Abstract

Many social networking sites can be a place to share information and with interesting features but it also can become a means of getting a lot of friends to arrive to find a mate. Internet sites such as Twitteer, Friendster, Hi5, Myspace, YouTube, Blogger and many more. Facebook is a social networking website that is now increasing in popularity and the number of members increased sharply in a short time.The main task of the student is learning and studying, because adolescence is a time of transition that is eager to note, facebook is a website that can make teens more expressive highlight himself, his desire, and profile. Thus these students will continue to play facebook that disturbed his homework and make the time taken up by a lot by playing these sites.The concept of the theory that the researchers use a communication model Stimulus - Response. Abstract

Tourism is one of the new industries which are able to accelerate economic growth and employment, boosting incomes, living standards and to stimulate other productive sectors. This prompted the Department of Culture and Tourism Rokan Hulu to create the attraction Airpanas Hapanasan with the aim to increase the budget and make the area one of the leading tourist attraction in the province of Riau. In increasing the number of visitors needed an effective marketing strategy to create attraction. The aim of this study was to determine how the marketing strategy undertaken by the Department of Culture and Tourism Rokan Hulu in increasing tourist arrivals area and outside the region. In addition, this study also aims to mengetehaui factors supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of marketing strategies.This study used qualitative research methods. Subjects in this study consisted of seven people and data collection techniques are grouped into three sections, namely; in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. This study uses data analysis interactive model of Miles and Hubermen, using a technique that checks the validity of the data through the extension of participation and triangulation.Results of this study show that the marketing strategy of Culture and Tourism Rokan Hulu is decisive segmentation, perform targeting, promotion through print media and online media. Supporting factors in conducting marketing strategy is the attraction Airpanas Hapanasan an asset in the regions, the object of Hapanasan Airpanas tourists are also breeding butterflies, children's playground as well as outbound, and the location of Rokan Hulu directly adjacent to West Sumatra. Inhibiting factor is the lack of cooperation with a third party / private sector in managing attractions Airpanas Hapanasan the minimnnya intensity of promotion by local governments in promoting attractions Airpanas Hapanasan the professionalism, knowledge in promoting regional tourism is still minimal and competition attractions same become an obstacle to the government in promoting the tourist attraction.Jom

Abstract

The coaching program is one of the programs run by the State DetentionBranch Selatpanjang.. Instructor coaching program at Branch Selatpanjang usinginstructional communication in which there are several methods. One of theclasses in the coaching program at Rutan Selatpanjang branch is a handicraftclass that is able to utilize secondhand goods to be made into works such asminiature, souvenir and selling price. The community around even tourists areinterested to buy the craft. For now, the work of Batan Selatpanjang Branchresidents has come to areas such as Bengkalis, Dumai, Pekanbaru and evenabroad such as Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. The purpose of thisresearch is to know the method, the media as well as the instructor instructionalcommunication barrier in the craft class guidance program at the Branch ofSelatpanjang Prison.This research uses qualitative research method. The research wasconducted at the Branch of Detention House of State Selatpanjang of TanjungMayat Village, Tebing Tinggi, Meranti Island district, Riau Province. Selection ofinfroman done by purposive technique. Data collection techniques used duringconducting research is by way of observation, interview and documentation.While the validity of data that researchers use is to extend the participation,triangulation and reference adequacy.The results showed that instructional instruction method used byinstructor in handicraft class of Branch Selatpanjang is using command method,practice/practice method, and question and answer method. While theinstructional communication media used by the instructor in the form of visualmedia such as drawings and whiteboard and media aids. Meanwhile, the barrierof instructional communication that occurred in the handicraft class of BranchSelatpanjang is in the form of obstacles to the technical media as well as theobstacle coming from the psychological communicant.Keywords: instructional communication, Coaching program, State detentionbranch of selatpanjang

Abstract

Teachers are professional educators with the primary task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating learners in early childhood education, primary education, and secondary education. Professional is a work or activity undertaken by a person and becomes a source of income of his life that requires expertise, skill or skill that meets certain quality or norm standards and requires professional education. As a profession, thecompetence that must be possessed by a teacher, namely personality competence, pedagogic competence, professional competence, and social competence. Teachers have a strategic role in the field of education, even other adequate educational resources are often meaningless if not accompanied by adequate teacher quality. Likewise, the opposite happen, if the quality teacher is poorly supported by other supporting resources are adequate, can also cause less optimal performance. In other words, teachers are at theforefront of improving the quality of education services and outcomes. In many cases, the quality of the education system as a whole is related to the quality of teachers. To that end, improving the quality of education should be done through efforts to improve the quality of teachers character. The professionalism of a teacher must be framed in character education, because to educate the character of the learner can only be done by a teacher of character. Abstract

Speech community concept can be seen/shown through three approaches; Firstly, on the basis oftheir common language forms, secondly by rules that regulate those common language forms,and thirdly from the perspective of the common cultural concepts. Speech community is possiblycreated if certain group of individuals, for the reason of common territory, professions, hobbieshave exactly the same language and possess the common judgement on any linguistic norms. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President and knowed the persentage of morphological errors in English Speeches of American President. As for the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President, the kinds are free morpheme, bound morpheme, affixes (prefix, suffix, and compound). This research design used is qualitative research. Qualitative research among others are descriptive, the data collected more in the form of words or pictures rather than numbers, The researcher chose qualitative case study research in descriptive qualitative because the data of this study described seeing the actual reality in the form of spoken language, and analyzed and interpreted with the objective to then described in the form of words and language. Qualitative descriptive method is a method that researchers can use to analyze by doing fact-finding with the right interpretation. Qualitative research is closely associated with the context. The result of this research showed that are in English Speeches of American President still found error morphology even thought they are narrative speakers. They made afix, prefix, suffix errors. Besides that, some of the president also made errors in free morpheme, bound morpheme, and compound.The researcher was founded 16 errors totally. In the case it consist of 18,75% errors in free morpheme 56,25% errors in bound morpheme, 25% in affixes there are 12,50% error in prefix, 6,25% errors in suffix , and 6,25% error in compound. Meanwhile, the dominant error in English Speeches of American President is bound morpheme which reaches 56,25 % from 16 or 100%.

Abstract

This study was undertaken primarily to isolate and identify substances from resin of Shorea javanica K. et. V. that might be responsible to inhibit the termite activity of Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren. Approximately 500 gram of dried-resin was extracted with acetone solvent. The acetone extract was then fractionated into n-hexane, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate, and insoluble fraction (residue). The no-choice bioassay test was carried-out by treating paper discs with extracts at  the concentration of  2.0%, 4.0%, 6.0%, 8.0%, 10.0%, 12.0% (W/W), and 0.0 % as control. The bioassay test showed that n-hexane and diethyl ether soluble fraction exhibited highest antitermic properties at Lethal Concentration (LC)50 value of 1.62% and continuation fraction showed N3 of n-hexane fraction an EE1 of diethyl ether fraction exhibited highest toxicity at LC50 value of 1.23 % and 1.65%. Further investigation of the n-hexane soluble fraction by using CC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, and NMR led to the isolation and identification of the main compound, namely friedelin, while the diethyl ether soluble fraction contains vulgarol B; 3,4-Secodamar-4(28)-en-3-oic acid; (7R,10S)-2,6,10-Trimethyl-7, 10–epoxy-2,11-dodecadien; and junipene (decahydro-4,8,8-trimethyl-1,4-methanoazulene)

Abstract

Chemical constituents of the essential oil of water and steam distillates of surian heartwood (Toona sinensis) were analyzed by a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer. Then, the oil was investigated in vitro anticancer bioassay for its possible antioxidant activity by DPPH free radical scavenging and antiproliferative effects by MTT method using Raji lymphoma cancer cell lines (ATCC CCL 86), HeLa cervical cancer cell lines (ATCC CCL2), and Vero normal cell lines (ATCC CCL 81). The essential oil yield from water and steam distillates of surian heartwood was 0.4% (w/w). Thirty-two compounds were identified, that consisted mainly of oxygenated sesquiterpenes (77%). The most representative compounds were spathulenol (21%), isospathulenol (7%), α-cadinol (7%), β-cedrenoxide (6%), and torreyol (5%). The oil showed less effective antioxidant, but the oil had high antiproliferative effects on Raji and HeLa cancer cells with IC50 28 and 134 μg ml-1, respectively when compared to Vero normal cells (IC50 1412 μg ml-1). Our findings suggest that the essential oil of surian heartwood might be considered as a potentially anticancer agent on human cancer cells, especially lymphoma cancer cells.Key words: antioxidant activity, antiproliferative effects, cancer cell lines, essential oil, Toona sinensis

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to evaluate the extractive substances of heartwood of Kupa wood (Syzygium polycephalum (Mig)) and its potention as bio-active substance to wood destroying fungi i.e., Schizophyllum commune Fr and Pleurotus sp. Successive extraction method was used in this experiment. The heartwood part was then converted into 40 mesh wood flour and followed by extraction using methanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-hexane and buthanol solvents. The extractives obtained were subjected to wood destroying fungi S. commune and Pleurotus sp. The results indicated that the extractive content of S. polychephalum mostly dominated by substance diluted in chloroform (2.87%), followed by ethyl acetate (0.38%), n-hexane (0.33%) and buthanol (0.05%). All the wood extracts of S. polychephalum potentially contain anti-fungal compound to inhibit the growth of S. commune Fr and Pleurotus sp fungi. N-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts of S. polychephalum are the most active extracts. Isolation of ethyl acetate fraction resulted in nine (9) active compounds (G.1-G.9) that could inhibit the growth both S. commune and Pleurotus sp with IC(50) values 49.33-61.71 ppm and 48.84-64.61 ppm, respectively. It was found that G.2 compound of ethyl acetate has anti fungal substance namely 3-O-glucosyl-3’,4’ 5-trihydroxyflavonol.
