Abstract : Efforts to prevent the transmission of the corona virus disease-19 (COVID-19) have been carried out by the Indonesian government, including by broadcast information about pandemic to the public, but cases of COVID-19 are still increasing until now. Good public knowledge about preventing the transmission of COVID-19 is important to prevent the increase in transmission of COVID-19, including adolescent groups. This study aims to evaluate the increase in adolescent knowledge about preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in Tempel Village, Banyuanyar, Surakarta through education using audio-visual media. This study is quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Research data collection was conducted online using Google forms on adolescent aged 14-19 years and not married, as many as 60 respondents. Data analysis was carried out statistically to test the difference in knowledge level between the control group and the intervention group with the Mann Whitney test. The pretest results of the intervention group showed that 16 respondents are sufficient knowledge (53.3%), good knowledge (30%) and 5 respondents (16.7%) had insufficient knowledge. The posttest results after being given education showed a significant increase in knowledge were respondents with good knowledge were 30 respondents (100%) in intervention group. Based on the research, it can be concluded that education through audio-visual media can significantly increase adolescent knowledge about preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in Tempel Village, Banyuanyar, Surakarta.Keywords : prevention of COVID-19 transmission, knowledge, adolescent, education, audio-visual mediaAbstrak : Upaya pencegahan penularan corona virus disease (COVID-19) telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah Indonesia termasuk dengan penyebarluasan informasi tentang pandemi pada masyarakat, namun kasus COVID-19 masih terus meningkat sampai saat ini. Pengetahuan masyarakat yang baik tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19 penting untuk mencegah meningkatnya penularan COVID-19, termasuk kelompok masyarakat remaja. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan pengetahuan remaja tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19 di Kampung Tempel Kelurahan Banyuanyar Surakarta melalui edukasi dengan media audio visual. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental dengan nonequivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan secara online menggunakan Google form pada remaja berusia 14-19 tahun dan belum menikah, sebanyak 60 responden. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik untuk menguji perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok intervensi dengan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil pretest kelompok intervensi menunjukkan responden yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup sebanyak 16 responden (53,3%), pengetahuan baik sebanyak 9 responden (30%) dan pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 5 responden (16,7%). Hasil posttest setelah diberikan edukasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan di mana responden dengan pengetahuan baik sebanyak 30 responden (100%). Berdasarkan penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi melalui media audio visual dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19 di Kampung Tempel Kelurahan Banyuanyar Surakarta secara signifikan.Kata kunci: pencegahan penularan COVID-19, pengetahuan, remaja, edukasi, media audio visual
