Abstract

This research is intended to develop a web-based learning application “Mahir Berbahasa” to support the learning process of BIPA students at IKIP Budi Utomo. The software used in the development of this application is the Codeigniter and Bootstrap Framework. It is hoped that this application will become a student learning medium that can make it easier for foreign students to continue studying wherever they are. This type of research is R&D development research. The development model used is the development of Borg and Gall. The results of this research development product in the form of "Mahir Berbahasa" learning applications have been tested and have received good ratings from users and validators. The assessment includes aspects of visual appearance, aspects of media relevance, aspects of material organization, aspects of software engineering, aspects of effects for learning strategies, and aspects of language. From a value range of 1-5, the user gives a mean value of 4.72, while the validator gives a value of 4.52. Based on this assessment, this learning application is in the category of feasible to use.

Abstract

Analyzing the speech of Lara Pangkon in Ngantang this study aims to determine the forms of speech acts, explain its meaning and how the delivery of this speech. By using descriptive qualitative research methods, and narrative in Lara Pangkon as a primary source as well as the book the documentation as the source of secondary data. Acquisition of data through observation, interview, check out the note, and documentation. Data processing techniques are as follows: (1) a transcript and translation of the data, (2) the classification of the data, (3) data analysis, and (4) the exposure of the conclusion of the study. The end result of this research is there are 2(two) speech acts expressive, 2(two) said follow the directive, 2( two) speech acts assertive and 2( two) speech acts komisif are delivered with obvious can be delivered in a concise and straightforward and each speech act are said illocutionary.

Abstract

The development of science and technology increasingly encourages renewal efforts in the use of technological results in the learning process. Media that can support learning include computer media. In the era of pandemic, distance learning is very much needed and recommended to suppress the spread of COVID 19. There are many learning media platforms that can be used during distance learning today. Teachers are required to develop skills in making media or developing learning media because the methods and learning media used by teachers greatly affect the results of the teaching and learning process. Thus, there is a need for training in making online-based learning media that will be used during a pandemic and distance learning.

Abstract

The present study aims at exams the effectiveness of small group discusssion in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text of the tenth -grade students of SMA NEGERI 1 WOLOWAE. Teaching reading comprehension is recommended in Senior High School because reading comprehension is very important. In competence based on curriculum, students are understanding to comprehending the conten of the text. The research is carried out through quantitative research with an experimental method because the researcher gives treatment in teaching writing. In conducting the research, the researcher uses one group pre-test-post-test design. The researcher gave pre-test before treatment and post-test after treatment to get the data. In this research, the researcher took twenty students as a sample. The result of the study shows that the score of pre-test was 61 while the mean score of post-test was 81.5 and the mean score of differentiate was 20.5. On the other side, it was found that the result of t-score is bigger than t-table (9,71 > 2,11) at the significant level of 0,05. Therefore, based on the hypothesis testing, we can conclude that the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the using small group discussion as a method is effective to increase students reading comprehension of the students’ of Senior High School, especially for the tenth grade of SMA NEGERI 1 WOLOWAE. Based on this findings, it is suggested, that the teacher should try to apply an interesting method.

Abstract

The purpose of developing illustrated vocabulary animation game media for kindergarten – A students at Pelita Kasih Lawang Kindergarten is that early childhood can concentrate and understand the content of the material so that they are able to repeat simple words with correct pronunciation. Early childhood is also expected to be able to repeat words that have been listened to friends and teachers. Researchers compiled an animated vocabulary game media developer pictured in learning English, by making a Research and Development (R&D) development research design, which is research used to produce certain products, and test the validity of these products. This Research and Development procedure is an adaptation of Sugiono's theory (2011 : 297), namely : 1) Potential and Problems, 2) Data Collection, 3) Product Design, 4) Design Validation, 5) Usage Trial, 6) Product Revision, 7) Product Trial, 8) Design Revision. Product Trial, 8) Design Revision. The data analysis technique used is qualitative and quantitative analysis in the form of percentages. The results of this research and development obtained are : 94.44% of the learning expert validation results, 96.15% of the media expert validation results, 91.11% of the small group trial results, and 95.68% of the field trial results. Based on these results, the development of animated media in language learning is classified as feasible to use. Based on the validation results, observations on small group trials and field trials, it can be concluded that the development of animated media in language learning is very interesting, fun, and easy to use. It is hoped that the results of the development of animated media in language learning can be developed even better, more effective, and right on target. So that it can be utilised according to the needs and achieve the goals of early childhood language learning.

Abstract

Some students have difficulty in speaking English, and this happens because of various problems. One of the problems is vocabulary and pronunciation. Based on the problems stated, this study aims to explain the use of the Powtoon application as one of the learning resources needed by students. Powtoon is one of alternative application learning speaking for students now days. Powtoon application can improve student’s speaking ability because Powtoon application is a cartoon learning video that very interesting.

Abstract

Linguistics is the science of language that develops from time to time. The development of linguistics has an important role in teaching English. Students are expected to be aware of these developments and have knowledge of languages ​​so that they are able to find or apply suitable methods in teaching English when they become teachers later.

Abstract

Komunitas Jelajah Jejak Malang (JJM) merupakan komunitas yang bergerak dalam bidang pengenalan warisan dan peninggalan sejarah dan budaya yang ada di Kota Malang. Komunitas Jelajah Jejak Malang (JJM) melakukan aktifitasnya dengan aktif dalam suatu diskusi ilmiah dan perawatan peninggalan warisan-warisan budaya yang ada di Malang dengan mempromosikannya melalui platfom facebook, Instagram dan youtube dimana platfom tersebut sangat dirasa kurang dalam mempromosikan sejarah dan budaya Kota Malang ke tingkat dunia. Dalam pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan dan pengalaman wisata di situs-situs sejarah Malang, dengan menyediakan tour guide secara virtual atau elektronik dengan e-heritage arts and culture yang di dukung oleh aktivitas komunitas Jelajah Jejak Malang (JJM). Metode yang dipakai dalam mendukung tujuan pengabdian ini terlaksana adalah dengan mengadakan pelatihan untuk komunitas Jelajah Jejak Malang (JJM) tentang e-heritage arts and culture sebagai upaya dalam mengenalkan warisan sejarah dan budaya Kota Malang lebih luas lagi. Sehingga hasil pengabdian ini menjadikan Komunitas Jelajah Jejak Malang (JJM) dapat memanfaatkan platfom teknologi informatika lebih luas dan lengkap dalam mengenalkan warisan dan budaya Kota Malang melalui e-heritage arts and culture.
