Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang indeks nilai penting dan indeks keanekaragaman jenis/spesies serta sebaran tumbuhan paku di Kawasan Hutan Lindung Desa Lam Badeuk. Pengamatan meliputi jumlah individu tiap jenis pada setiap plot sampel dan faktor fisik lingkungan berupa suhu udara, kelembaban dan intensitas cahaya. Diperoleh 15 spesies tumbuhan paku yang terdiri dari 11 genus, 7 famili, 2 ordo, dan 1 kelas. Dari jumlah tersebut, 9 spesies merupakan pakis terestrial dan 6 spesies paku epifit. Indeks keanekaragaman menunjukkan tingkat keanekaragaman yang tergolong sedang yaitu 1,79 di perbukitan dan 1,12 di bagian pantai.

Abstract

N-hexane extracts of the bark from black plum(Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels) showed activity againtSalmonella typhi. Meanwhile,  the result showed that N-hexane was not able to inhibit the  growth of Candida sp. The research was done at Microbiology laboratory, Biology Department Faculty of Mathemathics andScience,  Syiah Kuala University. The bark of black plum were collected from Aceh Besar District. The extraction method  for black plum used maceration with N-hexane and than concentrated in rotary evaporator. The disc diffusion method used to screen the antimicrobial activity with 20 %, 30 %, 40 % dan 50 % concentration.
