Abstract

Community Plantation Forests (CPF) have a very important role in increasing the income for people around the forest. This study aims to see the role of community plantations is in increasing the farmer’s income using Agrosilvopastura cropping pattern. Data collection used observation techniques, interviews, and literature studies.  The sampling method used proportional simple random with the number of respondents as many as 90 farmers. Data analysis used income analysis. The results showed that the role of HTR was very influential for the income of farmers 66,25%, compared non CPT (33,75%) with an income value of Rp 2,258,050,000/KK/year or Rp 8,755,863/KK/month using the agrosilvopastura cropping pattern, which was a combination of various agricultural crops (64,20%), forestry (1,36%), and farm (0,69%). Training for farmers and forestry extension workers needs to be carried out to support activities to be more effective and extension workers need to take a more intensive approach to farmers so they can provide solutions and alternative solutions to problems in management.

Abstract

Agroforestry systems, with products in the form of robusta coffee, can increase income and environmental sustainability. The research objective is to find out the robusta coffee marketing channel. Retrieval of data through interviews with actors or institutions involved, observation, and documentation studies. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitatively about the structure, behavior, and market channels. The results of the study indicate that there are several marketing institutions, namely: farmers, collectors, wholesalers, retailers, and cooperatives. In addition, there are three channels of robusta coffee marketing, namely: (1) farmers to collectors, then wholesalers and retailers, (2) farmers to cooperatives, then retailers, and (3) farmers to cooperatives. The most efficient channel is the third channel, but most farmers choose to sell their coffee to the first channel. This is because of the closer distance to the collecting traders, the lending of money given to farmers by collecting traders, and the absence of special treatment for coffee sold. The market structure formed in coffee marketing is the oligopsonist market, where the price of coffee is determined by large traders. The capacity of cooperatives should be improved by the government in order to compete with collectors, wholesalers, and retailers.

Abstract

Visitors' perception can be used as a source to develop ecotourism object. The purpose of this research was to explain visitors' perception towards the development of ecotourism object in Liwa Botanical Garden. The data taken through closed-interview, observation and literature study. The data collected was analyzed by one score one indicator. The result of the research showed that the attraction object in Liwa Botanical Garden was quite satisfying: infrastructures, facilities, and services were categorized as satisfying: however the acomodation was less satisfying. The additional and restoration of plant collection, food stalls, parking lot, guard post, gate, the color of footpath, children play zone, and camping ground need to be fixed.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPembayaran jasa lingkungan (PJL) merupakan salah satu skema pemberian insentif dalam upaya mencegah kerusakan hulu Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Way Semaka di Kawasan Hutan Lindung Register 19. Kerusakan hulu DAS ini menyebabkan pasokan air yang dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna air di daerah hilir terganggu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesediaan masyarakat menerima (willingness to accept/WTA) atas pembayaran jasa lingkungan air. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif terhadap 30 orang sampel responden masyarakat sekitar Hutan Lindung Register 39. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa semua responden bersedia dibayar atas upaya konservasi DAS melalui penanaman dan pemeliharaan pohon dalam kawasan hutan yaitu rata-rata Rp14.000 per pohon. Hal ini didasarkan oleh pengorbanan yang dikeluarkan responden dari segi waktu, biaya dan tenaga dalam upaya konservasi tersebut. Penerapan PJL ini perlu dukungan Pemerintah dalam hal ini Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan Lindung (KPHL) Kotaagung Utara selaku pengelola di tingkat tapak agar memfasilitasi terselenggaranya mekanisme PJL hulu-hilir di sekitar kawasan hutan lindung sebagai salah satu solusi perbaikan hulu DAS Way Semaka.  Kata kunci: pembayaran jasa lingkungan; DAS Way Semaka; Willingness to Accept; hutan lindung ABSTRACTPayment of environmental services (PES) is one of the mechanisms considered to be able to solve the hydrological problem in Way Semaka Watershed (DAS) which is one of the watersheds used by the downstream community for daily necessities and agricultural business. Currently, Way Semaka Watershed condition is physically damaged one of them because the protected forest area surrounding the watershed is damaged. Whereas protected forests play a very important role in regulating the water system, prevent erosion, produce oxygen and so on. This study aims to analyze the willingness to accept community (WTA) around protected forest area register 39 upstream through PES mechanism in order to restore downstream watershed condition. Samples were taken as many as 30 community respondents around the forest register 39 at random. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that all respondents were willing to be paid for planting and maintaining trees in forest areas. The estimated average WTA value is Rp 14,000 per tree. According to the respondents, the willingness to accept this community must take into account the time, cost and energy in planting and maintaining the tree, especially the topography condition of the forest area is relatively flat. Therefore, the government in this case Protection Forest Management Unit (KPHL) Kotaagung Utara need to support the implementation of mechanisms PES in the area around the Way Semaka Watershed in order to solve the problem of hydrology and the welfare of the community around the protected forest by acting as facilitator to the downstream user community.Keywords: Payment of environmental services; protected forest area; Way Semaka Watershed; Willingness to Accept

Abstract

ABSTRAKEfisiensi pemasaran kayu gergajian sengon berpengaruh besar terhadap keberlanjutan industri penggergajian kayu rakyat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis efisiensi pemasaran kayu gergajian sengon pada industri penggergajian kayu rakyat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan observasi langsung.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling) terhadap 5 Industri penggergajian kayu yang memproduksi kayu gergajian sengon secara berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemasaran produk papan, balok, kasau dan reng memiliki kecenderungan yang sama terhadap indikator efisiensi pemasaran.  Berdasarkan indikator producer’s share dan perhitungan efisiensi pemasaran, pemasaran ke empat produk berjalan efisien akan tetapi berdasarkan indikator margin pemasaran, margin keuntungan dan rasio profit margin, pemasaran berjalan dengan tidak efisien. Hal ini dilihat dari margin pemasaran, margin keuntungan dan rasio profit margin yang tidak merata pada semua produk dan semua saluran. Hasil penelitian ini belum dapat menggambarkan efisiensi pemasaran secara keseluruhan sehingga indikator efisiensi pemasaran lainnya perlu juga dipertimbangkan seperti aspek fungsi-fungsi pemasaran, volume penjualan dan kepuasan konsumen.Kata kunci: efisiensi pemasaran, industri penggergajian, kayu gergajian sengonABSTRACTThe marketing efficiency of sengon sawn wood has a big impact on the sustainability of sawmill industry. The purpose of this research is to analyze the efficiency of marketing of sengon sawn wood in the sawmill. The research was conducted by in-depth interviews and direct observation. Sampling was carried out purposively of 5 sawmills that produce sawn wood in a sustainable manner. The results showed that the marketing of boards, beams, rafters and battens had the same tendency towards marketing efficiency indicators. Based on the producer's share indicator and the calculation of marketing efficiency, the marketing of the four products is running efficiently but based on indicators of marketing margin, profit margin and profit margin ratio, marketing is running inefficiently. This can be seen from the uneven marketing margins, profit margins and profit margin ratios for all products and all channels. The results of this study have not been able to describe the overall marketing efficiency so that other indicators of marketing efficiency also need to be considered such as aspects of marketing functions, sales volume and customer satisfaction. Keywords: marketing efficiency, sawmill industry, sengon sawn wood

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 yang mewabah di Indonesia menjadikan suatu permasalahan yang dihadapi sehingga berdampak terhadap Kawasan Ekowisata Tangkahan untuk menekan pencegahan penyebaran virus COVID-19. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik pelaku usaha dan pengunjung di kawasan Ekowisata Tangkahan selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Ekowisata Tangkahan yang terletak di dua wilayah desa yaitu Desa Namu Sialang dan Desa Sei Serdang, Kecamatan Batang Serangan, Kabupaten Langkat, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan cara kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi, serta dianalisis dampak sosial akibat COVID-19 yang terjadi terhadap Kawasan Ekowisata Tangkahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akibat pandemi COVID-19 menyebabkan kunjungan wisatawan lokal pada tahun 2020 berkurang sebanyak 68% dibanding tahun 2019 serta kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara pada tahun 2020 berkurang sebanyak 52% dibanding pada tahun 2019. Pelaku usaha melakukan penutupan sementara kegiatan usaha selama penutupan Ekowisata Tangkahan yang menyebabkan pelaku usaha sebanyak 36% menjadi pengangguran.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the producers of durian fruit, but compared to other durian producing countries, namely Thailand and Malaysia, Indonesia durian production is quite low (500-700 thousand tons per year). Although the durian is attractive to many people, but durian farmer's profits can be considered low. This study aims to analyze channel of marketing, marketing margin and marketing efficiency of durian in Talang Mulya as one of the durian producers in Lampung Province. The research conducted from April to June 2015. The data were processed with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The sampling was done to 30 farmers, 8 retailers and 10 customers by purposive sampling. The results showed that there are four marketing channels durian in Talang Mulya village, ie channel 1: farmer-traders-consumers, channel 2: farmer- traders-retailer-consumer, channel 3: farmer-retailer-consumer and channel 4: farmers - consumer. Marketing margin analysis found that the marketing agencies that earn the highest profit is the retailer. The results show that channel 4 is the most efficient marketing channel for marketing costs born by the consumer is smaller compared to other marketing channels. Keywords: durian, marketing channel, marketing margins, marketing efficiency
