Abstract

The research aims were to identify the biophysical condition of agroforestry land in Salua Village, to analyze the socio-economic and community institution condition in Salua Village, and to analyze the sustainability of agroforestry system perceived from the aspects of land biophysical condition, socio-economic and community institution condition in Salua Village. This research was an explorative-descriptive study done through survey method. Data collected was by interviewing respondents and by direct observation and measurement in the field. The number of respondents was 30 people included village government officer, members of traditional institutions and farmer groups who live in Salua village. The tool of analysis consisted of vegetation analysis, soil analysis, socio-economic analysis, institutional analysis and sustainability analysis using Likert scale of 1,3 and 5. The soil analysis indicated that soil nutrient contents were still very good for supporting plant growth. The socio-economic condition was dependent upon land tenure, profit-sharing system, and area size of tilled land and plant types.  Increasing production is strongly needed by the farmers. The four dimension aggregate index showed that the average value was 50% for the socio-economic dimension, 66.7% for the ecology, 60%for the production and 100% for the institution. Based on the analysis on vegetation, socio-economy, institution and sustainability using Likert scale, it can be concluded that the condition of agroforestry land in Salua village tend to be sustained.

Abstract

Background:Elderly period is a part of growth process. During this time,elderly will gradually experiencephysical, mental and social degeneration. Elderlywill alsoencounterseveral health problems including blood vessel disorders, metabolic disorders, joint disorders, and psycho-social disorders. The elderly welfare is assessed from their quality of life. Quality of life is used widely as anindication of the psychological welfare of elder age. Objective: To investigate the relationship between social support and quality of life of the elderly in the village of Cebogan, Sleman Methods: This study was quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was the elderly in the village of Cebongan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Sampleswere chosenwith random sampling. The data analysis used Pearson product moment. Results:Elderly in the village of Cebongan, Sleman, were mostly aged 60-70 years old, and male. Social support which was givenwasof average 3.87 (SD= 0.329). Quality of life of the elderly was of average values as follows; physical quality of 65.31, psychology quality of 62.47, social quality of 70.14, environmental quality of 65.48, and cumulative quality of 65.85 (SD= 11.531). The result of Pearson Product examination figured out p= 0,000<0,05 with correlative coefficient value of 0,616. Conclusion: There was a relationshipbetween social support and quality of life of the elderly in the village of Cebongan, Sleman, with closesignificance level. Abstract

This paper aims to reveal coffee-related innovations based on the number of registered patents in Indonesia. This paper used a desk study with a literature review and a descriptive analysis method. A literature study to identify existing innovations from registered documents through patent mining, sourced from Indonesian and WIPO patent databases. Findings. The results from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights of Indonesia's patent search, the registered patent on coffee is 202 patents. From the invention technology, the innovations group into coffee processing as beverage (53%), coffee processing equipment (27%), extraction process (5%), and coffee breeding or plantation process (3%), and other (11%). Also, 75% of patent owners are not from Indonesia but dominate Switzerland, America, and other countries.
