Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bakteri asam laktat (BAL) dan inulin bersumber dari umbi dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) terhadap ketahanan tubuh, kecernaan nutrien dan performan itik tegal jantan periode starter. Itik tegal jantan berjumlah 96 ekor umur 8 hari, starter BAL bentuk cair dan inulin dari tepung umbi dahlia digunakan pada penelitian ini. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap ulangan terdiri dari 6 ekor itik. Perlakuan penelitian terdiri dari T0 (ransum basal/RB), T1 (RB + 2 mL starter BAL), T2 (RB + 0,8% tepung umbi dahlia), dan T3 (RB + 2 mL starter BAL dan 0,8% tepung umbi dahlia). Parameter yang diukur meliputi konsumsi ransum, kecernaan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, asupan protein, rasio heterofil/limfosit (H/L), konversi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan. Data dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi starter BAL dan tepung umbi dahlia nyata (P<0,05) meningkatkan kecernaan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, asupan protein, rasio H/L, konversi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan, tetapi menurunkan konsumsi ransum. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah kombinasi starter BAL 2 mL dan tepung umbi dahlia 0,8% (T3) menghasilkan ketahanan tubuh, kecernaan nutrien dan performan lebih baik.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui penambahan probiotik dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak tinggi terhadap profil lemak darah dan kualitas daging broiler. Materi penelitian adalah day old chicken broiler unsex umur 1 hari berjumlah 200 ekor dan perlakuan diberikan umur 8 hari dengan koefisien keragaman 167,06 ± 11,43 g. Ransum disusun berdasarkan bahan pakan yaitu jagung giling,..bekatul,.bungkil.kedelai,.tepung ikan, minyak nabati, premiks,.CaCO3, lisin dan metionin serta Lactobacillus plantarum  sebagai probiotik. Penelitian disusun dengan.rancangan.acak lengkap.dengan.5.perlakuan.dan.4.ulangan (berisi 10 ekor tiap unit percobaan). Perlakuan.yang. digunakan : P0=Ransum dengan protein..non-mikropartikel; P1=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel; P2=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 4%+L. plantarum 1,2%; P3=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 6%+L. plantarum 1,2%; P4=Ransum dengan protein mikropartikel dan kadar lemak 8%+L. plantarum 1,2%. Parameter yang diukur meliputi asupan lemak, profil..lemak..darah..(kolesterol, trigliserida,..high..density..lipoprotein/HDL,..low..density lipoprotein/LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak dan kolesterol). Data terolah menggunakan uji  sidik ragam dan.beda.nyata.Duncan.pada.taraf.5%. Hasil.penelitian.menunjukkan bahwa penambahan L. plantarum 1,2% dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel 18% dengan kadar lemak 4-8% berpengaruh.nyata.(p<0,05).terhadap.asupan lemak, profil lemak darah (kolesterol, trigliserida, HDL, LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak.dan.kolesterol)..Kesimpulan adalah penambahan L. plantarum 1,2% dalam ransum mengandung protein mikropartikel 18% dengan kadar lemak 4% (P2) mampu menurunkan asupan lemak, profil.lemak.darah.(kolesterol,.trigliserida, HDL, LDL), dan kualitas daging (kadar lemak dan kolesterol).

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan bakteri usus halus dan performan ayam kampung silangan kampung-leghorn (KL) akibat ditambahkan ekstrak umbi dahlia dalam ransum. Ternak percobaan yang digunakan adalah persilangan ayam kampung silangan KL sebanyak 200 ekor umur 22 hari dengan rata-rata bobot badan 180,46 ± 1,21 g. Bahan perlakuan meliputi umbi dahlia, ethanol 70%, kertas saring halus serta bahan pakan penyusun ransum (jagung giling, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, CaCO3 dan mineral dan vitamin mix). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan (masing-masing unit percobaan diisi 10 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi: P0=Ransum kontrol/RK, P1=RK+0,39% ekstrak umbi dahlia, P2=RK+0,78 ekstrak umbi dahlia, dan P3= RK+1,17 ekstrak umbi dahlia. Parameter yang diukur meliputi populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji sidik ragam dan jika berpengaruh nyata dilakukan uji beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia berpengaruh nyata terhadap populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan PBBH. Kesimpulan adalah penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia sampai taraf 1,17% sebagai sumber inulin di dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan populasi bakteri asam laktat, menurunkan pH dan Escherichia coli pada masing-masing segmen usus halus serta memperlambat laju digesta dan meningkatkan PBBH.  (Population of small intestine bacteria and performance of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed duo to feeding of dahlia tuber extract) ABSTRAK. This study aims to examine the development of small intestine bacteria and the performances of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed due to the addition of dahlia tuber extract in the diet. Experimental animals were 200 unsex native chicken-leghorn crossbreed, 22 days old with an average body weight of 180.46 ± 1.21 g. Treatment materials include dahlia tuber, ethanol 70%, fine filter paper and feed stuff (yellow corn, rice bran, soy bean meal, fish meal, CaCO3, and vitamin-mineral mix). The present experiment was assigned in a completely randomized with 4 treatments and 5 replications (10 birds each). The treatments were: P0=Control Diet/CD, P1=CD+0,39% dahlia tuber extract, P2=CD+0,78% dahlia tuber extract and P3=CD+1,17% dahlia tuber extract. Parameters measured were the number of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), Escherichia coli, intestinal potential hydrogen (pH) (duodenal, jejunal and ileal), rate of passage and daily body weight gain (DBWG). Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test on 5% level. The results indicated that feeding native chicken-leghorn crossbreed with the diet containing dahlia tuber extract (DTE) significantly (P0.05) increased LAB population and DBWG, decreased E. coli population and intestinal pH, and slow the rate of passage down. In conclusion, feeding of dahlia tubers as a source of inulin in the form of dahlia tuber extract to a level of 1.17% increased the population of lactic acid bacteria, reduced pH and Escherichia coli in each segment of the small intestine and retard the rate of digestion and increased body weight gain.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sumber minyak yang berbeda terhadap kecernaan lemak dan kualitas daging ayam broiler. Ternak percobaan sebanyak 144 ekor unsex dan sumber minyak (minyak sisa penggorengan, minyak kelapa sawit dan minyak bekatul). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan  dan 4 ulangan (masing-masing unit berisi 6 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi T1 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak sisa penggorengan), T2 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak sisa penggorengan), T3 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak kelapa sawit), T4 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak kelapa sawit), T5 (ransum dengan 1,5%  minyak bekatul) dan T6 (ransum dengan 3%  minyak bekatul). Parameter yang diukur meliputi kecernaan lemak, bobot relatif lemak abdominal, massa lemak daging dan massa kolesterol daging.  Data diuji menggunakan uji Anova dan uji beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan minyak berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kecernaan lemak, bobot relatif lemak abdominal, massa lemak dan kolesterol daging. Kesimpulan adalah penggunaan minyak bekatul 1,5 and 3% (T5 and T6) pada  ayam broiler mampu menurunkan kecernaan lemak, bobot relative lemak abdominal, massa lemak dan kolesterol daging.Kata kunci: sumber minyak berbeda, kecernaan lemak, kualitas daging, ayam broilerABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the utilization of different oil sources on fat digestibility and meat quality broiler chicken. Experimental animals were 144 birds of unsex dan oil sources (waste oil, palm oil dan rice bran oil). The present experiment was assigned in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 4 replications (6 birds each). Treatments were as follows: T1 (diet with 1,5% waste oil), T2 (diet with 3% waste oil), T3 (diet with 1,5% palm oil), T4 (diet with 3% palm oil), T5 (diet with 1,5% rice bran oil), and T6 (diet with 3% rice bran oil). Parameter measured were fat digestibility, relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass and cholesterol meat mass. Data were subjected to analysis of Anova and Duncan of level 5%. Results of the present study indicated that the feeding of three different oil sources of significantly (P<0,05) on fat digestibility, the relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass, and cholesterol meat mass. In conclusion that feeding of 1,5 and 3% rice bran oil (T5 and T6) in diet broiler chicken able to decrease fat digestibility, the relative weight of abdominal fat, fat meat mass, and cholesterol meat mass.Keywords: different oil sources, fat digestibility, meat quality, broiler chicken

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study the effects of feeding inulin derived from dahlia tuber powder and extract on the existence of bacteria and growth of caecum in crossbred native chicken starter period. Experimental animals were 280 birds of unsex crossbred native chicken and source of inulin derived from dahlia tuber in the form of powders and extract which were started to be fed on day 22. The present experiment was assigned in completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 4 replications (10 birds each). Feeding treatments were as follows: T0 (basal diet/BD), T1 (BD +0.4% powder of dahlia tuber), T2 (BD +0.8% powder of dahlia tuber), T3 (BD +1.2% powder of dahlia tuber), T4 (BD +0.39% extract of dahlia tuber), T5 (BD +0.78% extract of dahlia tuber) and T6 (BD +1.17% extract of dahlia tuber). Parameter measured were lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Escherichia coli, pH of caecum, height dan weight of caecum. Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan. The results indicated that feeding inulin derived from dahlia tuber powder form at 0.8% (T2) and extract form at 1.17% (T6) could increase lactic acid bacteria population, low pH and Escherichia coli, increased height and weight of caecum. In conclusion, feeding inulin derived from dahlia tuber powder at 0.8% (T2) and extract formed at 1.17% (T6) could increase lactic acid bacteria, but on the contrary, it decreased intestinal pH and Escherichia coli population as well as increased height and weight of caecum. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan pengabdian adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada peternak itik indukan di Gapoktan Desa Purwokerto Kecamaran Brangsong Kabupaten Kendal tentang manajemen pemeliharaan, cara formulasi ransum, pengenalan bahan pakan inkonvensional dan bahan aditif seperti prebiotik/probiotik/makromineral. Itik Pebibit atau indukan memiliki peran terpenting untuk menghasilkan produk day old duck (DOD) baik itik pedaging atau petelur. Itik indukan harus memerlukan pemeliharaan intensif untuk memperoleh hasil yang bagus. Manajamen pakan melalui formulasi ransum harus diperhatikan keberadaan atau ketersediaan bahan pakan, kebutuhan nutrien dan kandungan nutrin bahan pakan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan, praktek dan pendampingan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan kerjasama dengan Gapoktan yaitu kelompok peternak itik indukan di Desa Purwokerto Kecamatan Brangsong Kabupaten Kendal.  Masing-masing pihak memberikan kontribusi untuk terlaksananya kegiatan.  Luaran kegiatan adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan peternak dalam manajemen itik indukan, khususnya dalam formulasi ransum dan pengenalan bahan pakan berdasarkan sumbernya.Abstract: The purpose is to provide knowledge to farmer of duck breeders in Gapoktan, Purwokerto Village, Brangsong District, Kendal Regency regarding maintenance management, method of ration formulation, introduction of inconventional feed ingredients and additives such as prebiotic/ probiotics / macromineral. Breeder ducks have the most important role to produce day old duck (DOD) products, either broiler or laying ducks. Breeder ducks must require intensive maintenance to obtain good results. Feed management with ration formulation must consider the presence or availability of feed ingredients, nutrient requirements and nutrient content of feed ingredients.  The methods used in this service are counseling, practice and mentoring.  The activity was carried out in collaboration with Gapoktan, namely the group of broodstock breeders in Purwokerto Village, Brangsong District Kendal Regency.  Each party contributes to the implementation of activities.  The output of the activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders in the management of broodstock ducks, especially in the formulation of rations and introduction of feed ingredients based on the source.

Abstract

This study aims to feeding of protein source feed ingredients in macroparticle or microparticles with the addition of bitter mustard root to the small intestinal bacteria population and nutrient intake in quails. The experimental livestock used by the layer phase quail were 200 birds with an average weight of 149 ± 10.88 g, protein feed ingredients in the form of soybean meal and fish meal, calcium comes from eggshells and mustard root powder as a prebiotic. The research design was a completely randomized design with 4 treatment and 5 replaice (each 10 bird). The treatment were P1= Feed with protein and calcium macroparticles; P2= Feed with protein and calcium microparticles; P3= Feed with protein and calcium macroparticles + bitter mustard root powder 1,2% dan P4= Feed with protein and calcium microparticles + bitter mustard root powder 1,2%. The parameters measured were population of  lactic acid bacteria, coliform, pH, protein and calcium intake. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (Anova) and different test (Duncan) on 5% level. The results showed that the use of rations with protein and calcium feed ingredients in macroparticles or microparticles with the addition of bitter mustard root powder had a significant effect (p<0,05) on  population of small intestine bacteria and nutrient intake. The use of protein and calcium microparticles with the addition of 1.2% bitter mustard root powder (P4) was able to increase the population of lactic acid bacteria and nutrient intake (protein and calcium) and decreased coliform population and small intestine pH compared to other treatments (P1-P3). The conclusion is feeding of protein and calcium microparticles and addition of 1.2% bitter mustard root powder could increase the population of lactic acid bacteria, protein and calcium intake and reduce the coliform population and the pH of the small intestine.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the liver health in broiler chickens which were fed with additional organic calcium sources combined with alkaline water. The material used was 240 broilers with an average body weight of 195.25 ± 6.85 g. The study used a completely randomized design with a 2x3 factorial pattern, the first factor was 3 levels of alkaline water, namely 0% (A1), 10 mL (A2) and 20 mL. (A3), and the second factor is 2 levels of organic calcium sources, namely eggshell flour (B1) and shellfish (B2). Each treatment was repeated 4 times, each filled with 7 heads. Parameters measured were serum glutamate okasaloacetate transminase (SGOT), serum glutamate pyruvate transminase (SGPT) and relative liver weight. The results showed that the combination of alkaline water and organic calcium sources showed an interaction with SGOT, while the relative weight of the liver and SGPT had no interaction. The conclusion is that the combination of alkaline water levels up to 20 mL and organic calcium sources (eggshell and shellfish flour) is not harmful to broiler liver.Keywords: alkaline water, broiler chickens, liver indicators and sources of calcium
