Abstract

This study aims to see the effectiveness of COVID-19 disaster mitigation literacy education on students' knowledge about the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the use of masks, washing hands and maintaining a distance known as health protocols. This study also revealed the response of students to literacy education for the COVID-19 disaster in schools. The research was carried out in class X MIPA 1 SMAN 2 Mataram with Define, Design, Develop, and Desseminate (4D) designs. The results of the study found that literacy education for COVID-19 disaster mitigation was effective in increasing students' knowledge about the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the application of health protocols in schools in the normal era of life. Students also gave a positive response to the COVID-19 disaster mitigation literacy education in schools.

Abstract

Corona Virus (Covid-19) is a new type of virus that is transmitted from human to human through the mouth, nose and eyes. This virus attacks the respiratory system which can lead to death. This virus makes the world restless, because it is a new type of virus, so many parties do not know and do not understand how to deal with it. One thing that can be done to reduce the risk of being exposed to Covid-19 is to be disciplined in implementing health protocols. Health protocols are only limited to efforts to protect themselves from patient droplets, but do not provide full protection. SMAN 2 Mataram is one of the schools with 1685 students and 36 study groups. The large number of students and groups makes SMAN 2 Mataram vulnerable to Covid-19 transmission. There is no other choice, except to prepare students as early as possible to have awareness in mitigating the Covid-19 disaster at school. One of the efforts made is literacy education for the Covid-19 disaster mitigation. Implementation of Covid-19 disaster mitigation literacy education through Covid-19 disaster mitigation learning with the Covid-19 disaster mitigation literacy learning model. The research was conducted in class X MIPA1 SMAN 2 Mataram which resulted in students' awareness of the Covid-19 disaster mitigation in the form of inadequate knowledge and application of health protocols, even though they received sufficient information and knowledge about Covid-19. The role of the school in the form of a task force must be optimized to control students in implementing health protocols so that students feel safe when doing activities at school.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru guru di SD Negeri 6 Mataram dalam membuat kit IPA yang bahan bahannya berasal dari sampah plastik dan mudah didapatkan. Sampah plastik adalah sampah yang bahan nya terbuat dari plastik baik berupa produk sintetik maupun hasil proses teknologi pengolahan bahan tambang atau sumber daya alam  yang  tidak dapat diuraikan oleh alam. Kit IPA yang akan dilatihkan cara membuatnya adalah kit IPA yang terdiri dari kapal selam sederhana, barometer botol, alat peraga aliran air, alat peraga tekanan hidrostatis, alat peraga pompa air tekanan udara dan alat peraga roket tekanan udara. Bahan-bahan plastik yang sudah di modifikasi ini akan ditempatkan pada sebuah kotak dan dapat di rangkai untuk membuat alat percobaan IPA sesuai yang dinginkan. Hal ini sesuai dengan defenisi kit IPA yaitu kotak yang berisi peralatan IPA dan mudah dibawa (portable). Percobaan percobaan ini didemontrasikan pada guru guru SD Negeri 6 Mataram  hasilnya 82% menyatakan sangat tertarik,  18 % tertarik dan tidak ada yang tidak tertarik. Berdasarkan data ini, disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan Pembuatan Kit IPA dengan Memanfaatkan Sampah Plastik di SD Negeri 6 Mataram mendapat respon yang sangat baik dari guru guru.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTelah dilakukan penelitian terhadap gempa volkanik gunung Merapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan hiposenter dan episenter gempa volkanik gunung Merapi dengan HIPO9. Analisis dilakukan dalam dua kawasan, yaitu kawasan waktu dan kawasan frekuensi. Dalam kawasan waktu ditentukan waktu tiba gempa volkanik. Dalam kawasan frekuensi diperoleh informasi tentang frekuensi sumber dan lebar pita frekuensi yang akan diloloskan. Hasil analisis mendapatkan frekuensi sumber 6 Hz dan lebar pita frekuensi 0,1 Hz. Hasil pengeplotan dengan HIPO9, episenter gempa volkanik cenderung mengumpul di sekitar puncak gunung merapi, dengan hiposenter gempa volkanik terdistribusi pada kedalaman 1200 m sampai 1300 m. Kata kunci : hiposenter; episenter; gunung Merapi; HIPO9; gempa volkanik.                                ABSTRACTVolcanic earthquakes of mount Merapi have been investigated. The aim of the investigation to determine the hypocenter and epicenter of the volcanic earthquake of mount Merapi by HIPO9. The analysis was carried out in two domains, the time domain and the frequency domain. The analysis in the time domain was conducted by the arrival time of volcanic earthquake. The analysis in the frequency domain was done by observing spectrum to get information on frequency of source and frequency band width passed from polarization. The analysis lead to frequency of source 6 Hz and band width of 0,1 Hz. The results of plotting with HIPO9, the epicenter of volcanic earthquakes tend to gather around the top of Mount Merapi, with the hypocenter of the volcanic earthquake distributed at a depth of 1200 m to 1300 m. Keywords: hypocenter; epicenter; mount Merapi; HIPO9; volcanic earthquake.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh model Guided Inquiry Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA di SMAN 1 Pringgarata. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian yaitu pretest-postest control group design. Teknik cluster random sampling digunakan untuk menentukan sampel peneltian di mana, kelas X IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen (21 siswa) yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model Guided Inquiry Learning dan kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol (20 siswa) yang dibelajarkan menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Instrumen tes berupa pilihan ganda sebanyak 30 item soal digunakan untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen sebesar 30,10 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 33,20 sedangkan nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen sebesar 80,57 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 75,60. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikan 5%, diperoleh hasil t-hitung sebesar (4,12) > t-tabel sebesar (2,02), sehingga H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Guided Inquiry Learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA di SMAN 1  Pringgarata.The Effect of Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes at SMAN 1 PringgarataAbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning model on high school students’ learning outcomes at SMAN 1 Pringgarata. The quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design was used on this study. The cluster random sampling technique was used to determine the research sample in which, Class X IPA 3 as an experimental class (21 students) were taught using the Guided Inquiry Learning model and Class X IPA 2 as a control class (20 students) that were learned using direct learning. The 30-item multiple choice test instrument was used to measure student learning outcomes given before and after learning. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class pretest was 30.10 and the control class was 33.20 while the post-test mean value of the experimental class was 80.57 and the control class was 75.60. The results of statistical tests using the t-test with a significance level of 5%, the results obtained t-test of (4.12)> t-table of (2.02), so that H0 is rejected. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Guided Inquiry Learning model effect on high school students’ learning outcomes at SMAN 1 Pringgarata.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic requires teachers to make innovations in learning, such as utilizing appropriate applications and choosing the right learning model to encourage students' reasoning abilities. This study aims to identify the effect of the causal learning model on students' reasoning abilities in learning physics during the learning from home period due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a 2x2 factorial design. The population is all students of class X MIA Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 (MAN 2) Mataram. Sampling using purposive sampling technique so that selected students of class X-MIA 3 (31 students) as the experimental class and class X-MIA 4 (30 students) as the control class. The instrument used to measure reasoning ability was a description test of 4 items. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous with the chi-squarecount (10.390) <chi-squaretable (11.070), (experimental class); chi-squarecount (10,873) <chi-squaretable (11,070), (control class); and Fcount (1,502) <Ftable (1,799). The hypothesis was tested using the t-test with a significance level (sig.) Of 5%. Hypothesis test results show the sig value. smaller than 0.05 (𝛼 <0.05) (𝐻0 rejected) and the experimental class gain (56.02%, moderate) is higher than the gain for the control class (38.28%, low). The conclusion is that the causal learning model has an effect on improving students' reasoning ability in learning physics during the learning from home period due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Recommendations that can be given in an effort to improve students 'reasoning abilities are to present physical phenomena in the form of pictures that can stimulate students' thinking activities.

Abstract

The objectives of this study is to develop project-based Physics Study teaching materials for Middle School that can improve concept mastery of high school teacher candidates. This research includes education development divided into three steps i.e the preliminary study, the product design development, and the product testing. The results showed that the developed instructional materials were suitable for use in learning and fulfilled the validation test by experts for the components of content feasibility, presentation and language in a good category. The responses of the student after using the teaching materials are very good for supporting and completing teaching materials during lectures. The tested teaching materials of Physics learning in Middle School can improve mastery of high school physics concepts for teacher candidates.Keywords: project-based teaching materials, school physics studies, mastery of physics concepts

Abstract

Abstract:  This study aims to develop problem-based learning tools to improve critical thinking skills that are valid, efficient, and effective for use in learning on harmonious vibration material. This research is a type of research and development (R&D) with a 4D model. At the define stage, is the initial stage for defining the problem. The design stage, designing learning device products in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheet, critical thinking skills test instruments, and learning videos. The develop stage is the development of the device from the results of the validity of the learning tools obtained from the validation results of 6 validators consisting of 3 expert validators and 3 on validators. The practicality or efficiency of the learning device is obtained from the responses of students and the learning implementation sheet. Increased critical thinking ability of students to analyze by determining the standard acquisition of the results before and after learning. The results of the validation show that the learning device components are in the very valid category for the syllabus and valid enough for lesson plans, student worksheet, critical instrument test skills, and video learning which means that they are good enough to be used in learning Reliability of the syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheet, critical thinking ability test instruments, and learning videos above 75% show all components that are in the reliable category. The results of student responses, as well as the implementation of learning are in the very practical category. Student learning outcomes have increased with a acquisition value of 0.66 which is in the medium category. Based on these results, it can be learned that problem-based learning tools are valid, efficient and effective for use in learning and problem-based learning models that affect students’ critical thinking skills. The last stage is to disseminate the dissemination stage of the device where at this stage it is done by making journals to send. Keywords: Development of problem-based learning tools, critical thinking skills, harmonious vibration

Abstract

Active Learning Strategies to Improve Understanding of Fundamental Physics Objects. Physics is one of the subjects considered difficult by students. The learning strategies applied by the teacher must be well structured in order to be able to provide understanding to students. Active learning strategies need to be done to improve understanding of physics properly and correctly. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of active learning to improve understanding of physics in prospective teachers. This active learning strategy is combined with causalitics and cognitive conflict learning methods which are applied to inter-semester course material at the end of the 2018 – 2019 school year. Learning with this combination of methods is able to provide a good understanding of existing students. The post-test results, which were compared with the pre-test results, showed an increase in the average student understanding of up to 24%. Active learning is proven to be able to improve the understanding of lecture material for students.  Keywords: active learning, physics education

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran model berbasis masalah berbantuan media PhET yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Desain penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D yang terdiri dari Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate. Produk yang dikembangkan yaitu rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD), dan instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui validasi perangkat pembelajaran oleh validator, angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan instrumen tes. Hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran mencapai rata-rata nilai validitas 87,44% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil persentase respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD yaitu 87,64% dengan kriteria baik dan instrumen tes KPM yaitu  88,41% dengan kriteria baik. Adapun rerata keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk tiga kali pertemuan yaitu 3,8 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat dianalisis dengan perhitungan uji-t. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan uji-t didapatkan hasil  (1,69). Hasil perhitungan N-gain kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yaitu 0,69 dengan kriteria sedang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model berbasis masalah berbantuan media PhET untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik kategori valid, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran.
