Abstract

Hypertension is one type of non-communicable disease, which is increasing every year. Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and / or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Today the treatment of a disease including hypertension has been widely modified between pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies currently used is autogenic relaxation. Autogenic relaxation technique is one of the relaxation techniques that comes from ourselves in the form of words or short sentences or thoughts that can make the mind calm. Autogenic relaxation is done by imagining yourself in a state of peace and calm, focusing on regulating your breath and heartbeat. This study aims to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation on anxiety levels and changes in blood pressure in patients with hypertension history at Cipayung Health Center, East Jakarta. The research design used was a Quasi-experimental research design. The number of research samples is 58 respondents. The results showed that there were differences in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.000) and the anxiety level of respondents (p = 0.000) after autogenic relaxation interventions were performed.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg. Hypertension can be prevented by controlling a healthy lifestyle including sleep habits, eating habits, weight control, not smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages, exercising regularly and skillfully in managing stress. Efforts to control a healthy lifestyle by providing education. This study aims to determine the effect of healthy lifestyle education on early prevention of hypertension in adolescents. The study design used a quasi experiment pre-post test with control group. The study sample in the intervention group and the control group were 68 respondents. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling. The results showed that the respondents were on average 15 years old and most of the respondents were male in both the intervention group and the control group. Most respondents in the intervention group did not have a family history of hypertension, while in the control group most of the respondents had a history of hypertension from father or mother. There were significant differences in educating healthy lifestyles on changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group, whereas in the control group there were no significant differences.

Abstract

The hands-washing is a baseline procedure to prevent one of nosocomial infections suchas phlebitis. Nurses have a major role towards Phlebitis’ incidents because they alwaysinteract with their patients for 24 hours. The aim of this research was determine theinfluence of nurses’ compliance to perform hands-washing before inserting IV cathetertowards Phlebitis’ incidents. This research was using Descriptive Correlation designwith Cross Sectional approach. The numbers of sample were 111 nurses and 111admitted patients which were chosen by proportional stratified random samplingtechnique. The data collections were using questionnaires and observational forms. Thebivariate analysis was using Chi Square. The results of this research showed that there isno significant correlation between nurses’ characteristics with phlebitis’ incidents.Similarly, there is no significant correlation between nurses’ compliance to performhands-washing before inserting IV catheter with phlebitis’ incidents. Meanwhile, there isa significant correlation among the availability of hands-washing facilities withphlebitis’ incidents with p value = 0.000. The multivariate analysis was using multiplelogistic regression which showed that the availability of hands-washing facilities is themost dominant factor to decrease the numbers of phlebitis’ incidents with Odd Ratio19.333.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with hyperglycemia characteristics that can lead to kidney complications. One of them is Diabetic Nephropathy which is a complication of microvascular damage and its monitoring is done by checking serum creatinine and creatinine clearance test (CCT). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between serum creatinine levels and creatinine clearance test (CCT) in patients with type 2 DM. Perform a serum creatinine examination which is used as the basis for calculating CCT. From 53 data on type 2 DM patients who had high serum creatinine levels, 49 (92.5%) people, 51 (96.2%) people with low CCT levels. The results of Spearman's correlation statistical test showed a correlation between serum creatinine levels and CCT. The strength of the correlation is moderate, and the correlation shows a negative direction with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.389. It can be concluded that the higher the serum creatinine level, the lower the CCT value, so DM patients must control blood glucose regularly in order to prevent a decrease in kidney function that can lead to complications.
