Abstract

Indonesia memiliki banyak tanaman berkhasiat, diantaranya adalah daun nimba, daun tembakau, daun ubi karet, buah mengkudu, dan buah pinang. Bahan-bahan tersebut mengandung xeronine, sterol, alizarin, glisin, natrium, asam kaprilat, arginin, prokserin, antra kuinin, trace elemens, fenilalanin, niclos amida, magnesium terpenoid, zat antibakteri, asam arkobat, dan scopeletin sehingga dapat dijadikan tanaman herbal dan biopestisida ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan sebuah formula efektif yang dapat digunakan sebagai biopestisida untuk mengendalikan hama keong mas yang menyerang fase vegetatif tanaman padi. Penelitian dilakukan sejak bulan Mei sampai Juli 2017 menggunakan metode non faktorial secara acak di lokasi pertanaman padi di Desa Lae Parira, Dairi, Sumatera Utara. Desain dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yaitu daun nimba  sebagai kontrol, daun tembakau, daun ubi karet, buah mengkudu, daun pepaya, dan buah pinang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, keenam biopestisida berpengaruh signifikan terhadap persentase kematian keong mas dan persentase rumpun padi terserang. Nilai korelasi Pearson pada persentase kematian keong mas dan persentase tanaman padi yang terkena serangan menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat signifikan. Daun nimba adalah biopestisida terbaik dalam mengendalikan molusisida, diikuti oleh buah pinang, daun tembakau, daun ubi karet, buah mengkudu dan daun pepaya. Kematian 100% keong mas akan mencegah kerusakan rumpun tanaman padi sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dan menjaga ketahanan pangan, khususnya di Dairi, Sumatera Utara.ABSTRACTIn Indonesia, many plantation as use as beneficial plants. This study aims to obtain an effective formula that can be used as a biopesticide to control snail pests during the vegetative phase from May to July 2017 using random non-factorial methods at two rice planting locations in the Village Lae parira, Dairi, North Sumatra. Design with 6 treatments and 3 replicates (ie control, neem leaves (Azadirachta indica), tobacco leaf (Nicotiana tabacum), sweet potato leaf (Manihot glaziovii), noni fruit, Morinda citrifolia, and betel nut (Areca catechu) and papaya (Carica papaya) as an eco-friendly herbaceous and biopesticide. Based on the study recorded in sampling for 7 days with 6 treatments had significant effect on the percentage affected by the clump of rice attacked and the percentage of death. Pearson correlation value recorded percentage of death and percentage of impacted  showed a very significant relationship. Neem is the best biopesticide in controlling mollusicides, followed by betel nuts, tobacco, poisonous yams and noni. Death of 100% snail mas will prevent damage to the clump of rice plants Dairi, North Sumatra. All biopesticide treatments were tested to control snail pests in rice plants that will increase agicultural productivity in maintaining food security in Dairi, North Sumatra.

Abstract

EMPOWERMENT OF FARMERS RESPONDING TO THE NEW NORMAL USING THE WORKING PROTOCOL IN THE LAND AND THE DISTRIBUTION PROCESS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS. Tanjung Morawa Village, located in Deli Serdang District, North Sumatra Province, has a development potential for agricultural land from food crops, horticulture and secondary crops and agro-ecotourism. The purpose of carrying out community service activities is to determine the potential of natural resources in the agricultural sector, especially “rice field tourism” as agro-ecotourism locations. Standard protocols and modules have not been made for farmers working on the land, at home, or during the distribution of agricultural products during the New Normal Period. For example, farmers rarely use masks, smoke, do not distance between farmers, or do not use gloves when spraying pests on the land. This service was held on 3 August 2020 which attended by 12 rice farmers in Tanjung Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency, North of Sumatera, with the socialization method for Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) Farmer Protocol in New Normal. This was followed by training on integrated pest control for rice plants using Yellow Sticky Traps, Sweep Net and vegetable pesticides. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate and socialize Protocols and Modules for Farmers to work on the land, interaction at home with family members and when buying and selling in the market, or distribution of agricultural products to support national of food security.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDusun Soporaru merupakan salah satu dusun di Sumatera Utara yang memiliki beras spesifik lokal yaitu beras Natabo, yang merupakan beras super lokal milik petani sekitar dan sudah resmi dipasarkan. Namun, hingga saat ini infrastruktur bidang pertanian yang mendukung masih kurang memadai, seperti kebiasaan masyarakat dalam menggunakan bahan kimia untuk mengendalikan hama penyakit tanaman serta jumlah alat mesin pertanian untuk pengolahan padi yang masih belum tercukupi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membuat petani di desa mitra mengetahui potensi sumber daya alam bidang pertanian yang ada, khususnya padi beras merah, menerapkan konsep pengendalian hama terpadu dan bimbingan teknis pascapanen padi menggunakan mesin huller agar petani dapat mengolah hasil panen secara mandiri dan tepat guna sehingga kualitas dan kuantitas beras merah dari desa mitra meningkat. Pada kegiatan ini, dilakukan sosialisasi dan focus group discussion (FGD) dengan petani desa mitra untuk membahas masalah yang ada di lapangan selama ini, selanjutnya petani dibimbing untuk melakukan pengendalian hama padi tanpa bahan kimia yaitu dengan menggunakan alat perangkap jaring (sweep net) dan bimbingan teknis penggunaan mesin huller untuk tahap pascapanen padi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat baik pada saat sosialisasi, diskusi maupun bimbingan teknis di lapangan telah terlaksana dengan baik dan mendapat respon positif dari petani di desa mitra Kata Kunci : Padi beras merah; pengendalian hama terpadu; pascapanen padi. ABSTRACT Soporaru Hamlet is a hamlet in North Sumatra that has local specific rice, namely Natabo rice, which is super local rice owned by local farmers and has been officially marketed. However, until now the supporting of agricultural infrastructure is still inadequate, the habit of using chemicals to control plant pests and the insufficient number of agricultural machinery for rice processing. This activity aimed to make the farmers in partner village know the potential of natural resources in agriculture in their village, especially the brown rice, to apply the concept of integrated pest control and post-harvest rice technical guidance using a huller machine so that farmers can process their crops independently and efficiently, so that the quality and quantity of brown rice from partner villages has increased. In this activity, socialization and focus group discussions (FGD) were carried out with partner village farmers to discuss problems in the field so far, then the farmers were guided to control rice pests without chemicals, namely by using sweep net tools and technical guidance using a huller machine for the post-harvest stage of rice. This community service activity that was consisted of socialization, discussion and technical guidance was conducted well and received a positive response from the farmers in the partner village. Keywords: Brown rice; integrated pest control; post-harvest of rice.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the level of motivation of farmers regarding the function of gruptani and the factors that influence the motivation of farmers in farmer groups. The research was conducted by the Treasurer of Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province and was conducted in April 2021. Data collection method with interviews, observations and questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability, with data analysis methods using Likert scale and Multiple Linear Regression Test. The results showed the motivation level of rice paddy farmers regarding the function of gruptani is very high with a percentage of 84%. The Variables of Age, income, education and land area were variables that had significant effect on motivation of groupfarmer membera on ricefield. Meanwhile, knowledge variables had no partial significant effect in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the level of adoption of farmers in the use of two-wheeled tractors in lowland rice cultivation in Gomo sub-district, South Nias district (2) to analyze what factors influence the level of farmer adoption in the use of two-wheeled tractors in Gomo sub-district. South Nias Regency in March to May 2021. This assessment method uses a quantitative approach to determine the level of farmer adoption in the use of two-wheel tractors in the cultivation of lowland rice using the Liker model scoring technique, and to analyze what factors influence the level of adoption of farmers in the use of two-wheeled tractors in the cultivation of rice fields using multiple linear analysis models. The results of this study are the adoption of farmers in the use of two-wheel tractors in the cultivation of lowland rice fields is classified as very high (82.94%). The factors that significantly influence the adoption of farmers in the use of two-wheeled tractors in rice field cultivation in Gomo District, South Nias Regency are income, nature of innovation, role of group leader, role of extension workers, and factors that have no effect, age, cosmopolitan , and land area.

Abstract

Produktivitas tanaman padi dipengaruhi oleh Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui indeks kerapatan mutlak,kerapatan relatif,frekuensi mutlak dan frekuensi relatif serangga pada tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.) fase vegetatif dan fase generatif di Percut,Sumatera Utara.Penelitian menggunakan 3 alat,yaitu jaring serangga,perangkap kuning dan perangkap tanah sebanyak 6 kali pada fase vegetatif dan generatif.Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada fase vegetatif nilai Kerapatan Mutlak tertinggi terdapat pada genus : Agriocnemis (284),yang memiliki Kerapatan Relatif : 23,39 %,Frekuensi Mutlak : 6 dan Frekuensi Relatif: 4,20%.Sedangkan nilai Kerapatan Mutlak terendah terdapat pada genus: Discladispa,Riptortus,Chilo,Nymphula,Musca, Thomisius,dan Tachnidae (1),yang memiliki Kerapatan Relatif:  0,08%,Frekuensi Mutlak : 1 dan Frekuensi Relatif 0,70%.  Pada fase generatif nilai kerapatan mutlak tertinggi terdapat pada genus : Leptocorisa (263),yang memiliki Kerapatan Relatif : 19,69 %,Frekuensi Mutlak : 6 dan Frekuensi Relatif: 4,08%.Sedangkan nilai Kerapatan Mutlak terendah terdapat pada genus: Leptispa,Apis, Trichoma,Eucyrtus,dan Conocephalus (1),yang memiliki  Kerapatan Relatif : 0,07%,Frekuensi Mutlak : 1 dan Frekuensi Relatif: 0,68%. Abstract

Terung (Solanum melongena) merupakan tanaman sayur-sayuran dari famili Solanaceae yang dapat ditemukan tumbuh di daerah tropik maupun subtropik. P. marginatus merupakan hama polipag yang menyerang tanaman terung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari beberapa aspek biologi kutu putih (P. marginatus) pada tanaman terung. Penelitian biologi serangga kutu putih (Paracoccus marginatus) dilaksanakan di rumah kaca dan laboratorium Hama Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: telur menetas setelah 6-8 (7.2±0.78) hari, nimfa instar pertama 5-7 (5.6±0.69) hari, nimfa instar kedua jantan 5-6 (5.4±0.51) hari, nimfa instar kedua betina 4-5 (4.4±0.51) hari, nimfa instar ketiga jantan 3-4 (3.5±0.52) hari, nimfa instar ketiga betina 4-5 (4.5±0.52) hari dan pupa jantan 4-7 (4.7±0.94) hari. Siklus hidup P. marginatus berkisar antara 31-37 (33,5 ± 5,18) hari. Umur imago betina 14-16 (14.7±0.67) dan imago jantan 3-5 (4.2±0.78) hari. Imago betina selama hidupnya dapat menghasilkan 1-2 ovisak dengan presentase telur yang menetas 89.08%. Perbandingan nisbah kelamin P. marginatus jantan : betina adalah 1 : 2.67.

Abstract

Negara yang termasuk pengekspor kopi terbesar di dunia adalah Brazil, Vietnam, Kolombia dan Indonesia. Kopi spesialti Indonesia yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi salah satunya adalah Kopi Arabica Aceh Tengah (Ateng). Kualitas kopi dipengaruhi oleh varietas kopi, pengendalian hama terpadu kopi, lokasi budidaya kopi, pemanenan kopi serta pengolahan pasca panen kopi. Petani kopi di daerah mitra di Desa Telagah, Kecamatan Sei Bingei, Kabupaten Langkat teridentifikasi memiliki pengetahuan rendah, keterampilan sederhana, modal terbatas dalam budidaya dan pengelolaan kopi masih tradisional. Oleh sebab itu, sangat penting dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian Desa Binaan (PDB) LPPM USU bekerjasama dengan Fakultas Kedokteran USU untuk menganalisis permasalahan dan strategi pengembangan dan konservasi kopi, minuman penikmat rasa yang trendi masa kini. Kelompok petani kopi ‘Telagah’, satu alternatif pemecahan masalah dengan ‘pengolahan kopi tepat guna’, edukasi budidaya dan pengelolaan kopi diharapkan dapat mendukung ekonomi kreatif berkonsepkan ekosistem berkelanjutan, mengenalkan kepada masyarakat budidaya kopi sebagai wahana edukasi dan produksi yang meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani kopi. Kegiatan pengabdian meliputi pelatihan, bimbingan teknis, dan pendampingan yang akan diintroduksi kepada mitra dalam bentuk induksi dan adopsi pengetahuan tentang pengendalian hama terpadu kopi secara kimiawi, pengelolaan limbah kopi dan mekanisme pengupasan kulit kopi mekanik. Teknologi yang akan diterapkan adalah pemanfaatan mikroorganisme untuk mengelola biji kopi menjadi pakan ternak serta memberi bantuan alat pengupas biji kopi (pulper pulp) kepada mitra. Program PDB Kopi Telagah diharapkan bersinergi antara akademisi, masyarakat, pemerintah dan stakeholder untuk mencapai tujuan mewujudkan Desa Telagah sebagai model harmoni masyarakat akan meningkatkan kualitas, keseragaman dan kuantitas kopi yang dapat membantu meningkatkan produktivitas dan profit petani kopi di Desa Telagah, Sei Bingei, Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

The research aims to a mapping of nutrient status available phosphate and total phosphate in the Aek Simare Irrigation Area Laguboti District Toba Samosir Regency. This research was conducted at the Testing Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Research Center in North Sumatera Province. Which began in Mey to June 2019. The method used is the Free Grid Survey detailed level survey and analysis of nutrient data available phosphate by Bray I method, total phosphate by acid destruction method, and then interpret to the map nutrient status. The result of research showing that status available phosphate classified by 3 statuses such as medium (3,99 ha), high (44,26 ha), and very high (71,75 ha). Total phosphate classified in 4 nutrient status such as low (0,004 ha), medium (67,37 ha), high (45,316 ha) and very high (7,31 ha). Abstract

The implementation of community service activities carried out by the KKN R-16 group was carried out on July 14, 2021 in Mabar Village, Medan Deli by planting three varieties of trees, namely guava (Syzygium aqueum), mango (Mangifera indica) and rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum). 36 plants along the green line of Mabar Village. The method of implementing KKN is carried out offline or offline, namely socialization, training and tree planting and distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents. Data from the calculated questionnaire showed that 24 respondents strongly agreed to plant trees in Mabar Village. In the implementation of the activities carried out, the people of Mabar Village enthusiastically welcomed and supported the KKN activities of planting trees as the lungs of the city. It is hoped that this plant in the future can become a source of oxygen and reduce flooding in the rainy season.
