Abstract

Graphology is scientific method to evaluation personality and emotion condition through handwriting and signature. There are many features to identify personality so that previous researches made handwriting analysis automatically. There are page margins, spacing, baseline, vertical zone, font size, slant, pen pressure, and the type t letter. While other studies used features of signature. As image, the analysis of graphology is divided into two approaches that graphics features and segmentation digit each character. This research integrated both of approach to identify personality of handwriting. It used speed and the type of a, d, i m, t letters as features using structure analysis and artificial neural networks. Type of letter recognition was done after character segmentation. Wavelet transform was used to improve recognition. The proposed methods could be used to identify personality of handwriting. Identification of speed feature using structure analysis toward page margin, spacing between lines, and spacing between words that gave 81% accuracy. While identification of unique letters using neural network with multilayer perceptron architecture, which gave 74% accuracy. Variations training data greatly affect recognition.

Abstract

This study is aimed to find out which technique is better in improving students‟ vocabulary mastery. The techniques used in this research are Jigsaw Reading and Think-Pair Share. This is a quantitative research with quasi experiment design. The researcher took two classes to apply those techniques. After conducting the treatments for four meetings, the students of each group are given the vocabulary test. The data were analyzed by using t-test with SPSS program. The result showed that Think-Pair Share is better than Jigsaw Reading to apply in the classroom to improve the students‟ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Student‟s tenses matery is influenced by many factors. One of them is the technique which the teacher uses in teaching. The research applied Minimal Sentence Pairs in teaching tenses in the classroom. Then, it analyzed the result of the technique in order to know its influence.The research was conducted at the second semester of the eighth class of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung. The students of 8C was as experimental class that was taught by Minimal Sentence Pairs and 8D was as control class that was taught by Conventional Technique. The samples were taken based on cluster random sampling technique. To analyze the data, this research used experimental method by using t-test formula.The result shows that there is positive influence of Minimal Sentence Pairs towards students‟ tensen mastery at the second semester of the eighth class of SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung. It is shown from distribution list with dk=78 obtained the tratio is t0.975 or significant level of 5% and tratio t0.95 and significant level of 1% equals to 2.00 and 1.67. They are smaller than tcal (t-test) = 11.86. The average score of the students‟ tenses mastery who are taught by minimal sentence pairs X1= 81.73 is higher than who are taught by conventional technique X2= 53.15.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze  financial feasibility and added value of banana chip agroindustries. This research was conducted in  five districts in Metro City. This research used a census method. Total respondents were twelve agro-industries that produce banana chips. The analysis tool used in this research were financial analysis and the analysis of value-added Hayami model. The results showed that the banana chip agro-industries in Metro City both micro and small scale industries were  financially feasible. The NPVs of micro scale agroindustry were Rp61,724,706.80 – Rp545,335,264.28, IRR values 44.82 - 72.84 percent and  payback periods from 1 year and 2 months 5 days to 4 years 4 months and 3 days.  As for small  scale agroindustry, NPVs were Rp633,256,802.33 – Rp817,129,687.43 , IRR values 45.85 - 56.12 percent, and  payback periods  from 2 years 0 months 6 days - 6 years 3 months and 3 day.Key words: added value, banana chip agroindustry,  financial analysis

Abstract

Vocabulary is entirely important to be learns. In order that the students can express their minds, make sentences, interact and also catch the meaning from the context. This research applied Word Webs Game in teaching vocabulary. This research analyzed the result of application of the technique in order to know the influence of Word Webs game.The number all population in this research are 161 students. It used an experimental method in this research. It took two classes as the sample. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling Technique. The form of the test is objective test that is multiple choice that consist of 50 items of vocabulary test.Before conducting the research, it is assumed that the students had the same characteristics, qualities and also status. The result of the research showed that there was positive influence of Word Webs Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the second semester at SMP Dharmapala Bandar Lampung in 2012/2013. It is shown from the distribution list df = 40 obtained the 3.24 and for α = 5 % or 2.00, α = 1 % or 0.01 = 2.66, so the result is 2.00 < 3.24 > 2.66. So, Ho is accepted and ha is rejected.The Average score of post test in experiment class was 68.75, while the average score of post test in control class was 57.67. It is indicated that the average score of post test in experiment class was higher than the average score of post test in control class. So, it can be concluded that there was positive influence in of Word Webs game towards students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This study is aimed to find out the type of deixis used by the teacher in teaching and learning process. The method used in this research is qualitative research. After analyzing the data, the writer found that person deixis is the type of deixis that mostly used by the teacher in teaching ang learning process. The use of deixis, whether it is person deixis, spatial deixis and temporal deixis is good in communication. It can help the speaker easier to deliver his/her opinion or thingking to the listener. In this case, it is between the teacher and the students.

Abstract

Long peanut is one of the sources of protein which is easy to develop in every region. The problem of increasing the production of Long peanut is the existence of pest that destroys Long peanut. Pestwhich attack Long peanut is Aphis craccivora. In relation to that, it has been done a research about the population of  Aphis craccivora of Long peanut in regency of  Kuranji, Kuranji district,Padang. This research had been done on Mey 2007 in a garden of a farmer.  This research used descriptive method, that is the observation directly to the field, and the data collection used Chemical Knock Down technique. Identification is done in the Laboratory of HPT department, Agriculture faculty,University ofAndalas,Padang. From this research, it is found that the population of Aphis craccivora is 83, 62 per plant. The population of Aphis craccivora is above the economic line.Key words: population, long peanut,  Aphis craccivora, density

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berbasis masalah matematika kontekstual dengan siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah  Quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di MTs Negeri 2 Kendari tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII-3 dan VIII-4 dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan random sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa di kelas yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair share berbasis masalah matematika kontekstual lebih tinggi daripada kelas yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah, think pair share, kontekstual Abstract: This study aims at understanding Comparison Mathematics solving problems ability between students whom are taught under Think Pair Share learning approach on contextual Math-based problems and those whom are taught under conventional one. This study uses quasi experiment method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The population in this study is all students grade VIII at the MTs Negeri 2 Kendari in academic year 2018/2019 while the students of samples consists of VIII-3 and VIII-4, which is selected by using both random and purposive sampling methods. Data is analysed using a descriptive and inferential statistic. Results of the research shows that students whom are taught under Think Pair Share learning approach have higher score than their friends whom are taught with the conventional approach. Keywords: Mathematics Problem Solving Skill, Think Pair Share, Contextual
