Abstract

This research was in the background because of the lack of students in literacy so that researchers sought to improve the creativity of students in writing news texts. The implementation of news text learning teaches students to understand the news text, so that researchers apply the intellectually repetition (AIR) auditory learning model so that students can listen, understand, and rewrite the learning news text that has been understood. The researcher used an experimental method with a design (one group pre-post-test) and collected data with a technique in the form of a pre-test and post-test final test. The sample used was class VIII students with the number 30. The results of the tests that were carried out obtained differences and enhancements, namely in the pre-test the average value obtained was 61.5% while the post-test that had been given treated using the learning model (AIR) obtained the value is 79.33% and the difference between the pretest and post-test is 17.83%. So this learning of the intellectually repetition (AIR) auditory model can be applied by learning to write news texts and the results obtained in the post-test scores get a significant increase of 17.83%.

Abstract

The short story is a fictional narrative with a length of about 500 to 10,000 words and is more focused than a novelet, short stories tend to be short, mostly only telling a single incident, but still paying attention to the elements in it such as themes, characters, plot, background, characterization, message and style of language. The short story "Setangkai Pohon Ibu" by Vaughan Calista, V.P is a literary work that has a message and a useful moral message, and can be used as an appropriate reading source for readers. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to analyze the intrinsic elements contained in the short story? And what mandate can we take in the short story, so that we can draw the final conclusion of the short story. The purpose of this study was to determine the theme, plot, setting, characterization, point of view and mandate in the short story "Setangkai Pohon Ibu" by Vaughan Callista, V.P. The method used in this research is descriptive method, in which data is decomposed in the form of words or pictures, not in the form of numbers. This research form uses a structural approach. The short story "Set a Ibu Pohon" by Vaughan Callista, VP with the theme of love, the characters involved are Daniel, mother, and father, the plot used by the writer is a forward plot with a background where it refers to the hospital, garden, Daniel's room, the time setting shows morning. days, an atmosphere of tension, sadness and happiness. The point of view used is the third person pronoun, as for the mandate contained in a short story "A Mother's Tree" is that we must always keep nature in order to keep it beautiful by guarding the trees and not cutting it carelessly, because by protecting nature, it will be very many benefits to our future

Abstract

The background of this research is based on an interest in studying the physical structure in poetry. Because it can be seen from the very simple choice of words. Even though it is taken from everyday language, it can produce a distinct beauty. Able to make readers understand the meaning conveyed, so that they are carried away with the poetry as in the poem "in my prayer"  by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The purpose of this study 1) to analyze the physical structure "in my prayer" by Sapardi Djoko Damono, 2) to describe the poems in my prayer by Sapardi Djoko Damono in sound and language. In this study using a qualitative descriptive method is a method used to find knowledge of research subjects at a certain time. This study also uses a structural approach. The subject is the poem in prayer by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The results of this study can be seen  in terms of sound divided into several parts, namely rhyme, kakafoni and ephony, onomatopoeia, anaphora and epiphora, asonation, and alliteration. Where as in language there are vocabulary, choice of words or diction, images or pengimajian (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and movement). Language with language (comparison, personification, metaphor, allegory, parable, metonomia, and synekdoke), rhetorical language, concrete language, grammar, and typography of language. So, the sound and language will be analyzed one by one. As for the topic of this research, it is able to inspire everyone to be able to make literary works better by paying attention to the structure contained in poetry.Keywords: Rhymes, Sounds, Sapardi Djoko Damono

Abstract

This article discusses a surrealist short story. The approach used in this study is Pierce's semiotics approach, which is to discuss the signs in the short story anthology entitled "A Piece of Dusk for My Girl" by Seno Gumira Adji Darma. These signs have a certain meaning / significance closely related to the community system. The sign can be seen from the use of the language used. The signs that exist in literary works must be revealed to find out the message to be conveyed by the author. This study aims to determine the relationship between the sign with the reference based on the nature of the ground, (1) Sinsign, (2) Qualisign, and (3) Legisign. With semiotics, readers can capture the message or intent of a short story that is not clearly displayed by the author. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This article examines the trilogy that exists in the short story anthology entitled A Twilight Piece for My Boyfriend, Answer Alina, Postman in a total of 41 pages. In the shorts story trilogy, researches found 21 interrelated signs. The sign is examined with Pierce’s semiotics it becomes a series of meaningful stories so that the message can be clearly known.

Abstract

Poetry is a literature which contains many elements of the building one of which is the meaning of poetry. To analyze the meaning of a poem can be used a semiotic approach to poetry. Semiotic has a meaning as a sign, the sign here can be a theme, value or meaning of a word or sentence in a poem. In this study the researcher will analyze a poem entitled “karangan bunga” by Taufik ismail using a semiotic approach. Research is based on the researchers’ curiosity about themes, meanings or values in poetry “karangan bunga”. The formulation of the problem to be examined is, how is the semiotic analysis of the poetry “karangan bunga” titled Taufik ismail. The aim is to find meaning, theme, or value contained in poetry “karangan bunga”. The results obtained by researchers in this semiotic analysis namely, poetry “karangan bung” has the theme of struggle or heroism, moral values can be seen from the there small childern who appreciate and respect the services of someone who sacrifices to fight for the welfare of the people of Indonesia by giving a bouquet of flowers. The mening of the poem is about the sadnees and sorrow of the there childern towards the struggle of a student who was shot because he demanded the dissolution of the PKI.

Abstract

Masalah utama penelitian ini pelaksanaan program tabungan literasi dan pengaruhnya terhadap pembelajaran menulis teks tanggapan di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Cimahi. Permasalahannya yaitu (1) pelaksanaan program Tabungan Literasi di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Cimahi, dan (2) pengaruh program Tabungan Literasi terhadap pembelajaran menulis teks tanggapan di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Bandung. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah memotret dan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan pengaruh TL terhadap pembelajaran menulis teks tanggapan di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Cimahi. Dengan asumsi bahwa program TL dapat menjadi pendorong peningkatan pembelajaran menulis teks tanggapan di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Cimahi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 1 Kota Cimahi dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, penyebaran angket, dan pencatatan lapangan. Selanjutnya data diolah dengan cara pengorganisasian data, penjabaran data, pelaksanaan sintesa, penyusunan data, pemiliha data, dan penyimpulan data. Dalam simpulan ditemukan bahwa tabungan literasi dapat mempengaruhi pembelajaran menulis teks tanggap di siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 2 Kota Cimahi. Kata Kunci: tabungan literasi, pembelajaran menulis, teks tanggapan

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of students' ability to know, understand and write the text of the observation report as measured by the results of the evaluation and previous interviews with students randomly. Besides, due to the inaccurate use of models, methods, approaches or strategies that are commonly used by teachers in the learning process, it raises problems in planning, implementation and the resulting products. Based on the analysis and observations, the researcher formulated a problem in how the form of planning, implementation and evaluation results from learning to write observation texts using the discovery approach. From the research formulation, the researcher has a specific research objective, namely to determine the planning, implementation and learning outcomes of writing a text report on the observation results using the discovery approach. To achieve this goal, the research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on previous studies that have succeeded in improving learning outcomes. The subjects of the study were students of class X SMA XIX Kartika 1 Bandung in the 2018-2019 academic year. Based on the results of the description and analysis of data discussion in cycle 1 and cycle II, the ability of students in the Observation Result Report (LHO) material increased by 35%. It can be concluded that the students' abilities have increased through the discovery approach in understanding and writing texts both in terms of text structure and language.

Abstract

A special model is needed to stimulate higher order thinking in students. Given a problem to be able to reach a high level of understanding, High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) is also needed so that in the future students can be more productive and creative. This study aims as a development effort in improving reading skills through the HOTS mode. The research method used is quantitative or experimental research. The design used was a quasi-experimental research design. Then the subjects studied were the IKIP Siliwangi students for the academic year 2020-2021. The number of second-level students was 48 people. The score in the first cycle is 2.55 or has an achievement level of 51% which is in the qualification which is almost enough to be sufficient. The score in the second cycle is 3.41 or has an achievement level of 68.2% which is more than good enough qualification. Thus, there was a growth of 17.2% from cycle I. Meanwhile, the score for the third cycle or the last cycle was 3.80.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see how the effectiveness of project-based learning with a scientific approach was able to improve students' ability to write explanatory texts. This study uses a quasi-experimental method by using a research design in the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The samples used were two classes, namely class XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class with 36 students receiving project-based learning treatment and class X MIPA 2 as a control class with 36 students receiving problem-based learning treatment. The results of the explanatory text writing test based on observations showed data that project-based learning was more effective in improving students' explanatory text writing skills, this was also reinforced by the data from observations that showed that 95% of students were more motivated to improve their explanatory text writing skills when using project-based learning
