Abstract

Adolesent faces complicated phase because the condition of unstable emotion. In beginning of adolesecence, the development shows strong sensitive and reactive characterisic to an event or social situation. The emotion is negative and temperamental. This research has purpose to: 1) helping student to solve development’s problems by using approach of transactional analysis counseling, 2) giving skill for counseling guidance teacher to be able to use approach on transactional analysis counseling by using life position technique, 3) helping adolecent to reach life position in gaining optimal development. This research uses descriptive method through the study of action research which consist of two cycles. The first cycle with counseling plan by using approach of transactional analysis counseling, and second cycle by giving perception and action whith approach of transactional analysis counseling. The subject of this research is student of junior high school as well as counseling guidance teacher. Instrument and technic of data accumulation is interview and observation. The result of it will increase the skill of counseling guidance teacher in doing conseling intervention and group of transactional analysis focuses in solving adolescent’s problem. Overall of those two cycles have the change of skill that counseling guidance teacher has to help solving adolescent’s development especially showing correct ego state and life script is I am ok you are ok.

Abstract

Coping is an effort to manage burdensome situations, expand effort to overcome or reduce stress. Coping that focuses on aimed at reducing or manging emotional stresses related to the situation. The purpose of this study is to describe student coping in working on scripts viewed from emotional focused coping and problem focused coping. The type of research used is descriptive research. The research population of the students of the Faculty of Education, Padang State University, who worked on their thesis in 2019 from the 2012-2015 batch of 790 students. Samples were taken using proportional random sampling technique, so that a total sample of 266 students was obtained. The study was conducted by administering the questionnaire instrumen. Data were analyzed by percentage analysis. The study shows the results (1) coping students in worling on the thesis as a  whole is in the low category, (2) coping students in working on the thesis seen from emotional focused coping in in the lo category, (3) coping students in working on the thesis seen from problem focused coping is at low category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by an incident that occurred in MTs Negeri 3 Agam students where students were faced with a single mother's family condition, they tended not to accept the situation that occurred to their family which was shown by an attitude like feeling jealous of their friends who had a complete family. This study aims to describe the self-esteem of students raised by single parent mothers at MTs Negeri 3 Agam based on aspects of general self-esteem, social self-esteem and personal self-esteem. The method used in this research is quantitative method with descriptive type. The subjects in this study were students who were raised by single parent mothers at MTs Negeri 3 Agam, totaling 86 students registered in the 2020/2021 academic year. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire with a Likert scale model and to analyze data using a percentage formula. The research findings reveal that (1) the self-esteem of students raised by single parent mothers at MTs Negeri 3 Agam as a whole is in the medium category with a percentage of 43.02%, (2) students' self-esteem seen from the general self-esteem aspect is at medium category with a percentage of 40.70%, (3) students 'self-esteem seen from the social self-esteem aspect is in the medium category with a percentage of 38.37%, (4) students' self-esteem seen from the personal self-esteem aspect is at medium category with a percentage of 34.88%.

Abstract

Today, the phenomenon of student cheating behavior is still often found in the field. One of the factors causing the occurrence of cheating behavior is the low self-confidence of students or the low self-efficacy of students. This study aims to see an overview of students 'cheating behavior, student self-efficacy, and to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and students' cheating behavior. The research method used is descriptive and correlational approaches. The study population was the students of SMA Negeri 3 Padang, amounting to 667 students, with a sample of 250 students who were selected by using stratified random sampling technique. Collecting data using a Likert scale model questionnaire. To see the relationship between the two variables using Pearson Correlation Product Moment. The results of this study indicate: 1) student self-efficacy is in the high category with a frequency of 144 and a percentage of 57.6%, 2) the student's cheating behavior is in the medium category with a frequency of 48% 3) there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and cheating behavior with rxy = - 0.497 and a significant level of 0.000.

Abstract

Adversity Quotient (AQ) is basically beneficial for human life, including college students. Having a high AQ will certainly make college students more resilient in the face of difficulties and obstacles that occur in connection with the educational process that they undergo so as to be able to prevent various difficulties that arise such as learning plateau in the educational process being undertaken by college students in various levels of education. The purpose of this study is to look at the possibility of increasing Adversity Quotient (AQ) to reduce student's learning plateau. This research is qualitative research in the form of library research using secondary data obtained from various sources such as books, literature, and articles published in journals. Then the data are analyzed using content analysis or content to understand the existing content of the collected data and integrate it in writing. It is known that there is a possibility of increasing the AQ which will be useful to reduce the student's learning plateau, through Guidance and Counseling services especially Group Guidance services. Integrating other services in the Guidance and Counseling services is also important to get a complete picture of the conditions faced by clients or students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students having bad academic procrastination attitudes due to lack of parental social support. This study aims to 1) describe parental social support, 2) describe academic procrastination, and 3) identify the relationship between parental social support and academic procrastination of students completing lesson assignments at SMAN.This research is descriptive and correlational. The population of this study was 401 students at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak for the 2019-2020 school year. The sample in this study was 215 students at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak for the 2019-2020 school year. The instrument used was a Likert scale instrument. The data is processed using statistical techniques to determine the mean, standard deviation, range, score and percentage. To find the relationship between two variables, the Pearson Product Moment technique was used with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution program for Windows Release 20.0.The results of the study revealed that 1) the social support of the parents of students completing lesson tasks at SMAN was mostly in the medium category, 2) the academic procrastination of students completing the assignments at SMAN was mostly in the high category, and 3) there was a negative and significant relationship between the parents' social support. with academic procrastination students complete assignments at SMAN with a correlation level of 0.035. Based on the research findings, it is suggested that Gurun BK / counselors at SMAN can help rationalize students' thinking in completing lesson assignments at SMAN about good parental social support and change the lower academic procrastination attitudes. This is so that students become enthusiastic in achieving their goals and support a better education. In addition, for those who are already married, it is recommended that they be given family guidance with the same material.

Abstract

As a first step to enter the world of work, students are required to be able to develop their abilities, knowledge, skills and personality attributes as a provision for their readiness to work in order to be able to compete in getting the desired job. However, in fact there are still students who are not ready to enter the world of work, with there are also graduates who are not absorbed by the world of work. In connection with this, there are several factors that can affect job readiness, one of which is Self Efficacy. This study aims to determine the relationship between Self Efficacy and job readiness in vocational students. The method used in this research is descriptive and correlational. The study population was 418 grade XII students who had completed an internship at SMK Negeri 9 Padang, with a sample of 222 students, who were selected by simple random sampling technique. Collecting data using Self Efficacy questionnaires and work readiness with a Likert scale model. Data processing using Microsoft Excel. To see the relationship between the two variables using the Pearson correlation product moment.The results of this study indicate: (1) Self Efficacy is in the high category with a percentage of 58.1%, (2) job readiness is in the high category with a percentage of 59.9%, (3) there is a significant positive relationship between Self Efficacy and readiness. work with rxy = 0.415 and a significant level of 0.000. Based on the research results, there is a significant positive relationship between Self Efficacy and work readiness, meaning that the higher Self Efficacy, the higher work readiness and vice versa. Work readiness and self-efficacy of SMK Negeri 9 Padang students are high, but there are still a small number of students who don't have Self Efficacy and work readiness to enter work.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students who do not understand their interests and talents so that they have an impact on their careers and do not get information from counseling teachers regarding career information. Career planning is a provision or process that an individual must undergo and go through in an effort to achieve the desired career goals. This study aims to describe the career planning of vocational students which includes, 1) self-knowledge and understanding, 2) knowledge and understanding of work and 3) integration of personal information with existing jobs. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study. The sample of this research was 246 students of class X and XI SMKN 1 Pasaman in the academic year 2020/2021 who were selected using the simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire about the career planning of students of SMKN 1 Pasaman with the Likert scale model answer choices. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results revealed that:, 1) the career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from all aspects was generally in the good category with a percentage of 58.13%, 2) the career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of knowledge and understanding of themselves was generally in the good category with a percentage 52.44%, 3) career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of knowledge and understanding of work is generally in a good category with a percentage of 47.97% and 4) career planning for SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of integrating self-information with existing jobs, generally in pretty good category with a percentage of 55.28%.

Abstract

The students need to havebehavioral autonomyin deciding their career. However, There are some students who lack behavioral autonomyindeciding the career. This study was aimed at describing the studentsbehavioral autonomyin deciding their career in terms of (1) havingthe ability of decision making. (2) having power over the influence of others, and (3) having self-confidence. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The population of this research is Students of Class XI of SMKN 9 Padang amounted of 389 students andthe sampleis 197 students taken by using purposive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The data obtained are analyzed by using a percentage technique. The findings of this study are (1) The students' independence of class XI of SMKN 9 Padang in deciding their career in terms of having the ability to make decisions is in the independent category, (2) the students' independence of class XI of SMKN 9 Padang in making decision of career in terms of having the power to influence others is in the independent category, and (3) the student tsautonomy of Class XI of SMKN 9 Padang inmakingdecision of career in terms of having self-confidence is in the independent category. Thus, it can be concluded that commonly the students' independence of  Class XI of SMKN 9 Padang in making decision of career  is categorized independent.

Abstract

In adolescence, not only physical changes occur but also changes in sexual attitudes and behavior. During its development, adolescents already know the opposite sex and like the opposite sex. This means that interest in sex in adolescents increases. However, sexual behavior in adolescents is increasingly worrying, there has been a change in sexual outlook and behavior in society. Sexual behavior such as holding hands, which is a common practice of hugging while driving, is often seen in general. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of sexual behavior in various forms. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. The population of this study were students of class X and XI SMA Kartika 1-5 Padang, totaling 412 people. The sampling technique was carried out using simple random sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 205 people. The research was carried out by administering the Likert scale model research instrument. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The findings of this study indicate that students' perceptions of sexual behavior are in the medium category with a percentage (37.6%) in terms of: (1) biological aspects are in the Very High category with a percentage (37.6%), (2) psychological aspects are in the Very High category with a percentage (34.6%), (3) the social aspects are in the Very High category with a percentage (50.2%), (4) the moral aspects are in the Very High category with a percentage (47.8% ). Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that the Guidance and Counseling Teacher at School, in order to correct the wrong perceptions of students regarding perceptions of sexual behavior.
