Abstract

In certain settlement, human always interact with the physical setting arround of them. That interaction causesperception inside of that human, because perception is the process of organizing and interpretating of stimulusprovided by the environment (Rita, 1983). So the perception is strongly influenced by the individual human andphysical surroundings. Based on the theory of perception, found problems in Tambak Mulyo as fishermensettlement in Semarang, where the inhabitants of Tambak Mulyo do the communal activities on the roadenvironment. Road environment should be a mode of land transport circulation is also used for the communalspace. Seeing this phenomenon, it can be concluded that there is the perception of communal space in thefishermen settlement in Tambak Mulyo. And this study aimed to explore the factors forming the perception ofcommunal space.In answering the research objectives, the research paradigm used is a quantitative rationalistic to constructfactor variables. In constructing the factor variabless, based on the theory that the perception of the individualand the setting up of the physical environment (Sarlito, 1992). So that the required variables are perceptionvariables and variables of communal space. The variables is operationalized into a questionnaire that is easy tounderstand the respondents, next after the questionnaire data collected, the data were analyzed using factoranalysis statistical test, so of many variable factors that could wake is reduced to just a few factors thatsignificantly causes the perception of communal space in the fishermen settlement.At the output of this research, revealed about the causal factors of the perception of communal space in thefishermen settlement. These factors is a collection of variable factors that have a strong correlation in theanalysis. By knowing the factors forming the perception of communal space in the fishing settlement, expected toprovide input in the planning and design of fishing settlements.Key words : Perception, Communal Space, Physical Setting

Abstract

Kota Lama Semarang sebagai kawasan bangunan Kolonial Belanda, merupakan kawasan Cagar Budaya yang wajib dilestarikan dan dilindungi keberadaanya. Upaya pelestarian yang dilakukan dari berbagai pihak telah menunjukkan hasil dengan aktif dan terawatnya beberapa bangunan kolonial disana. Namun masih terdapat pula sejumlah bangunan yang berkondisi buruk. Kondisi bangunan yang rawan roboh, fasade bangunan yang rusak dengan cat yang mengelupas dan ditumbuhi tanaman liar. Hal itu merupakan bentuk pengaruh alami dari iklim di Indonesia. Menyikapi fenomena tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh iklim tropis lembab terhadap kerusakan fasade bangunan kolonial tersebut dengan metoda deskriptif kualitatif. Lokus penelitian difokuskan pada bangunan di koridor jl. Letjen Suprapto. Sebagian besar bangunan kolonial di Kota Lama Semarang telah direnovasi dan difungsikan kembali. Namun ada pula sejumlah bangunan yang tidak difungsikan, tidak terawat hingga rawan roboh dan bahkan sudah roboh. Begitu pula kondisi bangunan yang ada di Jl. Letjen Suprapto. Sebagian bangunan yang direnovasi masih mempertahankan bentuk awalnya (khas bangunan kolonial) dan difungsikan sebagai bangunan komersial. Kondisi fasade bangunan juga diperbaharui sehingga memperindah citra kawasan. Namun terdapat pula fasade bangunan yang tidak diperbaharui walaupun bangunan difungsikan kembali. Fasade bangunan tersebut berkondisi buruk dengan cat yang usang, mengelupas dan ditumbuhi tanaman liar. Sama halnya dengan bangunan yang tidak direnovasi dan tidak difungsikan. Kondisinya rawan roboh dan fasade bangunan usang tak terawat. Dalam pengamatan dari luar bangunan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa rusaknya fasade bangunan-bangunan kolonial di koridor jl. Letjen. Suprapto disebabkan kurangnya upaya perawatan sehingga elemen yang rusak karena lapuk disebabkan kondisi yang lembab, atau terkena air hujan selama bertahun tahun, tidak segera diatasi dengan perawatan yang memadai atau dengan penggantian elemen yang rusak dengan meterial yang sama tampilan arsitekturnya.

Abstract

Perlintasan kereta api merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab adanya pemberhentian kendaraan di suatu ruas jalan yang bila kondisi padat akan menyebabkan kemacetan. Dalam rangka mengantisipasi kemacetan dan memperlancar pergerakan transportasi maka diadakan suatu alternatif solusi semisal pelebaran jalan, pembangunan fly over, ataupun pembangunan underpass. Underpass adalah jalan melintang di bawah jalan lain atau persilangan tidak sebidang dengan membuat terowongan di bawah muka tanah. Jl. Slamet Riyadi di kelurahan Makamhaji, kecamatan Kartasura, Kabupaten Sukoharjo melakukan pembangunan underpass dimaksudkan untuk mengatasi kemacetan lalu lintas yang sering terjadi karena memang merupakan ruas jalan padat ditambah dengan perlintasan kereta api. Namun setelah selesai pembangunan dan difungsikan justru menimbulkan masalah-masalah baru terkait social dan lingkungan Tujuan dalam melakukan penelitian ini adalah agar mengetahui tentang faktor apa saja yang menjadi penyebab masalah lingkungan dan sosial pada proyek underpass ini timbul. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan 4 faktor yang menjadi penyebab kerusakan lingkungan oleh proyek underpass yaitu faktor pengetahuan dalam mengenal lokasi proyek, faktor pemanfaatan kelestarian alam dalam proyek underpass ini kurang bijaksana , faktor teknologi yang kurang memadai, dan faktor kerja sama antara pemerintah dengan warga .

Abstract

Sampah merupakan material sisa yang sudah tidak dipakai, tidak disenangi atau sesuatu yang harus dibuang, yang umumnya berasal dari kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh manusia tetapi bukan kegiatan biologis. Dalam berkegiatan, manusia memproduksi sampah. Karena semakin banyaknya sampah yang dihasilkan manusia perlu melakukan pengelolaan sampah, dengan tujuan mengubah sampah menjadi material yang memiliki nilai ekonomis atau mengolah sampah agar menjadi material yang tidak membahayakan bagi lingkungan hidup. Metode pembahasan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan mengambil studi kasus di kampus Jurusan Arsitektur UNDIP. Permasalahan sampah yang ada saat ini adalah mudahnya masyarakat untuk membuang sampah. Sehingga dalam menyikapi sampah, sering kali masyarakat tidak banyak berpikir ke mana sampah–sampah tersebut dibawa dan apa yang akan terjadi pada sampah tersebut.  Ini akan mendorong masyarakat untuk terus menghasilkan lebih banyak sampah. Sehingga untuk mengurangi jumlah sampah, manusia perlu memperhatikan mengenai jumlah sampah yang dihasilkan dan akibat–akibat yang ditimbulkan. Adanya sistem pengelolaan pengurangan, penggunaan kembali, dan pendaurulangan dalam penanganan sampah di Jurusan Arsitektur UNDIP.   Kata kunci : sampah, pengelolaan, dan 3P.

Abstract

This research responded to environmental issues that arise related to green design as the responsibility of architectural actors. A building is now required to have environmentally friendly values, one of that can be reflected in the energy efficiency of the building. Kudu Flats is one of the towers in the city of Semarang which had several blocks with different orientations. Related to these environmental issues, this study aimed to determine the level of energy efficiency in the Kudu flats with consideration of building orientation, openings and shading devices using quantitative methods based on edge design. This study revealed that flats blocks that have smaller openings in the east-west direction are more energy efficient and rotating the building orientation 15 ° from the wind direction will make the building more energy efficient.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Waisai district in terms of spatial aspects, as an attempt to respond to tourism potential in Raja Ampat with descriptive qualitative methods using a built and architectural environment design approach responding to natural potential. The study successfully concluded that the Waisai District lacked tourism magnets that could attract tourists and support the Raja Ampat tourism sector, and recommended the revitalization of the tourism potential of Waisai city, such as beaches, pedestrian ways, and city parks, hence Raja Ampat can be known for not only its magnificent sea, but also the Waisai’s central business district (CBD).

Abstract

Flats are one of the government's solution to provide decent housing for low-income people. However, as mostly flats overlook energy efficiency aspects, residents must pay high rental and operational costs. Therefore, this paper aims to study the principles of green buildings, especially in the building envelope that can bear the operating costs of flats with the case study on the A-B-C Tower of Tambora Flats. The A-B-C Tower of Tambora Flats is one of the flats building in Jakarta that has rental cost issues. This study employed the EDGE application that provided energy saving values in the application of green building principles, such as building mass and orientation, wall and roof finishing materials, natural shading and ventilation elements. From these values, it was only the application of green building principles that was significant for the Tambora flats. The results of this study revealed that the optimization of natural ventilation for flats was still important and having a significant impact on energy savings

Abstract

This study aims to explore the typology of additional facilities at Tambak Lorok dock in Semarang, Indonesia. The revitalized dock is in an appropriate condition with permanent materials and additional facilities that naturally added by user. These facilities are intended as spaces to support fishing activities. This study employed a qualitative paradigm by collecting primary data in the form of interviews with related actors and physical data in the field. The results of this study revealed two categories of additional space properties, namely static and dynamic. The static additional space has a laying pattern at the edge of the dock bordering the settlement or the sea, whereas the dynamic additional space has a laying pattern at the center of the dock

Abstract

Many industrial buildings are growing in Indonesia, one of them being the fishing industry. However, the industry has a monotonous and rigid facade. The facade is an essential element that makes the first impression. This study aims to evaluate how the facade of an ideal industrial building, especially in the fishing industry. The method used is descriptive qualitative on the several parameters of façade design. The results of the study are in the form of an evaluation and guidelines of the ideal facade, in terms of visuals, functions, and the requirements.

Abstract

One example of the innovation in building construction that is expansively used at present is Glassfiber Reinforced Cement (GRC). GRC is a cement product based on material mixed with fiberglass. GRC is one of the developments of concrete. This product easily and efficiently provides solutions to a variety of building designs. Additionally, its various forms can be applied to numerous types and functions of buildings. This research aimed to identify the suitability of GRC for several functions. The methods in this study employed a type of qualitative research, with data collection techniques in the form of observation and documentation in several examples of buildings that applied the GRC material innovation. Data analysis was obtained from observation related to GRC types, sizes, installation techniques, and functions in the building. Results showed that the GRC had various types, shapes, and sizes. It could be applied to the building exterior or interior. Each building used different GRC specifications tailored to meet needs and design of the building. GRC installation techniques could use the frame or without frames, adapted to the needs and types of GRC used
