Abstract

The purpose of this activity was to improve the calligraphers’ understanding and ability of judging in Al-Qur’an Calligraphy competition which was developed. The subjects of this activity were calligraphers from Gresik East Java. The method that used in this activity was: lecture, question and answer, discussion and practice. The result of this activity showed that the workshop of judging Al-Qur’an calligraphy competition was able to improve the participants’ ability in judging calligraphy, adding the knowledge and applying judgment method in calligraphy competition especially in Musabaqah Khattil Qur’an (Qur’an calligraphy competition).

Abstract

This training activity aimed to provide understanding & application of simple media to teachers at Kuncup Melati Sooko Kindergarten, Mojokerto. The subjects of this training were the early childhood teachers of Kuncup Melati Sooko Kindergarten. In implementing this training, the researcher used demonstration, practice, and discussion. These training results indicated that it increased the teachers' ability to develop simple media and their application in learning at the early childhood education level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the difficulties of students in speaking English. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method in this study. The subjects of this study were eighth-grade students A and D SMPIT At-Taqwa 2018/2019 academic year consisting of 40 students and English teachers. Data collections of this study were observation, student questionnaires, and student and teacher interviews. The results of this study indicate that 25% of students have difficulty speaking English. The efforts made by students and teachers to overcome difficulties in speaking English such as: taking English tutoring, listening English songs, practicing reading, writing and speaking at home and school. They also communicate through social media with foreign citizens, joining English Camp, watching western movies or change film subtitles with English. Then the solution given by the teacher is an additional lesson hour to support students who felt difficult in speaking English.
