Abstract

This was a quasi-experimental research that aimed to know about the influence of cooperative learning model of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type towards student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics. This research used a posttest only control design. The population was the eight grade students in second semester of Junior High School state 7 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2012/2013 as many as 327 students who distributed into nine classes. Samples were students of VIII H and VIII E class that chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data was value of conceptual understanding of mathematics obtained by test. Based on the results of hypothesis test, conceptual understanding of mathematics of students who teach by the cooperative learning model of NHT type was better than  conventional learning. It can be concluded that cooperative learning model of NHT type influences of conceptual understanding of mathematics of  eight grade student in second semester of Junior High School state 7 of Bandar Lampung academic year of 2012/2013.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.  Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design.  Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 327 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam 9 kelas.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII H dan VIII E yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Data penelitian berupa nilai pemahaman konsep matematis yang diperoleh melalui tes. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti model kooperatif tipe NHT lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional.  Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif tipe NHT berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.Kata kunci: model kooperatif tipe NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis, pengaruh

Abstract

This quasi experimental study aimed to determine the influence of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type towards students understanding of mathematical concepts. Posttest only control design was used in this study. The population of this study was all students of grade IX SMPN 3 Terbanggi Besar in academic year 2013/2014. The samples of this study were students of IX-C and IX-E class which taken by purposive sampling.The data of study was obtained by test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the result of data analysis using t-test, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type influenced students mathematical conceptual understanding of students of grade IX of SMPN 3 Terbanggi Besar in academic year 2013/2014.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran think pair share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to determine the influence of contextual approach toward student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. Design used in this study was a posttest only control design.The population in this study are all students in 8th Grade of SMPN 3 Batanghari in the academic year 2012/2013 that having low mathematical conceptual understanding. The sample are class VIII.2 and VIII.5 choosed by using purposive random sampling. Data techniques collection uses mathematical conceptual understanding test. Based on the result of hipotesis test, the average of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding at class using contextual approach is more than that of using conventional learning in the significant level 5%. So, it was concluded that the contextual approach there influences mathematical conceptual understanding of student.Keywords: contextual approach, mathematical conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare the students understanding of mathematical concept who taught by PMR and conventional learning. PMR is a learning that began on real troubles and mentored students to discover the mathematical concepts on the real problems. The population in this study was all grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012/2013 and  the samples of this study were students of VIIID and  VIIIF class who selected by purposive sampling. The design of this study was posttest control design.  Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that generally, the average value of students understanding of mathematical concepts in PMR was higher than conventional learning. So, the PMR learning was better than conventional learning.Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan PMR dan pembelajaran konvensional.  PMR merupakan pembelajaran yang bermula pada masalah real dan siswa dibimbing menemukan konsep matematika pada masalah riil tersebut.  Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIID dan VIIIF yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest control design.  Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh simpulan bahwa secara umum nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran PMR lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional.  Jadi, pembelajaran dengan PMR lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematika, pendekatan matematika realistik

Abstract

Learning  done by the teacher is impacted on students’ learning success. Based on the experienced of learning in VIIIA class of SMP Negeri 1 Natar, the teacher is one of the sole source of information and learning dominate, resulting in low activity and the success of students’ studying mathematics. Action research is done to improve the activity and success of students’ mathematics learning through cooperative learning model type NHT. The measures are implemented in three cycles, each cycle consist of four meetings. The instruments used to collect the data in this study are in the form of students’ sheets activity, field notes, and tests. The tests are conducted each end of the cycle to determine the success of students’ mathematics studying. The analysis showed that the percentage of the activities and mathematics learning outcomes of each cycle are increased from cycle to cycle up to the third cycle. The conclusion of this study is the use of cooperative learning model NHT type can increase the activities and the success of mathematic learning the students of VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Natar South Lampung.Keywords: Cooperative learning NHT type, activity, learning outcomes.

Abstract

Instrumental music is tone series from a voice that composed a music tool or more without vocal. This quasi-experimental study aimed to determine the influence of instrumental music in completion of mathematic’s exercise toward learning result. The population in this study areallstudents in 8th Grade of SMPN 8 Bandarlampung in the academic year 2012/2013, while the sample are students in class VIII.B and VIII.C that choosed by random. The design study is a post-test only control design. Based on the result of hypothesis test, instrumental music in completion of mathematic’s exercise not positive influence toward student’s mathematical learning result.Keywords: Instrumental musi, mathematics learning results.

Abstract

The understanding of mathematical concept of students in VIII-B SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung  has not satisfied yet.  That is caused by in learning activities, students are not be active to understand the, so that almost students does not have chance to find the concept by your self. Besides that, students are not able to say their opinion and there is no interaction among students. Based on the result of this study, the implementation of STAD cooperative learning model able to increase students activities and understanding of mathematical concept.Key word: activity, understanding of mathematical concept, STAD

Abstract

Numbered Head Together (NHT) is a learning model that consists of four stages, namely numbering, asking questions, thinking together, and giving answers. NHT engages students actively and responsibly in understanding the subject material indivi­dually or groups.This quasi experimental research’s purpose was to find the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of NHT type viewed by comprehension of mathematical concepts of students. Population was all students of 8th grade of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung. Through purposive sampling technique was obtained students of VIII-D as the control class and VIII-E as the experiment class. The research data was obtained by the comprehension of mathematical concepts test. Based on the analysis using t test, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of NHT type is effective viewed by comprehension of mathematical concepts of student of 8th grade of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012/2013.Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe  NHT merupakan model pembelajaran secara berkelompok yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu penomoran, pengajuan pertanyaan, berfikir bersama, dan pemberian jawaban. NHT melibatkan siswa secara aktif dan bertanggung jawab dalam memahami materi pelajaran baik secara individu maupun kelompok. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas VIII E sebagai kelas eksperimen yang dipilih dengan teknik  purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data  menggunakan uji-t dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.Kata kunci: efektivitas, NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

Make A Match merupakan salah pembelajaran kooperatif yang siswanya berdiskusi memikirkan jawaban atau soal dari kartu yang mereka pegang kemudian mencari dan mencocokan pasangan kartu tersebut. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest only karena sampel memiliki kemampuan awal relatif sama. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data maka kesimpulan adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match berpengaruh jika dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran yang biasanya diterapkan di sekolah terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata Kunci: Make A Match, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis
