procedure that refered to the ADDIE development model. However, this research was only up to the development stage. The experimental subjects consisted of expert and test subjects, namely learning, material, language, media and teacher experts. The types of data were qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from the results of expert and teacher reviews in the form of suggestions, input, and comments. Meanwhile, quantitative data were obtained from the scores on the assessment sheet. Data collection instruments used assessment sheets and interviews. The product trial used the developed electronic LKPD and assessment sheet. The results of the development showed that the final score of the learning experts was 86.7 that belonged to the very good category, the material expert got 86.7 in the very good category, the linguist got 91.4 in the very good category, the media expert got 78.9 in the good category, teacher I and teacher II obtained final grades of 97.5 and 88.7, that belonged to the very good categories. If it was calculated as a whole, the final score of 531 was included in the very good category. Therefore, the development of electronic LKPD with a PjBL-based STEM approach on energy materials and their utilization was appropriate to be used as teaching materials in class IV for theme 2 sub-theme 1.

Abstract

Background: Higher order thinking skills (HOTS) are crucial for students to face the 21st century development. This study aimed to determine higher order thinking skills of the fifth graders at Muhammadiyah elementary school in Demangan and Baitussalam II Islamic elementary school in solving questions on human and animal respiratory organs.Method: A descriptive quantitative approach was employed. It included survey and ex-post factor designs. The research data were collected using tests.Result: The participants of the study achieved medium scores on three categories of HOTS. Thirty nine percent of Ibnu Thufail fifth graders achieved a medium score on judgement and critical thinking, 48% of Ibnu Rusdy fifth graders obtained a medium score on similar category, and 42% of the Muhammadiyah fifth graders got low scores on judgement and critical thinking. Meanwhile in problem-solving, 43% students were in medium category, 39% in low category, and 32% in medium category. Forty eight percent of the students obtained medium scores and 52% achieved poor scores.Implications: The research findings imply that students’ HOTS in natural science need to be improved. Novelty: The present study revealed students’ HOTS based on judgment and critical thinking, problem solving, logic and reasoning skills.

Abstract

Abstrak: Limbah ternak sapi yang dihasilkan di kelompok ternak Wiro Lembu Lemu, Wiyoro, Bantul, Yogyakarta sebesar 200 kg per hari. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok ternak adalah kurangnya pengetahuan tentang metode pengelolaan kotoran sapi. Oleh karena itu, program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan cara mengolah kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik melalui proses pengomposan. Metode yang diterapkan yaitu sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos secara langsung kepada mitra yang terdiri dari 10 peserta selama 3 hari. Proses pengomposan dilakukan selama tiga minggu. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta memahami teknik pengolahan pupuk kompos dari kotoran sapi yang ditunjukkan dengan persentase capaian sebelum pelatihan 60% dan setelah pelatihan 80%.Abstract:  Rancher group of Wiro Lembu Lemu Wiyoro, Bantul, Yogyakarta produced 200 kg of cattle dung per day. The lack of knowledge in handling methods of livestock waste becomes a major problem for the ranchers. Therefore, the program aims to provide the training of processing cattle waste into organic fertilizer through the composting process. Methods of this program consisted of socialization and training on compost manufacturing directly to partners. Ten participants attended in this program. The composting process was carried out for three weeks. The result of this program showed that participants were able to understand the technique of compost production from cattle waste as indicated by the percentage of achievement before training of 60% and after training of 80%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan mengajar mahasiswa PGSDUAD pada perkuliahan microteaching tahun 2016/2017. Kemampuan mengajarmahasiswa yang dinilai yaitu kemampuan pada saat melakukan microteaching yangterbagi menjadi kemampuan melakukan pendahuluan, inti, dan penutup. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek dari penelitianini adalah 15 mahasiswa PGSD UAD semester VI (enam) kelas G1 pada mata kuliahpengajaran mikro. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan lembar penilaian praktikpengajaran. Ada lima kategori penilaian pada praktik pengajaran yaitu semua kriteriapenilaian tidak muncul, kurang baik, cukup baik, baik, dan sangat baik. Presentase yangdituliskan pada hasil analisis ini adalah yang pada kriteria “baik”. Hasil dari penelitianini yaitu 1) Pada kegiatan pendahuluan, point apersepsi dan motivasi 66,67 % beradapada kategori baik, point menyampaikan kompetensi dan rencana kegiatan ada 80 %;2) pada kegiatan inti, point penguasaan materi pembelajaran 73,33 %, point penerapanstrategi pembelajaran yang mendidik ada 73,33 %, point penerapan pendekatan scientificada 80 %, point pemanfaatan sumber belajar 73,33 %, 3) pada kegiatan penutup, pointmelakukan refleksi atau membuat rangkuman dengan melibatkan peserta didik ada 86,67%, point memberikan tes lisan atau tulisan 86,67 %, point mengumpulkan hasil kerjasebagai bahan portofolio 53,33 %, point melaksanakan tindak lanjut dengan memberikanarahan kegiatan berikutnya 86,67 % berada pada kategori baik.Kata kunci: analisis kemampuan mengajar, mahasiswa PGSD UAD, pengajaran mikro

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta dilapangan yaitu terbatasnya bahan ajar tematik, selain itu pendidikan lingkungan hidup belum terintegrasi secara maksimal pada pembelajaran tematik. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan modul tematik berbasis pendidikan lingkungan hidup subtema manfaat energi untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui kualitas modul tematik berbasis pendidikan lingkungan hidup subtema manfaat energi untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar dari para ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan Research and Develompent (RnD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa lembar penilaian produk dan angket respon peserta didik, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif dan analisis data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penelitian dan pengembangan telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analiysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Hasil penilaian dari ahli media dengan nilai 95 termasuk kategori “Baik Sekali”, ahli materi dengan nilai 90 termasuk kategori “Baik Sekali”, ahli pembelajaran dengan nilai 89,09 termasuk kategori “Baik Sekali”. Dari hasil penilaian oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli pembelajaran secara keseluruhan mendapatkan nilai 91,36 dengan kategori baik sekali. Dari hasil uji coba kelompok kecil dan kelompok besar secara keseluruhan mendapatkan nilai 94,55 dengan kategori baik sekali. Seluruh penilaian dari para ahli media, ahli materi, ahli pembelajaran, uji coba kelompok kecil, dan uji coba kelompok besar jika dicari rata-rata mendapatkan nilai 93,18 dengan kategori baik sekali. Berdasarkan nilai tersebut, modul tematik berbasis pendidikan lingkungan hidup subtema manfaat energi untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar memiliki kualitas sebagai bahan ajar. Nilai rata-rata seluruh penilaian jika dikonverensikan dan disimpulkan pada kategori “Baik Sekali.”

Abstract

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: THE UTILIZING OF TOFU LIQUID WASTE INTO BIOGAS AT TOFU INDUSTRY OF PAK MIN, JOMBLANGAN, BANGUNTAPAN, YOGYAKARTA. The industry tofu of Pak Min is a home industry with four employees which produces 200 kg of tofu every day and generates 50 kg of liquid wastes per day. The problem that is faced by the industrial owner is the lack of knowledge in handling liquid wastes. The disposal of waste is only discharged into a river which results in buildup of liquid paddles on the ground surface and environmental pollution. Therefore, the objectives of this program were to socialize the hazard and management process of tofu waste and to provide the training to convert tofu liquid waste into biogas.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the integration of metacognition in online science education for college students and tested the feasibility of the learning model on students’ high order thinking skills (HOTS). The analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) model was employed in this study. A needs analysis was conducted through interviews and questionnaire surveys to 21 science lecturers from primary school teacher education study programs at seven state universities and 14 private universities in Indonesia. In the development phase, the effectiveness of the model was examined through an experimental study involving three groups of students: experimental group (41 students), control group 1 (39 students), and control group 2 (39 students). The experimental study was performed using the randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. The research hypothesis was investigated using a general linear model and multivariate analysis of variance. Through awareness-building, essential questioning, planning, monitoring, evaluating, and reflecting, this study successfully integrated metacognition into online science education. The model's learning syntax incorporated both synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Virtual and contextual projects are critical components of this approach because they demonstrate how metacognition is regulated. Expert judgment indicated that the model under development was highly feasible. The experimental study established that the learning model had a considerable effect on students’ HOTS, which rose by 75% (a large effect) due to the model’s implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of parenting education programs among teachers and parents in education units that intend to improve children’s cognitive development. This research uses more descriptive qualitative research. They conducted this research in TK LKMD Catur Tunggal Piyungan with the research source of principals, teachers, and parents. The research data were obtained from interviews using the Google Form or WA application and also document studies. The study results explain that the application of parenting education can improve the cognitive development of early childhood. This is because 1) parents get knowledge related to STPPA or Childhood Development Achievement Level Standard so that the treatment of parents in conducting learning assistance is more conditioned. 2) parents get a way to do learning to children to assist children well, and children get a good stimulus in improving cognitive development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh hasil belajar peserta didik yang rendah dan guru masih mengunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan memberikan tugas. Terlihat pada hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas IV semester genap tahun ajaran 2018/2019 menunjukan nilai rata-rata masih banyak yang belum mencapai KKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pelajaran IPA melalui metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing pada siswa kelas IV SD Darul Quran Sragen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas atau PTK. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriftif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa peserta didik IV SD Darul Quran berjumlah 27 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil ketuntasan nilai tes pratindakan dengan presentase 25,92%, nilai presentase pretes siklus I 29,62%, nilai presentase posttes siklus I 44,44%, pada siklus I ketuntasan peserta didik yang mencapai KKM ≥ 70 yaitu 12 orang dan nilai ketuntasan presentase pretes pada siklus II yaitu 70,37% dan presentase posttest pada siklus II 92,59% pada siklus II ketuntasan mencapai KKM ≥ 70 yaitu 25 orang. Hasil rata-rata pada siklus I yaitu 65,92 dan siklus II yaitu 77,40. Sedangkan hasil dari presentasi observasi pada siklus I yaitu 79,41% dan pada siklus II 94,11% masing-masing siklus mencapai peningkatan. Kata kunci: model Snowball Throwing, hasil belajar, IPA
