Abstract

Many methods for dewatering of sludge, such as natural evaporate by sun or by means of equipment. Three kind methods of electroplating sludge dewatering by using equipment hare been studied, i.e : centrifugal, filter press and vacuum filter. The result shows that centrifugal has the best performance in term of reduction speed of sludge weight, moisture content of dry cake, and also time. The use of coagulant, thickener and polymerin dewatering can increase flock formation , therefore can accelerate the process. Coagulant addition is necessary in dewatering by using centrifugal method.

Abstract

Neem tree (Azadirachta indica) was found contain azadirachtion that can be used as an insecticide. Extraction of azadirachtin has been conducted in BEIK laboratory with neem seed collected from Madura and Ngawi, by using n-hexane, methanol petroleum ether and ethyl acetate as solvents. The experiment showed that n-hexane gave the best result in the extraction of neem seed from Madura, that was 20,36 °10. The neem extract then used to made Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation of insecticide. As a control, it was used neem oil from India.From the physico - chemical testing of formulation, is found that EC formulation of neem extract arc not give good result yet, compared then EC formulation that made from Indian neem oil.

Abstract

Disposal of ex-dry cell is one of some waste which is potential for environmental pollution, because dry cell containt heavy metal and other material which is characteristic toxic.This research show the impact disposal of this dry cell. Result from lechate test show that heavy metal which is contained in dry cell shall be leachate in water, moreover in acid condition.

Abstract

Obat nyamuk bakar ( ONB ) adalah suatu bentuk formulasi pestisida yang digunakan untuk memberantas nyamuk atau hama rumah lainnya. Aplikasi jenis formulasi ini adalah dengan dibakar.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan ONB dengan mutu baik sesuai dengan persyaratan mutu yang telah ditetapkan dalam Standar Industri Indonesia ( SII ).

Abstract

Tingkat pencemaran logam-logam berat dari industri ke tanah dan sungai di daerah industri sudah tidak terkendali. Untuk memulihkan tanah yang tercemar tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai  cara, salah satunya dengan cara biologi yang disebut bioremediasi. Bioremediasi dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan mikroorganisme untuk rehabilitasi lingkungan karena dapat mendegradasi atau mengubah limbah beracun menjadi tidak beracun. Beberapa jenis mikroorganisme sangat berperanan dalam bioremediasi, diantaranya adalah Pseudomonas, Bacil/us,Moraxella, Acinetobactor, Burkholderia dan Alcaligenes. Beberapa faktor yang perlu diperhatikan dalam mendesain dan mengoperasikan proses bioremediasi yang melibatkan mikroorganisme adalah seleksi dan pemilihan mikroorganisme yang sesuai dengan treatment awalnya, waktu tinggal dan waktu kontak proses, proses pemisahan dan rekoveri mikroorganisme, pembuangan mikroorganisme yang telah digunakan, dan perhitungan ekonomis dari proses bioremediasi

Abstract

The Function of stabilization is to decrease leachate or chemical reaction which is potential to produce pollutant from waste. Three kinds of stabilization such as addition of the cement, lime and organic sludge had been done before. The result showed that the sludge can bind heavy metal. Analysis result showed that the decrease 'in presentation of heavy metal are Zn (79%), Cu (83,5 %), Fe (99,97 %), Mn (JOO %) and Cr (98,2 %). This experiment is continued to find the optimum amount of cement added to the sludge. The result showed that by addition of 5 % cement in textile sludge can hold the heavy metal.

Abstract

Unused pesticide either damage pesticide from long term storage or unppropiate storage, it will be a big problem especially when it be disposed, because it will destroy the environment. For that reason, research on detoxification of damage pesticides with active ingredient monocrotophos, chlorpyriphos and profenophos using 10 % and 25 % concentration of sodium hidroxide (NaOH) and 10, 20 and 30 % concentration of lime were conducted.The result of the experiment showed that NaOH with 25 % concentration can decrease the concentration of monocrotophos, chlorpyripos and proferophos 77,5 %, 53,3 % and 91,8 % respectively. While 30 % concentration of lime decreased the concentration of monocrotophos, chlorpyripos and profenopos as 84,2 %; 46 % and 80,8 % respectively. Using of 25 % NaOH gave a better result compared then using 30 % of lime. However, from the economical point of view, lime was better.

Abstract

Controlled Rerelease Formulation is one type of Pesticide formulation which can release active ingredient slowly and continuesly in certain period of time. Release on using of there kinds of starch that are corn, cassasa and rice starch was carried autin BBIK laboratory. Xanthate and Board acid methode were used in this formulation making to entrop pesticide active ingredient such as diazinon, carbo:furan and chlorpyrifos into a matrix polimer. From the test of physico-chemical and active ingredient release rate, it was found that com starch can be used well in making of controlled release pesticide formulation while rice starch can not be used for this formulation.
