Abstract

Technetium-99m (99mTc), a daughter radionuclide of molybdenum-99 (99Mo), is the most widely used radiodiagnostic agent due to its ideal characteristics. The separation of this radionuclide from 99Mo is commonly performed using alumina. However, a new production method of this radionuclide, which employs a low specific activity 99Mo, makes alumina no longer suitable as separation material. This study aims to develop novel alumina using a facile solid-state reaction for 99Mo/99mTc generator system. The SS-alumina was synthesized from aluminium nitrate nonahydrate and ammonium bicarbonate without solvent. The resulted SS-alumina was then analyzed by FTIR and BET method. 99Mo adsorption and 99mTc releasing study on a series of pH were also performed. FTIR study revealed that the resulting material was Al2O3 with a surface area of 237.65 m2/g. The adsorption capacity, 99mTc yield, 99Mo breakthrough, and alumina breakthrough were 76.06 mg Mo/g alumina, 80.31%, 56.5 µCi/mCi 99mTc, and less than 5 mg/mL, respectively. The elution profile shows a high activity of 99mTc in 2nd and 3rd fraction. It is concluded that the SS-alumina shows good performance as adsorbent material for separation of a 99Mo/99mTc and further work is now underway.

Abstract

High blood pressure associated with a reduction of cognitive function in young adults and older age. One of cognitiveimpairment examination is Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The aim of this study is to determine the correlationbetween impaired cognitive function with hypertension by using MoCA–INA in the elderly people at Tresna WerdhaKhusnul Khotimah nursing home Pekanbaru. This research obtained the incidence of impaired cognitive function inelderly people at Tresna Werdha Khusnul Khotimah nursing home Pekanbaru as many as 28 subjects (90.3%).Hypertension in the elderly at Tresna Werdha Khusnul Khotimah nursing home Pekanbaru were 23 subjects consistof 6 subjects (19.35%) with controlled hypertension and 17 subjects (54.84%) with uncontrolled hypertension. Theresults of statistical test by using Fisher test obtained p value as big as 1.000 (p>0.05). This shows there is nosignificant correlation between impaired cognitive function with hypertension in the elderly people at Tresna WerdhaKhusnul Khotimah nursing home Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Mild Cognitive Impairment is a decreasing in memory, decision, language and attention with normal functionalactivity which not classified in dementia. One of risk factor of MCI is high blood pressure or hypertension. Hypertensionis >140 mmHg systolic blood pressure and >90 mmHg diastolyc blood pressure. The purpose of this research is toinforming the relation between mild cognitive impairment and hypertension in Local Women Organization (PKK RWIX Kelurahan Tangkerang Timur Pekanbaru). The research used cross-sectional analitic study method, finished onJanuari 2015. Fifty subjects of Local Women Organization (PKK RW IX) were involved in this research, they weredivided into two criterias, 31 with MCI and 19 with non MCI. Based on the research, 21 of 31 MCI were detectedwith hypertension. The Chi Square test showed there is significant relation between MCI and hypertension (p value= 0,004 ).

Abstract

ABSTRACTStroke is vascular disorders caused by occlusions or ruptures of the brain vessels. Cognitive impairment is results of the occurrence of stroke. This study aimed to describe the cognitive functions of post stroke patients in the Neurology Polyclinic of RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. This study was descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The instrument in this research was Montreal Cognitive Assessment – Indonesian version (MoCA-INA). Samples of the study were post stroke patients who visited Neurology Polyclinic of RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province in the period of November – December 2015.This study used consecutive sampling method with total number was 41 respondents. The results showed that 92,68% of post stroke patients had cognitive impairment with the highest percentage at age >65 years old (34,14%), male (65,85%), education time ≤ 12 year (56,10%), ischemic stroke (78,05%), and stroke period >6 months (75,61%). As a conclusion, most of the post stroke patients in the Neurology Polyclinic of RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province showed cognitive impairments. Keywords: stroke, cognitive function, MoCA-INA.
