Abstract

An inventory of ants from dragon fruit plantation at Lubuk Minturun and Ketaping, West Sumatra was made from July to September 2013 by using modified Quadra Protocol methods including honey bait trap, soil core sampling and direct collection. Twelve species of ants that belong to four subfamilies, 10 genera and 2807 individuals were collected from both locations. The highest number of species was found in Myrmicinae (four species), followed by Dolichoderinae (three species), Formicinae (three species) and the lowest number of species was found in Ponerinae (one species). Each species was described based on morphological characteristics.Keywords: ant, inventory, dragon fruit plantation, quadra protocol method

Abstract

Feature extraction is one of a problem in bioinformatics. Bioinformatics research using many feature in their dataset. In this research we develop a method to find the interaction of the feature in the dataset. The method using multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) to select the feature of gene. The purpose of the experiment is to measure the effective and correctness of the MIMO method. The breast cancer dataset was used in the experiment. The result of the experiment show that the MIMO can improve the gene selection as the feature. Index Terms—Bioinformatics, breast cancer dataset, gene selection.

Abstract

Permasalahan pada sebuah jaringan terus berkembang seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah jaringan yang terbentuk. Peningkatan jumlah jaringan terjadi karena peningkatan jumlah dan jenis dari pengguna jaringan. Hal ini menyebabkan sistem yang ada sekarang harus terus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengguna jaringan. Salah satu yang terus digunakan adalah algoritma TCP untuk mengatur pengiriman data, paket drop dan congestion window. TCP yang biasa digunakan masih dianggap kurang efektif dalam melayani pengiriman data terutama jika terjadi banyak paket drop. Jika banyak terjadi paket drop otomatis waktu yang dibutuhkan sebuah paket untuk sampai pada tujuan akan membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama. Untuk itu dilakukan beberapa percobaan untuk mencari solusi yang bertujuan mengurangi drop. Salah satunya adalah dengan memodifikasi algoritma TCP. Solusi yang dijabarkan adalah dengan menambah parameter decrease dan increase yang mampu mengatur congestion window sedemikian sehingga mampu mengurangi drop. Abstract

Plentiful choices of Student Activities Unit that offered by a campus like Multimedia Nusantara University can help students who want to choose a unit that suitable for them. The decision support system application with Forward Chaining method is built to help students choosing the Student Activity Unit that suits them. Multiple Intelligence method is used as the knowledge base at making the rules. The aspects that considered as attributes to choosing the Student Activities Unit is the initial interest and also the multiple intelligence scores that the level of conformity will be searched by using Forward Chaining method. This research has produced a knowledge-based decision support system that can help students at choosing Student Activities Unit that suitable for them with the highest accuracy of 86.67 percent. This system is designed in website with PHP and MySQL database programming language. Abstract

The development of fruit local industry is very high, but it less competitive than the imported fruit product. The kind of Indonesian fruit is very variative, but the support technology in this industry is stiil not implemented. This problem make the local fruit industry cannot compete with imported fruit. The purpose of the research is to develop a technology that can increase the using of technology on fruit industry. This research focus is fruit sweetness measeurment technology. This research the fruit tapping sound. Fast Fourier Transform is used as sound feature extraction method to get the feature. Based on the feature the fruit sweetness level can be predicted using the k Nearest Neighbour (kNN). The experiment on this research is divided into two parts. is using the training data to predict the sweetness levelof the fruits. The result of the research shows that the correlation between tapping sound and sweetness level can be used to predict the sweetness level of the fruit. Index Terms—Sweetness Degree, Brix, k Nearest Neighbor, and Fast Fourier Transform.

Abstract

Identifikasi of road damage and how to handle early is important so that the use of the road remains optimally. The delay in the repair process will exacerbate the damage to the road itself, and will certainly increase the cost of repairs. PCA algorithm was chosen because it is a technique that is commonly used to draw the features of the data on a high-dimensional scale. While the input of the system that is built in the form of a digital image of the damaged roads, has a relatively large dimensions to be used directly by the algorithm of pattern recognition, such as neural networks. Research results obtained this type of cracking cracked 67% and cracking the other 33%. This can be caused by a few things, namely the shooting process is not perfect, as the distance is too far, the less light, the edge detection process less well due to the method used is not appropriate. Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan yang memiliki berbagai jenis keanekaragaman ikan. Potensi perikanan laut sebesar 6,5 juta ton per tahun, namun jumlah produksinya hanya mencapai 5,06 juta ton. Hal ini menunjukan proses produksi belum optimal. Proses produksi serta pemilahan yang masih tradisional membuat produksi berjalan lambat. Dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan sebuah metode untuk mengklasifikasikan kesegaran ikan berdasarkan citra digital ikan. Adapun algoritma yang digunakan adalah kNN, C4.5, dan Naïve Bayes. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba yang dilakukan, algoritma kNN memberikan nilai akurasi yang tertinggi diantara algoritma lainnya. Sehingga kNN dinilai cocok digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan kesegaran ikan. Metode yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu mengotomatisasi proses produksi yang sebelumnya manual.
