Abstract

In Aceh Province, Dayah Perbatasan Darul Amin is an Islamic Boarding school institution that has twice had achievement as the cleanest and healthiest boarding school as part of adiwiyata-based education institution concept. Such achievement by the Islamic boarding school can inspire and terminate a syndrome that a boarding house is a slump, dirty and unhealthy place. Also, it can change the public paradigm that boarding school is a very representative place to study. This research analyzes the Islamic boarding school management model in implementing the adiwiyata concept through participative leadership. The research approach paradigm is the qualitative one. The research used a diary method (DM). This article is an experience of Darul Amin Islamic Boarding School in implementing the adiwiyata program by implementing an effective Islamic boarding school. Results of the research show that adiwiyata program management is conducted through participative leadership, namely (1) formulation of adiwiyata Islamic boarding school, (2) building intern consolidation, (3) implementation of cleanliness management, (4) procurement of necessary infrastructure, (5) program evaluation and (6) organizational development. All elements' active contribution in realizing the adiwiyata Islamic boarding school can improve students' characteristics to live clean and love their environment. The participative leadership of the Kyai is proven to be able to improve the effectiveness of adiwiyata Islamic boarding school management.

Abstract

Every organization is basically a kind of control system. An irregular organizational system will have a negative impact and lack of control over the performance of the members of the organization. The organizational system also plays a significant role in creating a conducive atmosphere in the school environment. An effective and structured organizational system will provide boundaries and positive direction in the organization. This research is a quantitative research with survey method. From the results of this study it was found that the organizational system significantly influenced the work motivation of teachers in state vocational high schools Jambi Province. Based on the calculation results obtained by the analysis of the value thitung (9,0)> ttabel (1,969), until H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that the organizational system that is run and maintained within a school organization will be able to provide a significant influence on teacher work motivation. The research implications of these findings explain that the better the organizational system built in this school the better the effect will be on increasing teacher work motivation.

Abstract

The subject of this research is how to manage pesantren in Southeast Aceh in the aspect of economic independence, that relates to the problem of financial management in pesantren.  From 36 pesantren, only 6 of them are accredited A, one of the assessment indicators is economic aspect, it means the rest are considered not sufficiently financially independent.  If we/YOU see the data that is processed is qualitative using field research.  The data obtained from the managers of pesantren in Southeast Aceh.  The method of data collection was done through observation, interview, and documentation techniques.  The study uses observation guides, interview guidelines and data documentation as research instruments.  Data processing and analysis technique were carried out through three stages; data reduction, data presentation and data verification.  At the implementation level, generally the management of pesantren has held business units from various existing sources / potentials, in fact the implementation has not been running as it should.  The study also found that there is a relationship between quality and accessibility on the one hand, and the composition of income and expenditure at the pesantren level on the other hand.  Strategic advice for the development of financial management in pesantren in Southeast Aceh as well as research findings, including (1) the presence of a financial manager or someone who has financial competence;  (2) having a development plan as a form of achieving targets;  (3) forming business units as a form of independence;  and finally (4) team cohesiveness.

Abstract

The era of globalization demands education institution to be adaptive, creative, and innovative, including Islamic boarding schools as the institutions of Islamic education which become the national cultural heritage. One of the innovative programs is capacity building as a series of strategies aimed at increasing efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of performance. This study was directed to explore capacity building implementation at Darul Amin Islamic modern boarding school Southeast Aceh. A qualitative research approach with a case study as the research strategy was implemented. The results of the study showed that capacity building focused on three dimensions, namely (1) human resource development; (2) organizational strengthening, and (3) institutional reform. The principle of Darul Amin capacity building contained the elements of participation, repetition, relevance, transfer, and feedback. In the process of capacity building, there were four stages, namely (1) pre-formal stage (pilot education organization); (2) formal stage (potential education organization); (3) transitional stage (national standard education organization); and (4) autonomous stage (international standard education organization). Towards the existence of the institution, Darul Amin also made various efforts at various levels, namely the system level, organizational level, and individual level.

Abstract

Isu strategis yang menjadi permasalahan pendidikan dewaasa ini antara lain pencapaian mutu yang rendah melihat produktivitas lulusan, faktor yang berkaitan dengan issue value for money dan faktor akuntabilitas pendidikan. Perilaku Organisasi meliputi kumpulan yang kompleks mengenai ideologi, simbol, dan nilai inti yang berlaku dalam perusahaan dan mempengaruhi cara menjalankan usahanya. Mempertajam budaya organisasi merupakan tugas sentral kepemimpinan strategik yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana perilaku organisasi berpengaruh terhadap proses perubahan organisasi. Implementasi Perubahan merupakan sebuah proses yang berpangkal dari perubahan cara berfikir (mindset). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (Library Research) Sumber data primernya adalah teori perilaku organisasi. sumber data sekundernya adalah teori perubahan, manajemen strategic, dan produktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pikiran orang yang berada didalam organisasi membentuk pikiran organisasi yang kemudian menghasilkan nilai-nilai sekolah, lalu kondisi tersebut menghasilkan tindakan yang baik. Komponen peningkatan produktivitas dalam konteks output pendidikan yaitu (1) sikap kerja; (2) tingkat keterampilan; (3) hubungan antara lingkungan; (4) manajemen produktivitas; (5) efisiensi tenaga kerja; dan (6) kewiraswastaan. The Strategic issues that are currently the problem of education this time include the achievement of low quality seeing graduate productivity, factors related to issue value for money and factors of educational accountability. Organizational behavior includes a complex collection of ideologies, symbols, and core values that apply in the company and influences the way to run the business. Establishing an organizational culture is the main task of effective strategic leadership. This study aims to reveal how organizational behavior influences the process of organizational change. Implementation of Change is a process that stems from changes of mindset. This research is library research. The primary data source is the theory of organizational behavior. Secondary data sources are change theory, strategic management, and productivity. Research result show that thoughts of people who are in the organization build the mind of the organization to build a good condition that will produced good performance. Component of increasing productivity in the context of educational output are (1) work attitude; (2) skill competence; (3) environment relationship; (4) productivity management; (5) labor efficiency and (6) entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Kompleksitas permasalahan pendidikan tinggi akibat kerumitan memahami filsafat, untuk itu perlu sebuah desain kurikulum yang membuat mahasiswa faham dan bijak menyikapi ilmu yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini membahas pengembangan kurikulum jurusan Manajemen Pendidikan Islam pada Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan IAIN Lhokseumawe yang juga merupakan bentuk implementasi kebijakan pemerintah melalui revisi kurikulum KKNI. Mengingat peran fundamental ilmu filsafat, maka perlu kajian mendalam dalam kajian manajemen sehingga lahirlah mata kuliah Filsafat Manajemen sebagai salah satu bagian implementasi kurikulum KKNI pada jurusan MPI di IAIN Lhokseumawe. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan data dikumpulkan melalui hasil observasi dan wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh Filsafat manajemen memberikan pengertian tentang hubungan positif antara kepercayaan dengan praktek. Praktek manajemen yang dilandasi kepercayaan akan nilai agama adalah yang paling efektif dan mengakar. Melalui pemahaman yang komprehensif antara pemikiran filosofis dengan praktek manajemen mampu menciptakan harmonisasi kerja dan peningkatan ukhuwah antar individu dalam sebuah organisasi pendidikan. Kompetensi dalam mengkonstruk pemikiran menjadi hal kongkrit yang dipraktekan dalam pola manajerial dapat dilakukan dengan tahap berikut (1) mengidentifikasi masalah; (2) internalisasi nilai keislaman dalam pengambilan keputusan; (3) pelaksanaan manajemen dengan pendekatan filosofis tentang orientasi keumatan; dan (4) pengembangan kompetensi menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Education problems are very complex because the manager doesn't understand about philosophy bring about fault in managing of education instituion. Therefore, need a new design curriculum which makes students understand and wise responded to knowledge have learned. This study aims to the curriculum development of the Islamic Education Management Department at the IAIN Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Lhokseumawe as a form of KKNI curriculum implementation. Accordingly, the importance of philosophy in depth study through management philosophy course. By using the qualitative research the data was collected using observation and interview. From this study finds that management philosophy provided an understanding of the positive relationship between trust and practice. Management practices based on trust in religious values are the most effective and entrenched. Through a comprehensive understanding of philosophical thinking with management practices able to create harmonization of work and increase ukhuwah between individuals in an educational organization. Competence in constructing thinking becomes a concrete thing that is practiced in managerial patterns can be done with the following stages (1) problem identification; (2) internalizing Islamic values in decision making; (3) implementation of management with a philosophical approach to societal orientation; and (4) competency development faces future challenges.

Abstract

Fokus penelitian pada strategi dalam meningkatkan layananakademik dan bagaimana kinerja karyawan di Fakultas Tarbiyah dan IlmuKeguruan IAIN Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitianlapangan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukanmelalui teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Prosedur yangdigunakan dalam menganalisis data dengan menggunakan ringkasananalisis faktor strategis menggunakan teori Dessler yang meliputikualitasm, kuantitas, efektivitas, kemandirian dan ketepatan waktu. Subjekpenelitian pada Kepala Sub Bagian Umum Akademik, Pegawai akademik,dan mahasiswa FTIK. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa layananakademik belum menunjukkan stabilitas kinerja yang memuaskansehingga diperlukan strategi dalam meningkatkan kinerja. Penyusunanstrategi didahului oleh analisis SWOT. Melalui hasil analisis dapatdiidentifikasi beragam faktor penyebab yang dapat dikategorikan menjadidua faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal seperti fasilitas fisik,kehandalan, keyakinan dan empati. Sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputikecenderungan politik dan ekonomi, dukungan stakeholder, dan pernanankolaborator dan kompetitor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bagaimana tipe kepemimpinan,reward dan punishment menjadi faktor penunjang naiknya performa kinerjaguru. Guru yang baik dan rajin serta menempatkan dirinya benar-benarmenjadi seorang guru hendaknya diberi reward sehingga ia terustermotivasi mempertahankan prestasinya tersebut. Sebaliknya, guru yangmalas bekerja, mengajar dengan asal-asalan dan tidak menyadari hakikatdirinya sebagai seorang guru mestinya dikenakan sanksi (punishment)sehingga dapat memberi pelajaran baginya untuk memperbaiki diri danmeningkatkan kinerjanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatankualitatif fenomenologis. Penggunaan metode tersebut untuk menemukanhal-hal mendasar dan esensial fenomena, realitas, dan dampak pemberianreward dan punishment. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalampenelitian ini observasi partisipatif aktif, wawancara semi-strukturbersama pimpinan pesantren, pendidik Pesantren Darul Amin AcehTenggara. Hasil peningkatan kinerja guru berupa peningkatan loyalitaskepada pimpinan. Peningkatan disiplin waktu pada saat mengajar,maupun rapat rutin, selain itu beberapa guru juga aktif terlibat dalamberbagaimacam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler meski tanpa honorarium.Sebenarnya faktor pendukung yang paling besar terhadap kesuksesanpelaksanaan program karena nilai-nilai kehidupan di pesantren yangsudah mangakar bagi para guru. Nilai tersebut adalah nilai keikhlasan sertarasa patuh terhadap pimpinan sebagai atasan mereka di Pesantren.

Abstract

This empirical study observed the effects of organizational climate and transformative leadership on teacher’s performance of Sholahuddin Gayo Lues Islamic Boarding School. This study used quantitative approach using survey method. The data collection technique used questionnaires with likert scale. These research samples are all population so it can be said to be the population research. Descriptive statistic and regression analysis were used to describe variation in organizational climate transformative leadership and teacher performance. Through statistic hypothesis calculation, results of the research show that organizational climate and transformative leadership have great effects on the teacher performance.

Abstract

The curriculum reform became part of the improvement of the education system in Indonesia. The study describes the principal's role in implementation of the 2013 curriculum (K-13) in SMAN 4 of Lhokseumawe City. The framing of curriculum and the theory of professionalism to investigate the impact of principal professionalism in the implementation process. Research is of a descriptive qualitative type with phenomenological analysis. Data was collected from the results of interviews against principals, teachers and some randomly selected pupils. The results of the study showed that implementation of K-13 provides autonomy to teachers in curriculum development. The 2013 curriculum demanded an active role thus becoming a stimulus in improving teacher professionalism. K-13 has the potential to form a professional and competitive teacher character. Whereas the principal's role among others became a teacher's participation mediator in curriculum training; the principal became a supervisor; the principal became a participator in regular meetings. The factor that the principal faces consists of a lack of means of K-13-based learning support infrastructure; a lack of student participation in the learning process at the school. The expected implication, for theoretical constructs of research results to be the subject of decision-making considerations in terms of increased quality of education through the curriculum k-13.
