Abstract

The increasing population and the demand for soybean consumption in Indonesia are not comparable to soybean production, which is still low. Land conversion and changes in climate patterns that cause drought stress are also triggers for low production. Drought stress can be anticipated by using drought stress-tolerant cultivars at various growth phases. This study aimed to determine the effect of drought stress on yields and yield components of several soybean cultivars. In addition, to determine the soybean cultivars that are most resistant to drought stress. This study was arranged experimentally using a factorial (3x2) split-plot design. The main plot, namely drought stress, consisted of three levels: watering once a day, once every three days, and watering once every six days. The sub-plots were soybean cultivars with three replications consisting of 2 levels, namely Wilis and Anjasmoro cultivars. The selection of these 2 cultivars was made on purpose because farmers had easy access to seeds. Determination of drought stress-resistant cultivars using the stress tolerance index (ITC). Drought stress caused almost all yield and yield component variables to decrease, such as the number of pods, the number of seeds per pod, and the total weight of seeds. Based on the stress tolerance index (ITC), it is known that the Wilis cultivar is more tolerant to drought stress than the Anjasmoro cultivar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja usaha pada Industri tahu di Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) untuk menganalisis pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja usaha industry tahu. Data primer yang digunakan diambil melalui observasi dan proses wawancara, sementara itu data sekunder yang diperoleh dari instansi terkait. Responden dalam penelitian sebanyak 30 orang pelaku usaha tahu di Sumatera Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja usaha dengan nilai koefisiennya yaitu 0.588. Orientasi kewirausahaan terdiri dari proaktif, berani mengambil resiko dan otonomi. Variabel yang paling dominan mempengaruhi orientasi kewirausahaan adalah otonomi dengan nilai loading faktornya yaitu 0.932, dapat dilihat dari kemandirian pelaku usaha dalam menjalankan usaha selama pandemi. Oleh karena itu pemerintah sebaiknya bekerjasama dengan UMKM tahu dengan memberikan pelatihan manajemen kewirausahaan yang akan bermanfaat untuk peningkatan kinerja usaha tahu yang selanjutnya akan meningkatkan pemasukan usaha.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze individual factors and entrepreneurial behavior of oyster mushroom farmers in Payakumbuh. The entrepreneurial behavior characteristics of oyster mushroom farmers were analyzed descriptively from 60 selected farmers using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The results showed that individual factors consisting of experience, self-confidence, motivation to try farming, skills, perceptions of effort, and desire to try were classified into the high category. Individual factor variables that have a high level of perception for farmers are high desire to try. Entrepreneurial behavior consisting of persistence in trying, responsiveness to opportunities, being innovative, daring to take risks, and being independent. Entrepreneurial behavior variables that have a high level of perception for farmers are diligent in trying, namely the farmer's persistence in pursuing farming and his patience in facing difficulties.

Abstract

Global warming is a challenge faced by the agricultural sector because global warming has resulted in a decrease in production and productivity of food crops caused by natural disasters, one of which is flooding. Nagari Taram, which is a producer of food crops, especially rice, in Harau District is an area prone to flooding. So that when this area is hit by floods it will cause a decrease in rice production. Therefore, it is necessary to do afforestation as a long-term flood management strategy. The reforestation was carried out in the Kapalo Banda river basin. The plants planted are ketapang trees because ketapang trees are trees that provide many benefits such as being a shade, neutralizing the pH of water, the seeds are consumed, as building materials and most importantly the extract can be used by farmers for herbicides. It is hoped that this greening will provide knowledge, examples and motivation for the local community so that later this greening will continue to the lower reaches of the Kapalo Banda river.
