Abstract

This This study aims to determine the best dose of KCl Fertilizer and Liquid Organic Fertilizer of coconut coir on the growth of sweet corn (zea mays saccaharata Sturt) in peat soils. This study used a non factorial randomized block design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments used were 100 kg KCl fertilizer, POC Coconut Fiber 30 ml / liter, 100 kg KCl + POC coconut coir fertilizer, 75 kg KCl + POC coconut coir fertilizer, 50 kg KCl + POC coconut coir fertilizer, 25 kg KCl + POC fertilizer coconut fiber. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves / plants, leaf area index, stem diameter, emergence, male and female flowers, observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with HSD tukey test at 5% confidence level. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, all treatments did not show a real effect on all parameters. Provision of coconut milk POC 30 ml / water gives the best results on the growth of sweet corn. Keywords: KCl fertilizer, liquid organic fertilizer, sweet corn

Abstract

umatera Barat merupakan provinsi penghasil kopi di Indonesia. Luas areal perkebunan kopi pada tahun 2016 sampai 2018 yakni 38.365 Ha; 33.276 Ha; dan 34.024 ha dengan produksi 22.721 ton; 17.553 ton; dan 18.026 ton. Buah kopi harus ditangani secara cepat menjadi bentuk yang lebih stabil agar aman untuk disimpan dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Kriteria mutu biji yang meliputi aspek fisik, cita rasa dan kebersihan serta aspek keseragaman dan konsistensi sangat ditentukan oleh perlakuan pada setiap tahapan proses produksinya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Fakulltas Pertanian Universitas Andalas dari bulan Agustus 2020. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini digunakan bahan antara lain benih kopi robusta yang diambil di daerah solok, Alat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah meteran, botol-botol plastik, pisau, timbangan analitik, beaker glass, gunting, karung goni, ember, kamera, sarung tangan, masker dan alat tulis. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif yakni mengambil beberapa sampel buah tanaman kopi robusta dan mengamati perubahan fisik dari buah yang diambil secara random disuatu areal perkebunan kopi robusta. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan terkait dengan kondisi penyimpanan buah kopi selama sebulan didapatkan perubahannya yakni, waktu setelah dipanen didapatkan kondisi buah kopi merah terang, kulit segar mulus dan lunak, lalu disimpan selama 7 hari didapatkan kondisi merah gelap kulit sedikit keriput, disimpan selama 14 hari dengan kondisi merah gelap dan kulit keriput jelas, disimpan selama 21 hari didapat warna hitam kecoklatan, kulit kaku dan keras dan setelah disimpan selama 30 hari didapat warna kulit buah kopi hitam, kulit kaku dan keras. Kata Kunci: Respirasi, Kulit Buah, Warna Buah

Abstract

Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is a medicinal plant. Rosela has a chemical compound that can provide many benefits. Efficacy of rosella to prevent disease, treat disorders of various diseases with gossiptin anthocyanin content and gluciside hibiscin contained in it. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of College of Agricultural Sciences of Labuhan Batu University Foundation, North Sumatera Province. This research was started in March 2017. This research used Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with the harvesting period (P) P0: Control, P1: 1, Clock P2: 2 Hours, P3: 3 Hours P4: 4 Hours P5: 5 Hours P6: 6 Hours P: 7 Hours. The highest rate of germination was found in P7 treatment of 3.22 days. The highest normal germination percentage was found in P5 and P7 treatment of 66.67%. Than highest abnormal germination percentege was found in P3, P4 and P6 treatment of 33.33 %. Keywords : Rosela, Old Immersion

Abstract

West Sumatra is one producing coffee area in Indonesia a significant contribution to economy in Indonesian, because production coffee in West Sumatra unstable, it is necessary to expand the area. The propagation plants coffee is carried out in generative manner and needs be optimized with treating gibberellin hormone and water temperature to germination stage of coffee seeds.This research was conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University from May to August 2021. The parameters observed were initial seed weight (g), seed weight after treatment (g), initial seed moisture content (%), seed moisture content after treatment (%). The results showed that the observation of initial seed weight and initial seed moisture content showed no significant effect. While the data had a significant effect on the observation of seed weight after treatment with the concentration of gibberellin hormone and seed moisture content after treatment in the treatment of water types, where the observation of seed weight after the highest treatment was in the treatment of gibberellin hormone concentration of 400 ppm with aquadest (G4J1) of 4.23 g and on the observation of the water content of the seeds after the highest treatment, namely the treatment with the concentration of the hormone gibberellin 300 ppm with aquadest (G3J1), which is 46.32%. Key words: Seed Weight, Moisture Content, Aquadest

Abstract

Benih kakao termasuk benih rekalsitran yang memiliki beberapa kendala seperti kadar air yang tinggi, tidak tahan desikasi dan suhu rendah, serta mudah terserang jamur sehingga menyebabkan benih tidak dapat disimpan dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Pada kondisi kadar air benih yang tinggi, perombakan cadangan makanan terjadi pada benih melalui proses respirasi benih juga tinggi yang menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan mutu benih akibatnya viabilitas dan vigor benih juga menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelapisan benih kakao dengan gel lidah buaya terhadap viabilitas dan vigor benih, dan mendapatkan konsentrasi gel lidah buaya yang mampu mempertahankan vigor dan viabilitas benih kakao selama penyimpanan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret hingga Mei 2019 di Laboratorium Kampus III Universitas Andalas, Dharmasraya. Penelitian ini disusuan dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan beberapa konsentrasi gel lidah buaya yakni 0%, 25%, 50%, dan 75%. Setiap perlakuan tersebut diulang sebanyak 3 ulangan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan diketahui bahwa pelapisan benih dengan gel lidah buaya tidak berpengaruh terhadap viabilitas dan vigor benih kakao.

Abstract

The propagation plants coffee is carried out in generative manner and needs be optimized with treating gibberellin hormone and water temperature to germination stage of coffee seeds.The research conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory Faculty Agiculture, Andalas University from May to August 2021. Measurement parameters were germination rate (days), normal germination (%), abnormal germination (%) and dead seeds (%). The results showed that germination rate (days), normal germination (%) and abnormal germination (%) showed a significant effect. While the data had no significant effect on the observation of dead seeds (%) in the treatment of gibberellin hormone concentration and treatment of water types, which in the observation of normal sprouts was the highest, namely in the treatment of 400 ppm gibberellin hormone concentration with coconut water (G4J3) of 86.67% and on seed observation. The highest death rate was treatment gibberellin hormone 200 ppm with mineral water temperature 60°C (G1J2) which was 33.33%. Giberelin and mineral water can affect coffee germination.

Abstract

Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of the plantation crop that has high economic value. Therefore it is important to carry out cacao cultivation as recommended. The objective of this study was to collect data on the cultivation characteristics on smallholder cacao plantations where located in Panti Sub-district, Pasaman District. This research was conducted from August until November 2021 in Panti Sub district, Pasaman District the present research was carried out using a survey method by purposive sampling, with the criteria that cacao crops have produced and the sample includes 10% of the smallholder cacao crops area in Panti Sub-district, pasaman District. The aspects that are included in the characteristics of cacao cultivation are in terms of land preparation, crop maintenance, the techniques for pest and disease control, as well as aspects of harvest and yield. The results showed that 80% of cacao farmers in Panti Sub-district had carried out cacao cultivation according to Puslitkoka standards, but its 20% have not carried out cacao cultivation according to the recommendations, including the aspects of land preparation, crops maintenance, and harvestthat were not appropriate the origin of planting material was unclear, unknown of the clone types, pest and disease attacks are still high and sanitation activitie. Are irregular.

Abstract

Dharmasraya merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Sumatera Barat yang potensial untuk pengembangan komoditi kopi, sejak mulai dikembangkan tahun 2002 produksi kopi di Kabupaten Dharmasaraya menurun. Hal ini disebabkan budidaya kopi yang dilakukan selama ini tidak intensif. Rendahnya perhatian petani selama budidaya kopi juga dipicu pertumbuhan kopi yang ditanam tidak optimal. Bibit yang baik merupakan modal keberhasilan pertumbuhan tanaman di lapangan karena mampu berproduksi secara optimal. Perbanyakan tanaman kopi dapat dilakukan secara generatif dan vegetatif. Perbanyakan secara generatif menggunakan biji. Kendala dalam perbanyakan kopi secara generatif adalah biji kopi memerlukan waktu cukup lama untuk berkecambah.. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Andalas Kampus 3 Dharmasraya dari bulan Juli sampai dengan September 2022. Parameter yang diamati adalah bobot benih awal (g), bobot benih setelah perlakuan (g), kadar air benih awal (%), kadar air benih setelah perlakuan (%). Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pengamatan bobot benih awal, kadar air benih awal menunjukkan tidak berpengaruh nyata. Sedangkan data berpengaruh nyata terdapat pada pengamatan bobot benih setelah perlakuan pada perlakuan konsentrasi hormon giberelin dan kadar air benih setelah perlakuan pada perlakuan hormon giberelin dan lama perlakuan yang mana pada pengamatan bobot benih setelah perlakuan tertinggi yakni pada perlakuan konsentrasi hormon giberelin 300 ppm dengan lama perendaman 24 jam (G3L3) sebesar 4.28 g dan pada pengamatan kadar air benih setelah perlakuan tertinggi yakni pada perlakuan konsentrasi hormon giberelin 300 ppm dengan lama perlakuan (G3L3) yakni 50.54 %.Kata Kunci: Kopi Robusta, Air, Waktu

Abstract

Exploration and characterization of germplasm is an important stage in plant breeding activities. The present research was about exploration and morphological characterization of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) in smallholder plantations in Koto Salak Sub-district, Dharmasraya Distric. It was carried out on July until October 2021. The objectives of this study were to characterize the morphology of cacao crops in Koto Salak Sub-district, Dharmasraya District and to determine the diversity level of cacao crops in that area. This research was by a survey method, with purposive sampling. The technique for data collection was by observe the morphology of the plants in each sample. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively, and for the similarity analysis, statistical calculation was by the NTSYS Ver 2.02 program. The research results obtained 4 variants of cacao plants which collected from 5 villages namely Padukuan, Pulau Mainan, Simalidu, Koto Salak, and Ampalu. Researcher obtained 30 samples of cacao plants which characterized by 16 characters, characters were wide variability and 14 other characters narrow variability with the level of diversity ranging from 39-77%.

Abstract

Abstract. Nagari Sungai Talang is one of the villages in Payakumbuh District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency which seeks to cultivate ginger plants. Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) is a spice plant native to Indonesia. Ginger has long been cultivated and consumed by the community. The part of the ginger plant that is consumed is the rhizome. One of the problems in ginger cultivation in Indonesia is the low productivity and quality of ginger. Ginger seeds in the form of rhizomes must be processed and stored as well as possible so that their quality can be maintained longer by inhibiting the rate of seedling decline. The purpose of this service activity is to invite farmers, especially the Innovation farmer group in order to sort ginger seeds with government assistance (selection of good and healthy ginger seeds) so that the production of ginger plants can increase even better than the previous cultivation. The method of implementing this service is Community Education. Community education in this activity by carrying out socialization and counseling aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding of the community, especially ginger farmers about good and healthy ginger to be used as seeds for the implementation of further cultivation in the field. The results obtained from this empowerment activity are that the farmer group understands the type of rhizome that is chosen to be used as the next seed. The selection of the type of rhizome can be seen from the number of good buds, uniform shoot height, age of rhizome, and appearance of ginger rhizome. Abstrak. Nagari Sungai Talang merupakan salah satu nagari di Kecamatan Payakumbuh, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota yang mengupayakan budidaya tanaman jahe. Jahe (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) merupakan salah satu tanaman rempah asli Indonesia. Jahe sudah lama dibudidayakan dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Bagian tanaman jahe yang dikonsumsi adalah bagian rimpangnya. Salah satu permasalahan dalam budidaya jahe di Indonesia adalah masih rendahnya produktivitas dan mutu jahe. Bibit jahe berupa rimpang harus diproses dan disimpan sebaik mungkin agar mutunya dapat dipertahankan lebih lama dengan menghambat laju kemunduran bibit. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu untuk mengajak para petani khususnya kelompok tani Inovasi dalam rangka penyortiran bibit jahe bantuan pemerintah (pemilihan bibit jahe yang baik dan sehat) sehingga hasil produksi dari tanaman jahe dapat meningkat lebih baik lagi dari budidaya sebelumnya. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah Pendidikan Masyarakat. Pendidikan masyarakat dalam kegiatan ini dengan melaksanakan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan yang bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat khususnya petani jahe tentang jahe yang bagus dan sehat yang baik untuk dijadikan sebagai bibit untuk pelaksanaan budidaya selanjutnya dilapangan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pemberdayaan ini adalah kelompok tani memahami jenis rimpang yang dipilih untuk dijadikan bakal benih selanjutnya. Pemilihan jenis rimpang dapat dilihat dari jumlah bakal mata tunas yang baik, tinggi tunas yang seragam, umur rimpang, serta penampilan rimpang jahe.
