Abstract

Code-Mixing Javanese Language of Banyumasan in Indonesian Language Learning at Vocational High School. This research will describe: (1) the form of code mixing, and (2) the factor that causing of code mixing that occur in the process of Indonesian learning class. Data and data sources in this research are a written data about speech that appear in a process of Indonesian language learning. Validity data technique is use triangulation of data source and informant review. Data analysis used intralingual method. The results of this study found the use of code mixing in Indonesian learning class in The Country Vocational High School of Banyumas. The form of code mixing that found are namely: (1) word insertion, (2) phrase insertion, (3) clause insertion, (4) the word repetition, and (5) idiom. The factor that causing of code mixing are: (1) changing situation, (2) want to explain something, and (3) establishing intimacy between teacher and student.

Abstract

Tailing is one of waste types produced by mining activity at PT. Freepot Indonesia (PTFI), and it is also called as sirsat, which is the representing abbreviation from sand in mining. The sirsat is placed at ModADA (Modified Ajkwa Deposition Area), an area that has been modified and managed for sirsat deposits. This area is about 235 square kilometres, which is bounded from the surrounding region by West Levee and East Levee. The system used by utilizing the river flow to carry the tailing from the mountain to the deposition area in ModADA.The river flow along the channel contains eroded materials which are correlated with the friction factor, velocity of sedimentation, and geometric configuration showing the bed river morphology. Grain size is a factor influencing the bed river morphology which is used as parameter in this study. The measurement and accumulation of sirsat grains have been conducted since 1997 up to now, and at the same time construction of river cross sections from highland to lowland in ModADA has also been made. These parameters are then utilized for analysis by using statistical approach such as mean, variance, and standard deviation. Estimation of the bed river morphology is carried out by analysing the characteristics of channel base form on the basis of the D50 sediment grain sizes. The estimation of the bed river morphology may be used to predict sedimentation pattern of the river flow in Ajkwa lowland in Timika, Papua.Keywords: ModADA, Grain Size, Bedriver, Sedimentation

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) assertive speech acts stating what is used in buying and selling interactions between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; (2) the assertive form of assertive speech act stating that is used in buying and selling interactions between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; (3) the implicature function that appears in assertive speech acts states in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; and (4) the relevance of assertive speech acts states in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the 2nd floor BTC market as teaching material for negotiating texts in high schools. This study used a qualitative method using a pragmatic study approach related to speech acts. The results of the study are as follows. First, there are 35 variations of speech data that occur in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta. Second, from 35 assertive utterances stated in the interaction of buying and selling carried out by the seller and buyer are categorized into two forms of implicature, namely conventional and non-conventional. Third, from 35 speech data analyzed the implicature function that emerged from each speech data in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in Surakarta. Fourth, Assertive speech acts state that the buying and selling interactions that arise in the BTC market on the 2nd floor can be considered as negotiating text teaching material on basic competence 3.11 constructing negotiating texts for class X SMA by considering variations and learning objectives to be achieved.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are to describe and to explain the learning process of short-story writing based on Curriculum 2013 which includes teachers’ comprehension about Curriculum 2013, planning, implementation, and assessment based on the Curriculum 2013 and the constraints and efforts made to overcome the obstacles. The research used descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The data resources in this research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documents analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that learning to write short stories needs to be evaluatedin order to increase the quality of learning process both from planning, implementation, and the assesment because there are still some obstacles in the implementation. This the Curriculum 2013 can be implemented in accordance with the concepts and rules have been made by the government and achieve the goal of education have been formulated.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with case study approach. The population in this study were class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar. The research sample was students of class X IPS 1 with purposive sampling sampling technique. Data sources include events, informants, and documents. Data collection techniques such as observation, interview, and document analysis. The data validity test consists of triangulation of data sources, method triangulation, and informant review. Data analysis technique is interactive model of analysis. The results of this study include: (1) teachers' perceptions of the implementation of the Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition on learning to read poetry is good; (2) instructional planning is prepared in accordance with Permendikbud Number 22 Year 2016; (3) the implementation of reading poetry learning works well; (4) assessment of learning has not been done effectively; (5) obstacles in the form of: (a) limited face-to-face learning time in semester 2; (b) the implementation of a less effective learning assessment; (c) not all students have the talent to read poetry and students find it difficult to find the atmosphere of poetry; (d) subjectivity in assessing literary learning; (6) efforts in the form of: (a) providing structured and unstructured tasks; (b) the use of tasks in group discussion so that the assessment of poetry reading can still be carried out in its entirety; (c) students are required to frequently see references to reading poetry from youtube; d) making assessment criteria.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain: (1) the conversation structure in the classroom interaction of Indonesian language subject between teachers-students and among students and (2) the language function of the teachers' language and students' language in the classroom interaction. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. The subjects of this study were the use of language the teacher and students in Indonesian language course. The data in the form of sentences and discourse were analyzed by Sinclair & Cotlthard (1975) theory and Halliday (1973) theory. This research belongs to qualitative research using case study methods. The results of this study are; first, in the teachers-students conversation structure and the students-students conversation structure found new actions, namely, repeat. Both of the sequences of the conversation structure unit are from the largest to the smallest, namely: lesson, transaction, exchange, move, and act. Second, the language functions in the teachers’ language and students’ language, namely: the instrumental function, the regulatory function, the interaction function, the representational function, the personnel function, and the heuristic function.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to describe about the correlation between effective sentence mastery and reading habit of printed mass media with news text writing skills independent or together. The method used is correlational survey. The sample in this study is 126 students or 28% from the total population of 446 students. Thesample determined by cluster random sampling technique. Research data were obtained through three instruments (1) test of news text writing skills; (2) effective sentence mastery test; and(3) questionnaire of reading habit of printed mass media. Data analysis technique used is product moment correlation (simple and double) and regression. The result of this research show effective sentences mastery (X1) and reading habit of printed mass media (X2) together contributes 48% to news text writing skills (Y).

Abstract

The research was aimed to know whether cooperative learning model with teams games tournament type could improve both process and the scanning reading competention on finding  information from phone book. This research subjects was the eighth grade students of PKBM Sahabat Karanganyar in academic year of 2016/2017. Data were collected by document analysis, observation, and interview. The data validity was tested by data triangulation technique. Data was analyzed by comparative descriptive technique. This research procedure consists of: (1) the planning; (2) the act of learning; (3) observation; and (4) analysis and reflection. The result showed that there were improvement of process and scanning reading competention on finding information from phone book through cooperative learning model with teams games tournament type in the eighth grade students of PKBM Sahabat Karanganyar in academic year of 2016/2017.

Abstract

This research aimed at describing and explaining about (1) the style of language used in the Short Story of Di Tubuh Tara, Dalam Rahim Pohon; (2) the value of character education contained in Di Tubuh Tara, Dalam Rahim Pohon; (3) the relevance of the Short Story in Di Tubuh Tara, Dalam Rahim Pohon as a literary learning material. The results of this study indicate that, (1) language style there are 35 data, namely simile; metaphor; personification; allegory; hyperbole; satire; irony; pleonase; periphrasis. (2) The value of character education there are 20 data, that is social care; honest; religious; responsible; curiosity; like to read; environmental care; love the homeland; appreciate achievement; hard work; independent; spirit of nationality; creative; love peace. (3) A collection of short stories In Tara's Body In The Womb Tree is one of a collection of short stories that can be made as teaching material at school. Because in addition to the collection of short stories that have a beautiful but easy to understand language style, the collection of short stories also have a different theme from one work to another, and in accordance with the subjects of Indonesian language, literary learning, especially the appreciation of short stories in high school.

Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research with approach of sociology of literature. Data collection techniques used in this study are document analysis techniques and interviews. Data validity uses data triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis using interactive analysis method with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that (1) the author's most dominant social setting influences the creation of literary works, namely the educational background and the profession of the author. (2) The description of the community reflected in the ACIM includes: stunting in life, issues of tolerance, doubts about defending the homeland, the dissolution of national language, cultural issues, and the phenomenon of early marriage. (3) the response of ACIM readers states that this anthology is interesting in terms of the language, theme and background of the formation of two state anthologies. (4) the values of character contained in ACIM include; religious, responsibility, hard work, respect, polite, ecological, nationalist, and action oriented. (5) ACIM can be used as a literary teaching material in high schools in accordance with the basic competencies (KD) of short stories, this anthology can also be used as literary learning material in terms of aspects of language, psychology, and cultural background.
