Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian yang berkaitan dengan kekayaan jenis dan distribusi burung di Danau  Meno – Lombok Barat pada bulan Juni – Nopember 2007. Estimasi kelimpahan populasi burung dilakukan dengan metode jelajah dan pola penggunaan habitatnya dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis kelompok.  Selama penelitian telah ditemukan 24 jenis burung yang termasuk ke dalam 13 famili. Berdasarkan pola penggunaan habitatnya secara meruang, burung-burung yang ditemukan di Danau Meno pola distribusinya  dapat dikelompokkan ke dalam 3 model, yaitu burung danau dan mangrove, burung mangrove dan luar, burung luar mangrove.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk  mengetahui kompetensi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi kelas unggulan dan kelas reguler pada pelaksanaan PPL di sekolah tahun 2014/2015. Jumlah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi yang mengikuti PPL 46 mahasiswa yang ditempatkan di 23 sekolah. Mahasiswa kelas unggulan berjumlah 18 mahasiswa dan kelas reguler berjumlah 28 mahasiswa.  Teknik pengumpulan data kompetensi mahasiswa yang melaksanakan PPL di sekolah  melalui observasi yang dilakukan oleh guru pamong dengan menggunakan instrument dari UPPPL FKIP Universitas Mataram. Data penelitian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penilaian kompetensi dalam melaksanakan PPL dikategorikan menjadi lima kategori yaitu, 1=(sangat tidak baik), 2=(tidak baik), 3=(cukup), 4=(baik), 5=(sangat baik). Analisis kompetensi mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan PPL dianalisis menggunakan Anova dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi mahasiswa PPL pada aspek perencanaan pembelajaran memiliki rerata skor 4,19 kelas unggulan dan 4,30 kelas reguler yang termasuk kategori baik. Kompetensi mahasiswa PPL pada aspek pelaksanaan pembelajaran memiliki rerata skor 3,77 kelas unggulan dan 4,11 kelas reguler, yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Kompetensi  mahasiswa pada aspek penilaian sikap dan kepribadian memiliki rerata skor 4,38 untuk kelas unggulan dan 4,28 kelas reguler yang termasuk dalam kategori baik. Hasil analisis uji anova satu jalur menujukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kompetensi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi kelas unggulan dengan kelas reguler dalam melaksanaan PPL di sekolah tahun 2014/2015. Kata kunci: Kompetensi Guru, PPL, Pendidikan Biologi ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research is to know the competency students of Biology Education Study Program on excellent and  regular classes in conducting Field Experience Program in 2014/2015. There are 46 students conducted Field Experience Program in 23 schools. Eighteen of them are excellent class and the rest twenty eight students are regular class. Data  of this research were collected by observation of theacher tutor,  where it is using   the instrument of Field Experience Program Implementation Unit  Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University Mataram. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The data  of students competency in conducting  Field Experience Program were analyzed using ANOVA with software SPSS version 16. The results  show that the average score of the Field Experience Program students competency in all aspects of planning  4.19 for excellent class and 4.30 for regular class. the competency of  Field Experience Program students in implementation aspect has the average score of 3.77 for excellent class and 4.11 for regular class. Competency of students in the aspect of attitude and personality has average score of 4.38 for excellent class and 4.28  for regular class. these average all aspect have good categories. The result of  ANOVA analysis has show there is no different  in competency of students of Biology Education Study Program classes between excellent  and regular classes in carry out  Field Experience Program in school the year of 2014/2015.Keywords: Competency of Teachers, Field Experience Program, Biology Education

Abstract

Mount Rinjani area on the island of Lombok is unique in bioecology. It provides habitats for many species of birds, especially birds of Wallacea. Several studies on birds in this area have been done, but the conservation priority of these birds has not been determined. Based on this condition, the purpose of this research is to determine the priority of birds conservation in mount Rinjani areas. Exploration about the spesies of birds was started from Senaru Village to Segara Anak Lake. Abundance of each bird species was estimated using point count. Data analysis to determine the conservation priority used indicators that consist of endemicity, population status, species threatened and species management. The results showed that the birds species in mount Rinjani areas are composed of 32 species belonging to 20 families. Bird species that have high abundance were Amandava amandava (15.94%), Zosterops Montanus (15.70%), and Parus major (11.32%), while Ptilinopus melanospila and Anthus novaeseelandiae were in low abundance (0.23%). Analysis birds conservation priority in mount Rinjani areas indicates that Otus jolandae has the highest score (65) and should be the first priority for the conservation, while Philemon buceroides and Gallus varius with the same score (60) are the second priority. Abstract

A research has been conducted to determine the effect of the implementation of biological learning tools based the local potential on the cognitive abilities of students in SMAN 1 Lembar. This research is a quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The samples of this research were determined by Purposive sampling technique. The two classes were chosen as the sample.The were class X MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 1 as the control class. Hypothesis test using t polled variance test with 5% significant level for pre-test and post-test data then continued with N-Gain improvement test. The results showed the average increasing of learning acievement for student in experimental class was 0,8 (high category) and average increasing in learning outcomes in the control class was 0.6 (medium category). It can be concluded that the implementation of biological learning tools based on the local potential affects the students' cognitive abilities in SMAN 1 Lembar.

Abstract

Previous research only focuses on the difficulties and factors causing learning difficulties without any solution. This study aimed to identify learning difficulties, factors, and alternative solutions overcoming the problems of learning difficulties about viruses and bacteria. Data collection was carried out through the provision of a concept mastery test involving 195 students (8 schools) and in-depth interviews conducted by involving 37 students (4 schools) who received the lowest test scores. Data analysis was performed using a percentage formula to determine the proportion of difficulties for each competency. The results showed that students had difficulty with the highest percentage of virus material, those were the competence of analyzing the role of viruses in life (85.64%) and virus replication process (83.21%). The competence in bacterial material which has the highest percentage of difficulty (77.26%) in identify bacterial classification. The factors causing students to have difficulty learning virus and bacteria consisted of the nature of the topic (77.03%), attitudes and learning habits (60.81%), teacher?s teaching skills (37.84%), and school facilities (27.03%). Alternative solutions are: teachers reduce the content that is complex and detailed, carry out an interactive learning process (audiovisual/animation), providing more learning experiences through practical activities, and teaching through interesting ways.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sayuran organik menggunakan teknologi EM4. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan bersama dengan dua mitra yaitu Berugaq Organik Narmada dan kelompok tani Bug-Bug di Desa Lembuak Kecamatan Narmada. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap kegiatan yaitu sosialisasi pentingnya mengkonsumsi sayuran  organik  dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik menggunakan teknologi EM4, pembuatan pestisida organik dan perbanyakan kultur EM4. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan 2 kali dan diikuti oleh 15 orang peserta yang merupakan perwakilan dari masing-masing mitra. Setelah kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan dilakukan pendampingan dalam menyediakan media tanam sayur bayam dan sawi, menerapkan pupuk organik dan pestisida organik, pemanenan, pengemasan dan pemasaran sayuran organik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa  semua anggota dari  kelompok mitra (100%) menerapkan  teknologi EM4 untuk mengembangkan sayuran organik. Disamping itu untuk pengembangan sayuran organik dalam jangka panjang, mitra telah berhasil juga dalam melakukan pembuatan pestisida organik dan perbanyakan kultur EM4. Pada akhir kegiatan pengabdian, kedua mitra telah berhasil mengembangkan sayur bayam dan sawi organik yang dijual secara door to door, pasar tradisional dan kawasan car free day yang ada di Kota Mataram. Harga penjualan sayuran organik yang dihasilkan mampu meningkatkan pendapatan kotor kedua mitra sebesar 150% jika dibandingkan dengan mengembangkan sayuran non organik.Keywords: Sayur organik, Teknologi EM4, Narmada
