Abstract

Bersih-Desa in Tawun village is an individual expression and collective interaction of the society which have the quality of traditional agrarian, therefore the presence of this ceremony cannot be separated from the socio-cultural’s parts and activities of the society. There are some valuable reasons behind this question why this ceremony still exists until this present day, the main reason is because the ceremony has some elements and cultural factors and also some virtuous values which then give such a good live guide to their generation. The method of this research is ‘hermeneutics philosophical’. This research is done by combining the library research which is reinforced with the direct observation. The results of this research is the existence of a cultural philosophy concept of the ritual ceremony ‘Bersih-Desa’ in Tawun village including its elements and determinant factors that caused in the presence of the ceremony until this present-day and also there are society understanding toward this ceremony. This ritual ceremony implements some values and virtuous attitudes which then it can be done by the society because it gives some positive impacts for their development. The society is highly expected for not only able to understand the values which are consisted in its ceremony, but they have also able to use it in their daily life.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hakikat ideologi menurut Karl Mannheim serta menganalisis landasan ontologis, epistemologis, dan aksiologis yang mendasari pemikirannya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pustaka (library research), dengan memakai beberapa unsur metodis, yakni deskripsi, historis, analitika bahasa, abstraksi, hermeneutika, dan heuristika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut Mannheim, ideologi mengacu pada sebuah kondisi yang belum atau tidak terjadi, dalam arti tidak ada dalam kenyataan. Ideologi berarti ramalan tentang masa depan berdasarkan pada sistem yang saat ini sedang berlaku. Selain itu, Mannheim juga membedakan dua macam ideologi, yaitu ideologi partikular dan ideologi total. Ideologi partikular adalah ideologi yang dipahami secara psikologis oleh seorang individu; sedangkan ideologi total adalah ideologi yang dimiliki oleh suatu komunitas sehingga sangat dekat dengan pengertian welstanchauung. Dari perspektif ontologis, dalam pemikiran Karl Mannheim tentang ideologi terkandung asumsi adanya realitas objektif. Dari perspektif epistemologi, pemikiran Karl Mannheim tentang ideologi menyiratkan pemikiran subjektivisme epistemologis. Dari perspektif aksiologis, kekuasaan yang berkaitan dengan politik masih menduduki hierarki yang tertinggi dalam ideologi.

Abstract

Communication ethics is still a problem in the public domain, especially on social media. There were several viral cases on the internet due to ethical issues in communicating on social media lately. The bias of social media space as private space which is consumed publicly has caused ethical problems in the field of communication. This ethical problem needs to be overcome by educating society about communication ethics in the public sphere, especially on social media. This study aims to describe the concept of empan papan as one of the key concepts in Javanese communication ethics. Based on literature studies combined with hermeneutic analysis, the results show that empan papan can be an alternative communication ethics in the era of information technology. Empan papan is the concept of Javanese situational communication ethics which emphasizes communication on five principles, namely the principle of self-placement, the principle of truth, the principle of accuracy, the principle of situation, and the principle of conditions. This study recommends the need to educate society about the use of communication ethics on board leaders in social media.

Abstract

Humans have developed science to understand the phenomena they face in their lives. As such, the development of science is inexorably linked with epistemology because it emphasizes the question of truth—the focus of epistemology. The development of science and knowledge has been influenced by specific interests, motives, needs, and historic/cultural backgrounds. To ensure that science is developed in a manner best suited for Indonesian society, such development must be rooted in extant Indonesian cultural values, such as those found in Javanese culture. This study attempts to formulate Javanese epistemology as a basis for scientific development in Indonesia. It finds, first, that knowledge is known as “kawruh” among the Javanese people; second, knowledge is not always limited to the cognitive dimension; and third, a specific criterion for truth is harmony, or “pener”. Javanese people consider “rasa” capable of bringing humans to the supreme knowledge. Although objective knowledge exists, every individual achievement of reality is different. Javanese people consider the validity or truthfulness of statements/actions rooted in their harmony with the empirical rational principle of truth and the existing order, following the adage “bener tur pener”.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena relasi manusia dengan teknologi akibat pesatnya perkembangan teknologi, komunikasi, dan informasi pada abad ke-21. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk melakukan refleksi atas teknologi dalam kajian filsafat manusia untuk memperdalam pemahaman tentang diri manusia. Artikel ini merupakan kajian pustaka dengan objek material berupa fenomena penggunaan gadget yang dianalisis dari objek formal filsafat manusia. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa teknologi pada dasarnya bersifat material atau berdimensi material. Roh manusia-lah yang menentukan arah dari teknologi itu. Betapa pun gadget membawa kebaikan pada manusia, ia adalah perangkat yang membahayakan. Ia mempunyai logikanya sendiri; arah tujuannya ditentukan berdasarkan rutenya sendiri; dan ia meleburkan manusia pada sebuah sistem yang otonom. Kata kunci untuk tetap menjaga otonomi manusia atas teknologi adalah pada kesadaran manusia. Pertama, manusia harus sadar bahwa teknologi perlu diperlakukan layaknya subjek; dan kedua, manusia harus sadar bahwa teknologi ada untuk manusia, sebagai sarana atau media untuk me-material-kan ide-ide dan gagasan manusia. Semuanya mengarah pada satu tujuan: demi membuat dunia manusia sesuai dengan kebutuhan manusia. Dengan berpegang pada dua hal tersebut, maka otonomi manusia atas teknologi akan tetap ada. Manusia tidak boleh jatuh pada teknologi karena teknologi untuk manusia bukan sebaliknya. Kata kunci: Teknologi, Gadget, Manusia, Otonomi, Kesadaran

Abstract

This study aims to find the philosophical values in the Cangget tradition in Lampung Pepadun society based on an understanding of the importance of the Cangget tradition among Indonesian society in globalization era. To achieve this goal, the researcher conducted a literature review of several studies on Cangget and conducted interviews with several traditional leaders of Lampung Pepadun. The material object of the research is the Cangget tradition in Lampung Pepadun’s culture which is analyzed from the philosophy of culture as formal object. The results of the study indicate that the Cangget tradition is included in one of Lampung's cultures in the form of community social activities. This tradition has several meanings, among others, as a form of traditional celebration of the Lampung people, as well as a form of the efforts of the Lampung Pepadun’s people to maintain the purity of the traditions and customs. The Cangget tradition also has philosophical values, including the value of togetherness or social value, the value of unity, the value of honor, the value of democracy, and the economic value.

Abstract

This study aims to describe policy interventions and innovative programs in anti-bullying praxis implemented in Yogyakarta City Junior High Schools. This study used descriptive methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This study was conducted in 2022 with 1517 students from 19 junior high schools in Yogyakarta City as participants. The participants of the study were principals and guidance and counselling teachers from 19 junior high schools in Yogyakarta City, junior high school supervisors, and policymakers at the Yogyakarta City Youth and Sports Education Office. The data collection techniques used were Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interviews, and documentation. The data were then analysed using qualitative descriptive analysis through several steps: data collection, condensation, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings indicate that the interventions made by schools on the phenomenon of bullying are: a) 69% of schools attempt to stop bullying; b) 64% of teachers reprimand perpetrators; c) 61% of teachers assist bullying victims; and d) 57% of teachers support bullying victims. In addition, qualitative data in the form of variations in the implementation of education policies in SMP Kota Yogyakarta to address bullying in schools were uncovered. According to the results of the study, there are: a) individual programs through counselling; b) collective mentoring through character building to develop soft skills and hard skills; c) rules of order and social control; and d) school partnerships with external institutions. These innovative programs are the outcome of the interpretation of educational policy by the institutions, as well as the creative initiatives of schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the future and sustainability of character education in the era of artificial intelligence. This issue is very important because several research findings show that artificial intelligence-based technology threatens the process of internalizing academic ethical values in education. If this problem is not overcome, it is feared that the implementation of character education will be marginalized by the use of artificial intelligence technology. This research is a philosophical research model on actual problems using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use document studies, while the methodical elements used in data  analysis are description, analysis, synthesis, hermenutics, language analytics, and heuristics. This research found that the development of artificial intelligence technology in education is an unavoidable phenomenon. The world of education as one of the strategic vehicles for improving the quality of human self, has a double duty. First, education must continue to maintain and preserve academic ethical values amid the development of artificial intelligence technology. Second, education at the same time must also be able to eliminate anxiety, fear, or phobia of the use of artificial intelligence. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes the importance of developing character education and artificial intelligence education in a harmonious and balanced manner in order to maintain the future sustainability of character education in the era of artificial intelligence.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis masa depan dan keberlanjutan pendidikan karakter di era kecerdasan buatan. Isu ini sangat penting karena beberapa temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi berbasis kecerdasan buatan mengancam proses internalisasi nilai-nilai etika akademik dalam pendidikan. Jika masalah ini tidak diatasi, dikhawatirkan implementasi pendidikan karakter akan terpinggirkan oleh penggunaan teknologi kecerdasan buatan. Penelitian ini merupakan model penelitian filosofis tentang permasalahan aktual dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan artificial intelligence dalam pendidikan; sedangkan objek formal yang digunakan adalah filsafat teknologi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi dokumen, sedangkan elemen metodis yang digunakan dalam analisis data  adalah deskripsi, analisis,  sintesis, hermenutika, analisis bahasa, dan heuristika. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dalam pendidikan merupakan fenomena yang tidak dapat dihindari. Dunia pendidikan sebagai salah satu wahana strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas diri manusia, memiliki tugas ganda. Pertama, pendidikan harus terus menjaga dan melestarikan nilai-nilai etika akademik di tengah perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan. Kedua, pendidikan sekaligus juga harus mampu menghilangkan kecemasan, ketakutan, atau fobia terhadap penggunaan kecerdasan buatan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan pendidikan karakter dan pendidikan kecerdasan buatan secara harmonis dan seimbang guna menjaga keberlangsungan pendidikan karakter di masa depan di era kecerdasan buatan.

Abstract

Creating a multicultural society that coexists peacefully amidst various kinds of differences is not an easy thing. The fact that multicultural society is still challenging to realize is a serious problem, not only for one or two countries but also for all countries worldwide. This research has three objectives. The first describes the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia with various obstacles. Second, describe solutions to multiple problems in the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia. Third, provide recommendations for the implementation of multicultural education in other areas. Based on a qualitative study of several studies on the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia, The results show that the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia is carried out in several ways or several approaches. In general, this approach can be divided into two: the approach in terms of learning materials and the approach in terms of learning methods. The multicultural education approach in terms of material means that the values of multiculturalism are given to students through special materials that discuss multiculturalism. Meanwhile, the approach in terms of methods means that the values of multicultural life are given to students by integrating them into various subjects namely the approach in terms of learning materials and approaches in terms of learning methods.

Abstract

The development of online tutoring services suggests that Indonesian education faces significant challenges. The purpose of this study is to investigate the issue of educational affordability that arises as a result of the creation of numerous tutoring services in Indonesia. This study used a descriptive research model and a qualitative methodology. This research data takes the form of literature from studies on the existence of elementary school tutoring institutions in Indonesia with all its issues, which are examined from a phenomenological point of view. The findings indicated that public mistrust in the caliber of education provided in formal schools contributed to the rise of online tutoring services at the elementary school level. Students are beginning to choose to employ online tutoring services due to tedious coursework and the ineffectiveness of learning implementation in traditional elementary schools. This article suggests that the government cooperate with the private sector and education innovators to create media and learning methods that are efficient, enjoyable, and still affordable for everyone to address the deficiencies in Indonesia's formal education system.
