Abstract

Hydroponic cultivation system is one solution to overcome the limited agricultural land. This farming system is widely used in farming high-value horticulture, one of them is a cherry tomato plants. The key to success in the hydroponic system is the management of water and nutrients appropriate to the needs of plants. Nevertheless, fertigation system on hydroponic plant cultivation requires a fairly high production costs and dependent on electrical energy for circulation. This study aims to assess the application of fertigation systems that do not use electricity for the circulation of water and nutrients using autopot technology. Fertigation system using this autopot applied to the cherry tomato plants using three combinations of planting medium is husk-compost, husk charcoal-humus and husk-cocopeat with a ratio of 50%: 50%. The results showed that autopot system capable of supplying the needs of water and plant nutrients to the level of irrigation efficiency is very high also minus consumption of electrical energy. The combination of growing media and compost husk cherry tomato plants to respond favorably with yields of 4.72 kg/plant. Keywords : Hydroponics; Autopot technology; Growing media; Cherry tomatoes; Fertigation automation

Abstract

Tanaman Talas (Colocasia esculenta (L). Schott ) merupakan salah satu bahan pangan lokal yang dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang swasembada pangan nasional. Salah satu cara untuk menunjang pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang baik dilakukan kajian analisis penjadwalan irigasi yang tepat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji penjadwalan irigasi pada budidaya Talas Pratama (Colocasia esculenta (L). Schott var. Pratama) di lahan penelitian menggunakan aplikasi Cropwat 8.0 untuk mengoptimalkan ketersediaan air. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis yaitu dengan mengumpulkan data-data yang dibutuhkan serta menganalisis dan menggambarkan besarnya kebutuhan air dan interval pemberian air irigasi dengan menggunakan Software Cropwat 8.0 yang dikembangkan oleh FAO. Interval waktu yang digunakan yaitu berdasarkan setiap tahap pertumbuhan talas dengan jumlah air yang diberikan hingga memenuhi kapasitas lapang pada lahan penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa jumlah kebutuhan air tanaman Talas Pratama (Colocasia esculenta (L). Schott var. Pratama) berdasarkan Cropwat 8.0 yaitu sebesar 1093.9 mm sedangkan kebutuhan air irihasi untuk interval 3 hari, dan 1.853.400 liter untuk interval 4 hari adalah 1.605.150 liter pada lahan seluas 1500 m2.

Abstract

Corn waste, tithonia and cattle manure are three materials that have different characteristics. These charactersitics differences if used together in the composting process will  complement each other and potentially produce good compost. This research was conducted to find out how the composting process characteristics by utilizing the three raw materials with different characteristics in a composting process. The composting process was carried out using a berkeley method which was stacked with a layered bioreactor. The decomposition process that occurs involving decompisted bacteria, so the composting process runs aerobically. Aerobic composting  corn waste with the addition of tithonia and cattle manure finished in about 4-5 weeks to become a mature compost. The quality of the compost produced is quite good because the content contained in compost fulfills most of the quality standards regulated in SNI 7763: 2018. The addition of tithonia and cattle manure has a positive impact in the process of composting corn plants in terms of duration and good compost. Key words : aerobic, cattle manure, composting, corn waste, tithonia

Abstract

Abstrak. Limbah pertanian jagung yang belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik dapat menyebabkan timbunan limbah yang mempersempit area penanaman selanjutnya. Salah satu pemanfaatan limbah tanaman jagung adalah dengan cara dikomposkan. Pengomposan dilakukan dengan penambahan tanaman kipahit dan pupuk kandang kambing untuk mengoptimalkan proses pengomposan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik proses pengomposan menggunakan metode berkeley. Pengamatan dilakukan pada pengondisian bahan awal kompos dengan rasio C/N 30, 35 dan 40. Penelitian mendapatkan semakin rendah penyesuaian rasio C/N awal pengomposan maka suhu puncak proses pengomposan semakin tinggi. Proses pengomposan membentuk fase termofilik dengan titik tertinggi 63,3oC pada bioreaktor A. Proses pengomposan pada bioreaktor B  mengalami fase termofilik paling lama yaitu 18 hari dan reduksi volume terbanyak yaitu 78,9%. Akhir pengomposan pada bioreaktor A, B dan C menghasilkan pH yang alkali dan rasio C/N  berturut-turut 13,5, 10 dan 15,5. Parameter di atas telah sesuai dengan standar baku mutu kriteria pupuk organik padat SNI 7763:2018.Characteristics Study Of Corn Waste Composting Process With Tithonia And Sheep Manure Addition Abstract. Corn waste that was not used properly into waste stack which will reduce the area of the upcoming planting. Composting is one of the ways for corn waste management. Corn waste composting is carried out by adding tithonia and goat manure to optimize the process. The objective of the study is to determine the characteristics of composting process by using the Berkeley method. The observations were undertaken at various initial composting material C/N ratio 30, 35 and 40. Base on the study result, the lower C/N ratio, the higher thermophilic peak.. The composting process forms the highest peak temperature thermophilic  at 63.3oC in bioreactor A. The composting process in bioreactor B has longest thermophilic phase (18 days) and the biggest reduction (78.9%). The last characteristics were observed are composting process in bioreactor A, B and C results in alkaline pH and  C/N ratio 13.5, 10, and 15.5, respectively. The parameters above have qualified SNI 7763:2018.
