Abstract

The purpose of the research is to describe the reasoning of junior high school students with extroverted personality in solving math problems. The kind of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects of the research are three students of junior high school students in VII class with extrovert personality. The data collecting methods are documentation, interviews, observation, questionnaires, and test. The credibility of the data is test by using triangulation. Triangulation that used is time, subject and method. The results of the research are, the mathematics reasoning of extrovert subject include the collecting facts related to the problem but not writing all the facts that exist, only partially needed for the calculation process is written, then do the analysis but not detailed just what is needed for the next process is written, then make conjectures and propose arguments to strengthen the conjecture that has been proposed, however, the conjecture that is made is incomplete and detailed only partially, and for the last is to draw conclusions but not validate the conclusions that have been made. The whole process in the deployment is done by the subject but not maximally. The situation is supported by the basic nature of extrovert subject that easily bored, not an expert writing but more expert opinion verbally. Keywords: reasoning, problem solving, and extrovert personality

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know any significant effect of using Lah Bako mathematic learning strategy on students learning outcome as local wisdom in Jember. The kind of the research is exsperimental with quantitative approach. The subjects of the research are V grade students’. The data collecting methods are documentation, test and interview. After testing of the using Lah Bako mathematic learning strategy, the results of student outcome is better. The value of chi squre is 30,000 and table of chi squre is 3,481, it means that chi squre is higher than table of chi squre. Based on the results, it can be inferred that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, and the conclusion is, there is a significant effect of using Lah Bako mathematic learning strategy on students learning outcome as local wisdom in Jember. The suggestion of the research is, teacher as the main key on learning process must be creative and inovative to compile the learning strategy, where the learning strategy is used not only for reaching the learning purpose but also learning strategy which invite the students for knowing surrounding local wisdom, as using Lah Bako (Latihan Hitung Bangun Kongkret) learning strategy that it’s name of traditional dance from Jember. Keywords: Lah Bako strategy, learning outcome.

Abstract

Learning is a key activity of the educational process. Researchers conducted observations in class VII-A MTs As-sunniyah Ranuyoso virgin and approximately 80% of the data obtained shows student scores ≤ 70. This study aimed to determine Increased Activity dan Student Result in studying the math the subject is social arithmetic with probing prompting learning model. Type of research is a classroom action research (CAR). The procedure used is the model cycle based on these result, the percentage of student learning in the first cycle of 60,3%, and a second cycle 0f 92,8%. While the result of daily tests of student in the first cycle obtained average value 31,5, while on the second cycle of 79,95. It is proved that the activity and student learning outcomes can be improved with the implementation of probing prompting learning model. For a particular subject, type probing prompting learning model is used to avoid boredom in learning actifity.   Keywords: probing prompting, learning activity, learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is aimed at investigating the correlation between learning style and creativity of MA student’s in solving the story-based mathematical problems. This is the corelational research with quantitative approach. The subjects of the research are the ten ggraders at MA Azza Ainul Yaqin. The subjects are given the test to know the creativity in solving the story-based mathematical problems. The data collection methods are documentation, questionnaire, and test. All the data gained in this study was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient. The result of the research are r product = 0.562 and r table = 0.413 it’s mean that r product > r table so accepted Ha and reject Ho. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant corelatiaon between learning style and creativity of MA student’s in solving the story-based mathematical problems. The suggestion is that the teacher must care about learning style and creativity student’s in order to make the student get maximum score in the school.Key Words: learnig style, creativity
