Abstract

Talang Mulya KPPH farmers has been applying agroforestry system for their land cultivation, but the cropping pattern applied has not been adapted to its sloping conditions and plant spacing which result on non-optimal yields produce. Alley Cropping pattern consider as the most suitable approach. Current analysis can be carried out using mapping techniques and remote sensing using digital elevation data imagery. The DEMNAS imagery was used in this study, results showed that the mean altitude reached 396.67 masl and land slope reached 20.92% in average. The design of the cropping pattern using 1 meter height intervals shows the results of the number of planting arrays of 31.96 strips with 3,564.96 meters in length which is higher than the land with a height interval of 2 meters which results in a total of 10.6 strips with and 942.97 meter lengths. However, the field of agricultural cultivation that can be formed on land with 1 meter height intervals only reaches 4.94 meters, while at 2 meters height intervals it can reach 16.03 meters.

Abstract

Agroforestry plays an important role in supporting ecological, economic, and social aspects of small islands. This study aims to determine the dynamics of agroforestry land use in Pahawang Island. The method used the digital image interpretation technique with Geographical Information System (GIS) analysis on agroforestry land-use dynamics in 2006, 2014, and 2019. The research procedure is to classify images of forests, agroforestry, mangroves, fish pond, and settlements. Then, the land classification data being verified by ground checks to determine the accuracy of the data. Validity test used a confusion matrix, and a depth interview was conducted to determine the phenomena in the 2006–2014 period—the results obtained with an image accuracy rate in 2019 of 92.53%. The results show that there is an increasing and decreasing in the agroforestry land. The decreasing is due to the practice of buying and selling land by tourism investor. Partnership schemes and community-based tourism development can be carried out while maintaining the existing agroforestry conditions to support the sustainability of Pahawang Island.

Abstract

Nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrans) is a spice tree with high economic value. Nutmeg fruit was contains essential oil as the results of secondary metabolism process. Adequacy of sunlight, the average distance of intersect trees, the tree species and numbers of intersect trees on photosynthesis and the results of secondary metabolism. The aimed of the study was to analyze the rendemen yield obtained from the nutmeg fruit based on differences sunlight intensity with the differences stratum canopy and determine the factors that influence the yield of nutmeg essential oil. The differences of sunlight intensity was used as a treatment there were three classes of sunlight intensity which were low sunlight intensity (0-25%), the moderate sunlight intensity (25-75%) and the high sunlight intensity (75-100%). The multiple linier regression was employed as data analysis method. The result explained that the best sunlight intensity was the moderate (25-75%) with essensial oil rendemen as much 198,2 ml/kg. The result test F shown that in all variable (the sunlight intensity (X1), the average distance of intersect trees (X2), the tree species (X3) and numbers of intersect trees (X4)), significantly influened the production of essensial oil. The results of multiple linear regression analysis deliver the equation of Y = 2,133 + 0.037X1 + 0.275X2 - 0.226X3 - 0.049X4, the equation show a positive value means direcly proporsional to the result of yield by nutmeg essensial oil and a negative value means the opposite. 60,2% coeficient determination value, which means that the equation could explain 60,2% the variables influence to the nutmeg essensial oil rendemen. Keywords: essential oil, multiple linear regression, Myristica fragrans, sunlight intensity

Abstract

Community forest is a state forest that is utilized for the empowerment of local communities (Permenhut P.88/Menhut-11/2014). Agroforestri is one way to manage forest plants with a combination of agricultural crops with the hope of improving the community's economy without having to destroy the forest by knowing the density of plant species and maintaining plants. Knowing the density of species and plant maintenance is very important because to know the type of plant vegetation it is necessary to do the type of density while to know the productivity of plants it is necessary to know plant maintenance techniques. This study aims to determine the diversity of plant species in HKm Maju Jaya Pekon, Belalau District, West Lampung. This research was conducted in March 2021. Based on the results of the research, the density of each plant population was found, with the highest density being the coffee plant (Coffea robusta) of 929.83 individuals/ha. For the tree phase, the highest density was occupied by Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) by 22.9 individuals/ha. The highest percentage is weed control and branch pruning, which is as much as 100% of all respondents carrying out fertilization activities as much as 56.7%. Embroidery activities were 36.7%, pendangiran activities were 23.3%, pest and disease control activities were 6.7% and thinning activities were 6.7%.

Abstract

The development of a tourist attraction must pay attention to the tourists’necessity. To fulfill these needs there are 4 main components that must be fulfilled. This study aims to determine the assessment of tourists to the 4 main components (attraction, amenities, accessibility, and ancillary service) on the natural attractions of the Liwa Botanical Garden. This research was carried out in the Liwa Botanical Garden located in Kubu Perahu Village, Balik Bukit District, Liwa City, West Lampung Regency. Data was collected for 100 tourists by accidental sampling. Data analysis using a likert scale and data scoring. The results showed that of the 4 components of tourist destinations in the KRL object, only the attraction component had adequate value. The three other components (accessibility, safety and ancillary services) are in the sufficient category so that it would be better if there were improvements to the indicators of the 3 other variables such as: addition of public transportation, control of parking areas, addition of food stalls, procurement of lodging for public, improvement of central services information, the addition of public toilets, provided a special place to buy souvenirs, giving pictures of the types of rubbish in the trash, and need to add a communication network spot so that tourists feel more comfortable and enjoy their visit.
