Abstract

Abstract: Ethnomathematics study of islands indigenous peoples in Maluku Province, Indonesia. Objective: The aim of this study was implementation of a mathematics study in learning related to island communities’ context in Maluku. Methods: This study used methods of exploration, documentation and literature study. Findings: Many local communities in the Maluku did not realize that all selling activities, handicraft, or woven are included in mathematics in the form of fractions or geometry. Conclusion: this study concluded that the activities of selling, weaving and crafting in the community display fraction and geometry patternsKeywords: Ethnomatematics, island indigenous peoples, fractions, geometry. Abstrak: Kajian Etnomatematika Dalam Masyarakat Adat Kepulauan di Provinsi Maluku, Indonesia. Tujuan: Implementasi kajian matematika dalam pembelajaran berkaitan dengan konteks masyarakat kepulauan di Maluku. Metode: Metode eksplorasi, dokumentasi dan studi literatur., Temuan: Banyak masyarakat lokal di Maluku yang lokal yang tidak menyadari bahwa seluruh aktivitas jualan, tenunan maupun kerajinan atau anyaman masuk dalam bentuk matematik berupa pecahan maupun geometri. Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa aktivitas jualan, tenun, dan kerajinan masyarakat menampilkan pola pecahan dan geometri. Kata kunci: Etnomatematika, masyarakat adat kepuluan, pecahan, geometri.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v9.i1.201914

Abstract

Abstract: Comparison of problem based learning and realistic mathematics education to improve student academic performance. Objectives: The aim of this study was to see an increase in the academic performance of island studentsin Ambon City by applying the problem based learning (PBL) learning model and realistic mathematics education (RME). Methods: This research was in the form of a descriptive qualitative study with a case study approach and a sample of 116 students. Findings: There was a significant increase in student academic performance at each meeting and learning outcomes with PBL were higher than RME. Conclusion: The PBL model is more effective in increasing students’academic performance than RMEbecause students were facilitated with online-based mediain PBL when compared to RME, so that it can attract students' attention in learning and have a significant impact on student academic performance.Keywords: Academic performance, problem-based learning, academic realistic mathematics education Abstrak: Perbandingan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pendidikan matematika realistik untuk meningkatan performa akademik siswa. Tujuan: Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah melihat peningkatan performa akademik siswa kepulauan di Kota Ambon dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) dan realistic mathematics education (RME). Metode: Penelitian ini berupa studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dan sampel penelitian sebanyak 116 siswa. Temuan: Terjadi peningkatkan yang cukup signifikan untuk performa akademik siswa pada setiap pertemuan dan hasil belajar dengan PBL lebih tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan RME. Kesimpulan: Model PBl lebih efektif dalam meningkatan performa akademik siswa dibandingkan dengan RME, hal ini karena pada PBL siswa difasilitasi dengan media berbasis online bila dibandingkan dengan RME, sehingga dapat menarik perhatian siswa dalam belajar dan berdampak signifikan pada performa akademik siswa.Kata kunci: Performa akademik, pembelajaran berbasis masalah, pendidikan matematika realistik akademikDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v9.i2.201921

Abstract

The ability to solve problems is the main goal in the educational process, including mathematics. Based on previous studies, it was found that the problem solving of students' problems was not as expected. One of the learning methods that can be used is the Polya model problem solving method. The purpose of this study was to improve problem solving skills using the Polya model on cube and cuboids material for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Tual. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of three cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects in the study were students of class VIIIa-3 SMP Negeri 1 Tual with a sample of 14 students. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and tests. The data analysis technique used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Based on the results, it can be concluded that: (1) There is an increase in the problem solving ability of students using the Polya model (2) the errors made by students related to problem solving abilities in the Polya model are errors in the processing and conclusions. Based on the results obtained, it can be said that there is an increase in problem solving abilities using the Polya model

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning results of learners on the material of building flat side space that is still low. This research was conducted to improve learners' learning outcomes on flat-sided room building materials through jigsaw-type cooperative learning models in class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Kei Kecil. This type of research is a class action study (PTK) consisting of two cycles with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects in this study were class VIII learners with a sample of 15 learners. The data collection techniques in this study are observations and tests. Cycle I results in as much as 60% of learners reach KKM and do not meet the classic completion of 65%. The results of cycle II showed an increase of 86.67% of learners reaching KKM and fulfilling classical completion of 65%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that using a jigsaw-type cooperative learning model can improve the learning outcomes of students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 9 Kei Kecil

Abstract

Mathematical problem solving ability is one of the abilities that must be mastered by students in order to be able to mathematically solve problems often found in real life. The purpose of this study was to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the volume of cubes and blocks equivalent to the TIMSS instrument. The research subjects are five students of class IX science at SMP Negeri 1 Masohi who were selected based on the category of problem solving ability. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research supported by quantitative data. The data obtained from this study is data on mathematical problem solving ability tests such as written tests and interviews. The results show that students with very high abilities are able to interpret problems well, interpret strategies and problem-solving steps accaording to the plan, and consistently check back. Students with high abilities are able to apply the four steps in solving ploblems even though there are some questions that students make mistakes in setting strategies and substituting scores at the completion stage. Students with moderate abilities sometimes make mistakes in setting a strategy, make calculation errors, and do not check back to the maximum so that they get inaccurate results. Meanwhile students with low abilities unable to meet the completeness of the stage of understand the problem is writing down the things that are known and asked. As for students with low abilities cannot solve problems completely because of poor planning. Making mistakes in calculations and not checking again so that they do not get the right results

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep matematis adalah kemampuan siswa dalam menemukan dan menjelaskan, menerjemahkan, menafsirkan dan menyimpulkan suatu konsep matematis berdasarkan pembentukan sendiri, bukan hanya sekedar menghafal. sehingga mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan, dalam hal ini pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekrispikan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi fungsi di kelas X SMA Kartika XIII 1 Ambon. Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualititatif deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 3 subjek yang diambil berdasarkan hasil tes awal yang diberikan oleh guru kemudian dikelompokan dalam 3 kategori yaitu kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah berdasarkan kriteria dari guru. Selanjutnya, diambil 1 orang dari setiap kategori yang ada untuk melakukan tes pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi fungsi dengan ketentuan bahwa ke-3 subjek memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik dan mampu memberi tanggapan pada tahapan wawancara setelah mengerjakan soal fungsi yang diberikan oleh peneliti. Dari ketiga subjek berdasarkan hasil wawancara ditemukan bahwa subjek dengan kategori tinggi cenderung memiliki kemampuan indikator pemahaman konsep yang baik dibanding dengan subjek kategori sedang begitu pula subjek dengan kategori sedang cenderung memiliki pemahaman konsep yang cukup baik dibanding dengan subjek dengan kategori rendah yang memiliki pemahaman konsep yang kurang baik

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh dan besar pengaruh gaya belajar di masa pandemi terhadap kemampuan problem solving pada materi bentuk aljabar bagi siswa kelas VII SMP Katolik Ambon. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah ex post facto dengan mengambil sampel dari kelas VII-A dan VII-B SMP Katolik Ambon sebanyak 44 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket gaya belajar dan tes kemampuan problem solving. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 22 yang terdiri dari analisis deskriptif, dan analisis statistik inferensial. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana, karena hanya memiliki satu varibel bebas dan satu variabel terikat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh gaya belajar di masa pandemi terhadap kemampuan problem solving pada materi bentuk aljabar bagi siswa kelas VII SMP Katolik Ambon. Besar pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap kemampuan problem solving sebesar 5.1% sedangkan 94.9% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning outcomes of flat rectangle using the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model in class VIID of SMP Negeri Tiakur in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 school year with 15 students. Cycle I held 2 meetings and cycle II held 2 meetings including the final test of cycle I and cycle II. Data retrieval is done using learning outcomes test and observation sheets. The collected data were analyzed using quantitative and quality analysis. The results of this study indicate that the classical mastery learning outcomes of class VIID students of SMP Negeri Tiakur at the endof the first cycle are 46,67%. While the classical completeness value of student learning outcomes in the second cycle is 86,67%. Thus the learning outcomes of class VIID students of SMP Negeri Tiakur in cycleI to cycle II increased by 40% through the application of the Numbered Heads Together.
