Abstract

Socialization and training in making water filter devices with activated carbon for household purposes, 1Widya Mulya, 2Maslina, 3Lina Yuliana, University of Balikpapan, Pupuk Raya Street Gunung Bahagia, Balikpapan City, the burden of impurities on the river increases, resulting in an increase in the processing burder on water tratment plants, so that the quality of water received by the community sometimes decreases such as smelly, colored and turbid, so community service is conducted regarding the socialization and training of water purifier manufacture with activated carbon media household designation. The lecture method was chosen to provide an explanation, the question and answer method is very important for participants both when receiving an explanation and understanding, this simulation method is very important given to participants to provide opportunities to practice the lecture material obtained on how to make activated carbon from a coconut shell, how to manufacture a water filter equipped with activated carbon for household purposes. The results of the manufacture of activated carbon include containers/ cans on the lid are given a few holes, coconut shell as raw meterial for making activated carbon cleaned from fibers, burn containers/ cans containing coconut shell (which is tightly closed) until the embers of combustion are almost gone. the results of the manufacture of water purification equipment, using a 600 ml drink bottle was given a hole for the inlet and outlet of water, at the bottom inserted 5 cm thick a activated carbon then covered by a 5 cm thick cotton layer. In this activity in charcoal can be done by boiling, for the thickness of the media if thicker will make the water quality clearer. Keywords: Water Purifier, Activated Carbon, Household.

Abstract

K-Store adalah unit usaha department store PRIMKOKAS (Primer Koperasi Karyawan Krakatau Steel), toko swalayan yang menjual barang-barang konsumsi dan perlengkapan rumah tangga. Pengoperasian department store tentunya tidak lepas dari keberadaan gudang/ruang penyimpanan barang. Adapun permasalahan yang dialami adalah layout gudang yang tidak tertata dengan baik membuat proses material handling menjadi kurang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan usulan perbaikan tata letak pabrik dengan meminimasi jarak material handling. Pengolahan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan metode CRAFT (Computerized Relative Allocation Facilities Technique). Metode CRAFT dilakukan dengan mempertukarkan lokasi kegiatan pada layout awal unuk menemukan pemecahan yang lebih baik berdasarkan peta hubungan aktifitas. Pertukaran-pertukaran selanjutnya membawa ke arah layout yang mendekati jarak material handling yang minimum. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan jarak material handling pada layout awal adalah 257,3 meter. Sedangkan Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan jarak material handling pada layout usulan adalah 241,65 meter. Layout usulan dengan menggunakan metode CRAFT memberikan pengurangan total jarak material handling sebesar 15,65 meter. Dengan demikian, penerapan layout usulan akan membuat proses pergudangan di gudang K-Store menjadi lebih optimal.

Abstract

Mata adalah indera penglihatan pada manusia yang mempunyai reseptor untuk menangkap rangsang cahaya dan warna. Indera penglihatan sangat vital jika dibandingkan dengan indera yang lainnya. Oleh karena itu kesehatan mata merupakan hal yang menjadi salah satu perhatian bagi setiap orang. Keluhan Kelelahan mata merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan di Indonesia khususnya kesehatan mata yang prevalensinya pada usia sekolah masih cukup tinggi. Di Indonesia saat ini masih tampak kurangnya perhatian di beberapa daerah mengenai masalah kesehatan mata (Purnama,2013). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keluhan kelelahan mata pada mahasiswa di Gedung G Universitas Balikpapan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji regresi linier berganda Keluhan kelelahan mata Zona Selamat Sekolah kurang memiliki pengaruh terhadap keselamatan penyeberang jalan di SD Kemala Bhayangkari Balikpapan. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil analisis data kecepatan kendaraan dan hasil analisis data perilaku penyebrang jalan yang menunjukkan bahwa penyeberang jalan di SD Kemala Bhayangkari Balikpapan belum selamat walaupun telah ada Zona Selamat Sekolah.

Abstract

Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja yang disebut SMK3 sesuai dengan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 50 Tahun 2012 tentang Penerapan Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja merupakan bagian dari sistem manajemen organisasi secara keseluruhan yang meliputi struktur organisasi, perencanaan, tanggung jawab, pelaksanaan, penerapan, pencapaian, pengkajian dan pemeliharaan kebijakan K3 dalam rangka pengendalian risiko yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan kerja untuk menciptakan tempat kerja yang aman, efisien dan produktif. 5 prinsip dasar dalam penerapan SMK3 yang wajib diterapkan oleh perusahaan adalah Penetapan kebijakan K3, Perencanaan K3, Pelaksanaan rencana K3, Pemantauan dan evaluasi kinerja K3, dan Peninjauan dan peningkatan kinerja SMK3. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasi, sampel berjumlah 19 orang, jenis data di peroleh dari data primer dan data sekunder, teknik pengambilan data dengan menggunakan beberapa cara yaitu observasi dan kuesioner, kemudian data di uji dengan menggunakan uji validitas dan realibilitas, lalu data dianalisis menggunakan analisis bivariat dan mulivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat atau tinggi pada pelaksanaan rencana sistem manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja yang meliputi SOP/Prosedur Kerja, Pelatihan K3, Tindakan Pengendalian terhadap kinerja karyawan PT SSC WORKS di Balikpapan.

Abstract

behaviour-based Safety is a tool for observing behaviour to create safe behaviour and prevent work accidents. This study aims to evaluate the behaviour-based Safety program in the observation card program at PT Penajam Banua Taka Harbor. The National Safety Council (NSC) (2011) conducted research which resulted in 88% of the causes of work accidents due to unsafe behaviour, 10% due to unsafe conditions and 2% of unknown causes. PT Denso Indonesia's work accident rate has also decreased by 66.67–88.89% so that BBS activation in the company can be prevented and reduce the incidence of work accidents. Based on preliminary study data, it was obtained that 30% of employees were mature about safety-based programs and 60% reported unsafe action figures. Employees are not yet committed to reporting unsafe action findings and unsafe conditions with the observation card program. This causes the objectives of the behaviour-based Safety Program to prevent work accidents have not been optimally achieved. This research is descriptive quantitative. The population are an employee of the Operational Department of PT Pelabuhan Penajam Banua Taka, the amount of sample is 37 respondents. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. In the input element, the Sub-element of Critical Safety Determination Behaviour has the highest effectiveness value, which is equal to 78.05%, while the training has the lowest effectiveness value, which is 73.94%. The Observation and Feedback Process element has the highest effectiveness value is the implementation of observations, which is 76.75%. meanwhile, Field / Equipment / System Modification has the lowest effectiveness value, which is 70.27%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of risk of hazardous and toxic materials in the city of Balikpapan. The method used is a risk assessment carried out by looking at the potential hazards and the level of exposure. Referring to the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment Number 74 of 2019 concerning the Emergency Program for B3 & or B3 Waste Management, the data and information needed for risk assessment are: type of B3 Management activity, type of industry, B3 classification, amount of B3, potential threat to the safety of human life ; and potential threats to environmental functions. The results showed that the average B3 emergency risk value in the Balikpapan Energy, Oil and Gas Mining sector from the KLHK and Ministry of Manpower approaches was 32.87 and 32.81, respectively; which means moderate risk. The dominant types of B3 are flammable and corrosive and most of the B3 are B3 category 1. The average B3 emergency risk value in the Balikpapan Water Supply Sector from the KLHK and Ministry of Manpower approaches is 24, which means low risk. The dominant type of B3 is corrosive and most of the B3 is B3 category 1. The average level of B3 risk in the city of Balikpapan as a whole from the KLHK and Ministry of Manpower approaches is 31.56 and 31.51 (medium). If the highest category is taken, the risk level for B3 waste is at a low level. Potential for B3 emergencies: B3 spills, fires, explosions, exposure to humans and environmental pollution.

Abstract

Housekeeping is one of the risk controls in the control hierarchy which aims to organize a good work environment. Setting up a good work environment has a big impact on preventing wasted work time. Based on data obtained from RIDDOR (The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) that 35% of the injuries received by workers were due to slips, trips, and falls from a height. Work accidents that have occurred at PT XYZ are minor injuries, scratches by sharp objects and tripping. The type of research in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted in the warehouse area. The research subjects were 6 workers who were involved in repair and sales activities. Data collection techniques are observation and interviews. The variables in this study consisted of each housekeeping component as a variable, namely Concise, Neat, Clean, Treat, and Diligent. The implementation of housekeeping in the company's warehouse area is included in the ineffective category, with each value being concise (60%), neat (30%), clean (75%), caring (35%), and diligent (50%). The recommendations given are to improve the principles of neatness, care, and diligence in accordance with the findings at the work location, including making an inventory list of equipment and goods laying plans, ensuring that supporting housekeeping work principles are installed, and providing regular training and education so that workers understand and can implement housekeeping principles properly. Keywords: Accident; Housekeeping; Implementation; Prevention; Work

Abstract

As efforts to implement occupational health include preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative health/medical efforts. Thus, occupational health is one of the two main pillars of progress and cleanliness of Occupational Health and Safety. The health examination of the workforce aims to improve and maintain the degree of physical, mental and social health. Carpenter is someone who has the task of assembling and installing scaffolding, formwork, roof trusses, stairs, railings, floor construction, wooden walls, and installing window door frames, ceiling frames and ceiling coverings based on working drawings, technical specifications and work instructions. . The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the degree of health status of Carpenter. This type of research was an analytic survey with a cross sectional study approach. This research was conducted from June to September 2021. The population was 105 people and a sample of 52 people was determined by the purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques by means of interviews and document review. The tools for data collection are questionnaires and Medical Check Up results, for in-depth interviews conducted to HSE officers. The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between the work area (0.692) and the health status of carpenter workers. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the work area and the degree of health status of Carpenter workers at PT. XYZ Balikpapan.

Abstract

Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) is one of the risks for nurses in the hospital. Several diseases related to the HAIs, such as HIV and hepatitis. The level of compliance behavior in using PPE is one of the solutions in controlling the hazards caused by illnesses and injuries (accident). Hospital X is one of the general hospitals in Surabaya. Accident rates for patient's body fluids and needle stick injury are 51.1% and 46.7%.Aims: This study was aimed to analyze the correlated factor with the  level of   compliance behavior in using personal protective equipment (PPE) on nurses at inpatient installation. Methodology and results: This research was a quantitative method with cross sectional design and observational study. The total sample technique was used to get sample (n = 29). The result of this study is the correlation coefficient of employment status (r = 0.340), working shift (r = 0.446), knowledge (r= 0,394), Attitude (r= 0,215 ). From the result of correlation test, that is shown the work shift is stronger correlation than knowledge with the level of compliance behavior. From the result of regression test simultanly, that is showing the variables of working shift and knowledge were significant values. Then, the value of Pseudo R-Square, the variables of working shift andd knowledge is about 46,9%.. Conclusion: Work shift and knowledge have a correlation to the level of compliance behavior in using PPE, both in bivariate and multivariate test.

Abstract

The industrial sector can be said to be one of the sectors that contribute to the highest number of work accidents in Indonesia because it has a high risk of work accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in reporting hazards in accordance with PP No. 50 of 2012. This study was descriptive with data collection methods in the form of observation and interviews. The implementation of the OHS Management System at PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental Shorebase Tanjung Batu is carried out in an integrated manner in accordance with the ISO 45001 standard, especially in element 8 regarding hazard reporting and improvement of deficiencies. The result of the implementation of hazard reporting is 75%, which is included in the good category. PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental is expected to be more transparent in terms of reporting hazards in the workplace to every worker, so that companies can maximize their efforts to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases.
