Abstract

Inventory of finished goods needs to be planned and controlled regularly. Fulfilling customer demand whenever and wherever is the main purpose of the supply. This issue is related to production activities. Many companies use the Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) Model in determining the size of their lot productions. This model is able to show how to minimize total production costs by reducing inventory costs. Customer behavior at PT XYZ makes product delivery divided into 2 types. The first type, finished goods is sent continuously in small amounts called continue demand. The second type, products is sent between certain time intervals in large quantities called discrete demand. Basic EPQ Model’s parameters do not accommodate a system like this. In addition, PT XYZ requires rework for products that do not pass the quality test. Therefore, this research was developed to formulate EPQ model that can accommodate two types of demand, continue and discrete, as well as the existence of rework policy. This study tries to provide another approach in solving the derivation problem using the "Arithmetic-Geometric Mean" method. The results of this study will display a mathematical formulation to find the optimal production cycle time for PT XYZ. Numerical examples are discussed to show practical models.

Abstract

CV Cherry Sarana Agro is a manufacturing company, which produces agricultural machinery. In reality, company evaluatesits work and performance based on level of profits. In order to maintain the company's performance, it is necessary to measures the productivity of company to see how effective the performance of this company. So it can be determined what is needed in order to improve the performance of the company and also can increase profits. Measuring the productivity can be seen from the financial data that obtained from the company. Then based on data processing, show this company's productivity levels decreased during the period of measurement and it means company requires efforts to increase the efficient use of inputs. It is necessary for company to increase its productivity for the future. This improvement was made by taking into account the partial productivity as inputs that affect the profitability of the company on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Inventory control is a very important issue. It is because the amount of inventory will determine or affect the smoothness of the production process as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the company. PT Semen Padang is a manufacturing company that produces 10,400,000 tons of cement per year. The achievement of the cement production target at this company depends on the availability of raw materials needed in the cement production process itself. Gypsum is an additional material of the cement production process which is very important because it is a raw material that must exist in the process of making cement. So, if the inventory of gypsum cannot meet the needs of production, then the production process of cement making will be disrupted. PT Semen Padang is using the Min-Max method for inventory control. But the costs are quite high. The cost of inventory can be minimized by using another method such as EOQ (Economic Order Quantity). The conclusions of this research are in 2016 by using EOQ method, the optimal order quantity is 32,073 ton per order, and the frequency is 9 times in a year with total cost Rp. 4,757,673,813.48, and in 2017, the optimal order quantity is 34,856 tons per order and the frequency is 9 times in a year with total cost Rp. 9,694,805,608.36.

Abstract

Academic Entrepreneurship is an entrepreneurial activity conducted by scientists/academics who market their research results commercially to achieve specific economic benefits or rewards. This research focuses on academic entrepreneurship that occurs at Andalas University. There is still a lack of academics whose research products for commercialization are about 22.73%. It is because there are factors that influence academic entrepreneurship activities at  Andalas University. One of them is the internal academic factor. The internal factors are Control System, Organizational Culture, Human Resource Management System, Organizational Structure, and Academic Leadership Behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze the university's internal factors on academic entrepreneurship. This research uses a quantitative approach derived from 106 Andalas University academics with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) methods with SmartPLS Software. The result obtained in this study is that the control system exerts a positive and negative influence on academic entrepreneurship. In contrast, other factors have a significant positive influence on academic entrepreneurship.  The research results show that the university's control system, organizational structure, and human resources had no significant positive effect on academics at Andalas University. Meanwhile, entrepreneurial behavior and organizational culture have a significant positive effect on academic entrepreneurship at Andalas University. Further research should be analyzed for all universities with innovative products and are ready for commercialization throughout Indonesia. This research is still a case study and needs to be developed.

Abstract

Semakin banyaknya jumlah Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS) di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun menuntut PTS bersaing untuk memiliki sebuah kinerja dan kualitas kerja yang baik agar Perguruan Tinggi Swasta tersebut dapat bertahan dan selalu memiliki mahasiswa. Tidak terkecuali untuk Universitas Krisnadwipayana (UNKRIS) juga bersaing dengan PTS lainnya yang ada di Jakarta untuk tetap bertahan dan memiliki kualitas yang baik. Untuk itu Unkris diharuskan dapat beradaptasi, berkembang dan melakukan perbaikan melalui pembelajaran organisasi. Sehingga Unkris perlu merancang strategi peningkatan kinerja yang dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Anaytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) dan Balance Scored Card (BSC). Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, didapatkan 23 sasaran strategis, yang kemudian dirumuskan indikator kinerja (KPI) dari masing-masing sasaran strategis tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan metode Analytical Hirarchy Process (AHP) sasaran strategis yang menjadi prioritas dengan bobot paling besar, yaitu meningkatkan penerimaan fakultas dengan bobot akhir 10%. Prioritas berikutnya adalah meningkatkan jumlah dosen berpendidikan S2 dan S3 dengan jumlah bobot akhir 9%, meningkatkan alokasi dana operasional yang ditujukan untuk kegiatan Tridarma dengan bobot 8 %, kemudian untuk meningkatkan jumlah penerimaan mahasiswa dengan bobot 7%, lalu meningkatkan realisasi anggaran, dan meningkatkan IPK lulusan serta meningkatkan dukungan teknologi informasi dalam PBM dengan bobot yang didapatkan masing-masing 6%. Penetapan target dan inisiatif stretegis menjadi langkah berikutnya, dimana target setiap sasaran strategis dirumuskan untuk 3 tahun mendatang berdasarkan kondisi pada saat sekarang.

Abstract

Di dalam proses pengiriman barang efisiensi transportasi sangatlah penting, dimana dalam penelitian ini terdapat permasalahan terkait muatan beban yang tidak maksimal dan menyebabkan lebihnya penggunaan armada pengirim barang serta profit perusahaan pengguna jasa pengiriman apabila pengiriman berjalan secara terus – menerus dalam periode waktu tertentu, dalam penelitian ini dibahas bagaimana maksimalisasi beban muat digunakan. Selanjutnya permasalahan efisiensi dalam waktu proses pengiriman barang juga berdampak kepada banyaknya jumlah penggunaan armada untuk mengirim barang / produk. Pada masa kini dengan perkembangan dunia komputer maka digunakan program Promodel untuk membangun simulasi model untuk menganalisa sistem kerja pengiriman barang serta melakukan perbaikan sistem.

Abstract

In this increasingly advanced era of globalization, more and more manufacturing and service companies are developing which brings intense competition for companies to be able to maintain the company's establishment. IKM Heppy Bakery is one of the bread production companies that is experiencing this competition. For the realization of companies that can compete in the era of globalization, highly competent resources are also needed. The impact of this competition causes more work demands and causes workload effects both physically and mentally on employee performance. Based on this, a mental workload study was conducted to determine the amount of mental workload of employees using the NASA-TLX method. Based on calculations using the NASA-TLX method, it was found that the level of mental workload on bread packaging at IKM Heppy Bakery was included in the very high category with 4 workers having a very high workload category and there were also 2 workers with a high workload category. The average WWL score on bread packaging is 82. For this condition, it is deemed necessary to have an evaluation accompanied by an improvement in the work system or reward to foster motivation and enthusiasm and reduce stress for Heppy Bakery's bread packaging employees.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in the production of cables and conductors such as busbars. Busbar is a copper bar used to distribute electric power. The problem that occurs at PT. X is that there are still reject products in the busbar production The reject criteria found are as follows: bent busbar, scratched visual, oxidized visual, cracked visual during bending test. This aims of this research are to reduce the total rejects in busbar products by proposing improvements to the busbar production process using the six-sigma method. The data used in this study consisted of primary data (results of discussions with production managers, quality control managers and engineering staff and research in field) and secondary data types and total rejects within 21 months. The results of this research found that at the define stage scratched busbar and bent busbar are the dominant type of busbar that will be improved in this research. At the measure stage, the company sigma value is 3.607. This result can be used to propose quality improvement for the busbar production process whisch is obtained so that the company can reduce the number of defective products and improve product quality.
