Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the ARCS model to improve student learning outcomes in intergrated thematic learning in class IV UPTD SD N 01 IV Koto Talago, Lima Puluh Kota district. In this study, the type of classroom action research (CAR) was applied using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this study were teachers and students of class IV, totaling 19 people. The results showed an increase in: a) RPP cycle I with an average of 82,9% (Enough) and cycle II with an average of 95,45% (Very Good), b) Imlement in the teacher activity of cycle I with an average of 81,25% (Enough) and cycle II with an average of 95% (Very Good), c) Imlement in the student activity of cycle I with an average of 81,25% (Enough) and cycle II with an average of 92,5% (Very Good). And student learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained an average of 74,75(Less) and in the second cycle 89,1 (Good). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ARCS model can improve the learning process integrated thematic learning in grade IV elementary school.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik sekolah dasar berdampak buruk pada kualitas pembelajaran. Karenanya perlu sebuah model pembelajaran guna meningkatakan hasil belajar pada diri peserta didik yaitu menggunakan model pembelajaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar gaya dan energi peserta didik di kelas IV sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur model discovery learning ini terdiri dari enam tahap yaitu stimulation, problem statement, data collection,data processing, dan generalization. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peserta didik yang berjumlah 25 orang. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh siklus I pada RPP memperoleh nilai rata-rata 80,12 dengan kualifikasi Baik, meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 92,85 dengan kualifikasi Sangat baik. Pelaksanaan siklus I pada aktivitas guru memperoleh nilai rata-rata 82,81 dengan kualifikasi Baik, meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 96,87 dengan kualifikasi Sangat Baik. Pelaksanaan siklus I pada aktivitas peserta didik memperoleh nilai rata-rata 82,81 dengan kualifikasi Baik meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 96,87 dengan kualifikasi Sangat Baik. Sedangkan hasil belajar peserta didik siklus I dengan nilai akhir 78,05 meningkat pada siklus II dengan perolehan 93,32. Dengan demikian model discovery learning terbukti mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar gaya dan energi pada pembelajaran sains tematik di kelas IV sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning achievement of elementary school students. Second semester students majoring in elementary school teacher education (PGSD) FIP UNP Padang were involved as research subjects. As many as 24 students were given science learning by using the Problem Based Learning model. Subjects/samples of the study were given learning actions in the lectures of the basic concepts of Natural Sciences. Data obtained after the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics. This research was a classroom action research and was carried out for two cycles. The research findings show the results that an increase in student learning achievement with an average achievement score in cycle one of 76.28 and an average score in the second cycle of 88.46. An increase in score of 86.75. The findings can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving student learning achievement rather than independent learning. Thus the science learning model Problem Based Learning can be used as an alternative model to improve student achievement in the digestive system material.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was toinvestigate the effect of Discovery Learning  model on student learning outcomes on the theme Object Around Usat 5th grade of Elementary School integrated thematic learning. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental research design. The population of this research is the students of 5th grade of elementary school in Region Six Garegeh of Bukittinggi City. The sample of this research is the 5th grade students of SDN 04 Garegeh consisting of two classes with the number of students VA class is 33 students and VB class is 32 students. Sampling was done by random sampling. Based on the research that has been done, obtained tcount> ttable that is 7,185 > 1,998 with α = 0,05 so it can be concluded Ha accepted that there is influence the use of Discovery Learning model of student learning outcomes. Keyword : Discovery Learning model, learning outcomes

Abstract

Due to the importance of attractive learning materials in achieving a qualified learning results, it needs to carry on the development of the materials. The aim of this research is to develop science teaching materials using problem-based-learning model for primary school students. The developed  teaching materials should strengthen the students' knowledge and thinking skills. This research and development refers to Thiagarajan model, consisting of defining, designing, developing, and dessiminating stage. The defining stage is conducted to have curriculum analysis, needs analysis, concept analysis and student analysis. At the designing stage, the researchers design the teaching materials. At the next stage, the proposed teaching materials are tested in terms of validity and practicality through validation sheet and questionnaire response of teachers and students. At the dessiminating stage,  the researchers conduct a limited-scale deployment to notify the effectiveness of teaching materials on the achievement of activities and student learning outcomes. As the result, it indicates that the problem-based-teaching materials obtain high validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

AbstractThis research motivated was the low science learning results of elementary school students as a need for a learning approach that can improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of scientific approaches on students' learning outcomes of science learning in elementary schools. This research is an experimental study. The research instruments used was study test results. The results of the research with the calculation of t-test obtained the value t-count = 2,179 while t-table = 1,680 where t-count > t-table then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. These results confirm that there is an influence of scientific approaches on students' learning outcomes in science learning. The implication of this research can be used as a reference for teachers in improving the science learning outcomes of elementary school.Keywords: scientific approach, learning outcomes, elementary school

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to develop a problem-based model of science and mathematics integration for use by PGSD students that were valid and feasible to use in learning, to find out the effectiveness of problem-based science and mathematics integration models for basic education developed and help students to understand mathematical concepts and the concept of science and accelerate student graduation. In this study, it has reached the design and develop stage, the product has been validated, but it still needs testing steps to see the effectiveness of the product produced. Abstract

The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 requires students to have higher-order thinking skills in solving everyday problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of high-order thinking skills of elementary school students using problem-based learning. This research was a classroom action research conducted on 30 fifth grade students of SDN 05 Birugo. The results showed that the average score of students' initial ability was 45.00 with a percentage of completeness of 35%, in cycle 1 getting an average score of 58.00 with a percentage of completeness of 70% and in cycle 2 getting an average score of 75.00 with 80% completeness. The results showed an increase of high-order thinking skills of elementary school students using problem-based learning. The implications of this study can be used as a reference for improving Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of elementary school students.

Abstract

This type of research is development. The development model used is a 4-D model, consisting of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and deploying. The research data obtained from validity, practicality and rights testing. Data collected descriptively. The results showed that the development of educational science game media with the help of the AppsGeyser application based on the Problem Based Learning model to improve the environmental care character of the fifth grade elementary school students developed had met valid, practical and effective criteria with (1) media validity test results, namely the media aspect, the material and language score in the very good category, the validity test of the lesson plan scores in the very good category, and the validity test for the character of environmental care obtains a score in the valid and very valid category (2) the results of the practicality test of instructional media by the teacher and students obtained the value in the very practical category. (3) the results of the effective test in the form of learning outcomes, namely the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains each obtained an average score of 84, 83, and 85 in the very good category, and the results of the early student environmental character effectiveness test obtained an average value. 73.9 and 86.6 for the average score in the category are very effective.

Abstract

This study aims to describe a valid, practical and effective RME-based mathematics learning tool for increasing the ability to understand mathematical concepts of elementary school students. The research was conducted at SDN 41 Kinali, West Pasaman Regency. There were 27 grade students in grade IV as research subjects. This type of research is the development with the Plomp model. The validity level of the aspects of content, language, presentation by the validator is 90.09% with a very valid category. The practicality of the learning tools from the teacher's response was 97.3% and the response of students was 85.53% which means very practical. Then the average final test results of the students were 90.83. Thus it is known that the developed RME-based mathematics learning tool is suitable for use in grade IV SD.
