Abstract

Buah biwa (Eriobotrya japonica) sangat baik untuk kesehatan tubuh dan dapaat digunakan sebagai bahan baku obat-obatan. Budidaya tanaman biwa di tingkat petani saat ini masih bersifat tradisional, sehingga produksinya masih rendah dan belum dapat memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen. Salah satu penyebabnya ialah keterbatasan informasi mengenai penggunaan pupuk yang efektif dan efisien pada pembudidayaannya. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk N, P, dan K pada tanaman biwa. Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Tanaman Buah Berastagi dengan ketinggian tempat 1.340 m dpl., dengan jenis tanah Andisol, yang dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari sampai dengan Desember 2006. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan  acak kelompok pola faktorial dengan dua ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas tiga faktor yakni : N (0, 180, dan 360 kg/ha), P (0 dan 36 kg/ha), dan K (0, 180, dan 360 kg/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya  interaksi NxP dan NxK terhadap pertambahan tinggi tanaman pada umur 6 dan 8 bulan setelah pemberian pupuk pertama.Tidak ada interaksi NxP yang nyata terhadap pertambahan diameter batang, namun ada interaksi NxK yang nyata terhadap pertambahan diameter batang pada umur 4, 6, dan 8 bulan setelah pemberian pupuk pertama. Taraf dosis pupuk N:P:K (360:36:180) kg/ha menghasilkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman biwa (tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, serta jumlah tunas) yang lebih baik dari perlakuan lainnya. Hasil analisis daun biwa memperlihatkan bahwa kandungan hara N, P, dan K   terbesar dalam daun yang ditemukan pada perlakuan dosis pupuk N:P:K (360:36:180) kg/ha. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai pedoman pemupukan pada budidaya biwa. Loquat fruits is very good for human health. Furthermore, it can be used as the raw material for some medicines. Until now the loquat cultivataion is still traditionally practiced by farmers, so its production is still very low and can not fulfill consumers demand. One of the reasons is that the information of effective and efficient fertilization is not available. The objective of the research was to determine the effect of  N, P, and K fertilizers on the growth of loquat. The research was conducted at Berastagi Experimental Fruit Farm, at altitude of 1,340 m asl, with  Andisol soil type, on January to December 2006. A randomized block design was used with two replications. The research consisted of 18 treatments combination with three factors i.e. N (0, 180, and 360 kg/ha), P (0 and 36 kg/ha), and K (0, 180, and 360 kg/ha). The results showed that there were significant interaction effects of NxP and NxK to plant height on 6 and 8 months after the first fertilizer application. The significant interaction effect of NxK was also stem diameter on 4, 6, and 8 months after the first fertilizer application. The  dosage of N:P:K (360:36:180 kg/ha) exhibited better vegetative growth of loquat (plants height, stem diameter, and number of shoots) compared to other treatments. The analysis of loquat leaves indicaated that the content of N, P, and K nutrients on leaves was higher on the fertilizer dosage of N:P:K = 360:36:180 kg/ha  compared to the other fertilizer treatments.Implication of the research is to guide fertilizing on loquat cultivation.

Abstract

Cabbage are one of the vegetable plants that have extensive planting centers in Karo Regency. Currently almost 100% of farmers still use chemical fertilizers in cabbage cultivation. To keep the soil in good condition, it is very necessary to provide organic fertilizer, both in solid and liquid forms which can keep the chemical, physical and biological properties of the soil good. Therefore a study was conducted which aimed to obtain the right type of compost and liquid organic fertilizer to increase cabbage growth and production. The research was carried out at the Berastagi Experimental farm with andisol soil types, altitude of 1,340 m asl. The activity began in July - September 2018. The study used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications. The first factor is the type of compost (K0. Comparator = chicken manure), K1. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with EM liquid, K2. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with solid bran EM, K3. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) fermentation with solid bran EM and kernel and K4. Cow manure + Chicken manure (1:1) enriched with microorganisms). The second factor is the type of Liquid Organic Fertilizer/LOF (O0. Without LOF, O1. LOF Krinyu + kernel, O2. LOF Krinyu + cow urine + seaweed and O3. LOF Comparator). The results showed that the chicken manure compost was able to increase the growth of cabbage plants. Giving chicken manure compost yields the highest weight and cabbage crop 18.42 cm and 1.53 kg, followed by the Cow manure + Chicken manure (1: 1) enriched with microorganisms accompanied by LOF Krinyu + cow urine + seaweed, ie 18 , 38 cm and 1.30 kg. Giving chicken manure compost produced a significantly higher production, which was 6.99 kg.

Abstract

Fish organic fertilizer has a high nutrient content for plants. Giving organic fish fertilizer to cabbage can increase the growth and production of cabbage. This study aims to determine the way and the right dose of organic fish fertilizer in cabbage plants. This research was conducted at Berastagi experimental farm which began in June - September 2018. The experimental design used was a Randomized Block Design factorial with 3 replications, where the first factor is the type of Fish organic fertilizer (I1. Dry and I2. Fermentation). The second factor is the dose of fish organic fertilizer (D0. 0, D1. 300 kg / ha, D2. 600 kg / ha, D3. 900 kg / ha and D4. 1200 kg / ha). The results showed that the fish organic fertilizer with types dried and fermented were not different significant in increasing the growth and production of cabbage plants. The dose of fish organic fertilizer can increase the growth and production of cabbage plants. Giving 1,200 kh / ha of fish fertilizer yields the highest diameter of crop, crop weight and production, ie 14.83 cm, 0.64 kg and 30.36 kg / 5 m2. There is no interaction between type and dose of fish organic fertilizer on the growth and production of cabbage plants.

Abstract

The use of quality seeds increase productivity and competitive the success of a potato agribusiness. This study aims to determine the influence of seed size and seed origin paclobutrazol use of growth and production of potato seeds. The research conducted in Berastagi experimental farm, Karo regency, with type of the soil is andisol and altitude of 1,340 m asl. The research was beginning from February to May 2017. The design was used randomize block factorial with 2 replication. The first factor is the size of the seed (U1. small 25 g, U2. medium > 25 - 65 g and U3. large > 65 g). The second factor is the seed origin paclobutrazol use (P0. Control, P1. 7 WAP 250 ppm, P2. 7 WAP 500 ppm, P3. 8 WAP 250 ppm, P4. 8 WAP 500 ppm, P5. 9 WAP 250 ppm, P6. 9 WAP 500 ppm, P7. 10 WAP 250 ppm and P8. 10 WAP 500 ppm. The results showed that large seed size (> 65 g) was more important increasing vegetative growth of potato (plant height and canopy width, leaf area and number of tillers). The seed origin of paclobutrazole given at 8 WAP with dose 250 and 500 ppm have higher crop growth. The highest percentage of total seeds per plot is obtained by using medium size seed with use paclobutrazol 8 WAP 500 ppm (84.22%). Production of potato per plant and per plot was obtained by using medium seeds derived from the use of paclobutrazol 7 WAP 250 ppm (1.15 kg and 13.79 kg).
