Abstract

One of the viable solutions to the fossil fuel energy crisis was to seek alternative sources of environmentally friendly energy with the same or better quality such as bioethanol. It was possible to produce bioethanol from organic waste, e.g., corncob. This research aimed to obtain the lowest exhaust emission levels of CO and CO2 generated from a gasoline motor that used a mixture of bioethanol containing 96 % corncob and RON 90 fuel. This research was experimental using Anova statistical data analysis method. The results showed that the lowest average of CO emissions was 0.177 vol% using E100 fuel, and the highest average was 2.649 vol% using 100 % RON 90 fuel, displaying a significant difference. The lowest average of CO2 emissions was 6.6 vol% using E100 fuel, and the highest was 7.51 vol% using 100 % RON 90 fuel, which was insignificantly different. The mixture variation with the lowest CO and CO2 emissions was E100.

Abstract

Abstrak: Bidang pariwisata di Indonesia kini menjadi salah satu andalan pemeritah untuk menghasilkan devisa negara. Melimpahnya kekayaan alam yang dimiliki membuat setiap daerah di Jawa Timur mulai berkembang pesat dan menunjukan keunggulannya di tiap-tiap sektor. Terutama banyaknya potensi wisata alam yang ada di Kabupaten Malang Jawa Timur yang kini sudah mulai menampakkan eksistensinya hingga mampu menarik wisatawan nasional maupun internasional. Tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengembangkan teknologi Self Balancing Smart Scooter sebagai wahana wisata sehat untuk menambah daya tarik pengunjung witasawan.  Teknologi Self Balancing Smart Scooter merupakan sebuah skuter roda dua bertenaga baterai. Kegiatan ini bertempat di Jl. Raya Selokerto, Godehan, Selorejo, Kec. Dau, Malang, Jawa Timur. Peserta berjumlah 25 orang dari mitra, masyarakat Desa Selorejo, dan Karangtaruna yang dilakukan selama tiga bulan. Hasil kegiatan meliputi: 1) perancangan desain, pembangunan, uji coba, hingga pembuatan sirkuit teknologi self balancing smart scooter, pelatihan perawatan teknologi self balancing smart scooter, serta evaluasi pasca kegiatan; 2) sirkuit teknologi Self Balancing Smart Scooter yang telah dibangun mampu meningkatkan pemasukan daerah; dan 3) sirkuit teknologi Self Balancing Smart Scooter yang telah dibangun mampu meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan.Abstract: The tourism sector in Indonesia has now become one of the mainstays of the government to generate foreign exchange. The abundance of natural resources owned has made every region in East Java begin to develop rapidly and show its superiority in each sector. Especially the large number of natural tourism potentials in Malang Regency, East Java, which are now starting to show their existence so that they are able to attract national and international tourists. The purpose of this Community Service is to develop Self Balancing Smart Scooter technology as a vehicle for healthy tourism to increase the attractiveness of female visitors. Self Balancing Smart Scooter Technology is a battery powered two-wheeled scooter. This activity takes place at Jl. Raya Selokerto, Godehan, Selorejo, Kec. Dau, Malang, East Java. Participants totaled 25 people from partners, the people of Selorejo Village, and Karangtaruna which carried out for three months. Abstract

Pendidikan lingkungan adalah suatu proses yang bertujuan  membentuk  perilaku, nilai,  dan  kebiasaan  untuk  menghargai  lingkungan hidup. Salah satu  strategi dalam  pendidikan  ini diaplikasikan  dalam  program Adiwiyata di lingkungan  sekolah. Untuk meningkatkan produksi pupuk kompos berbahan sampah yang ada di lingkungan sekolah mitra perlu mengimplementasikan mesin pengolah sampah untuk kompos. Peningkatan produksi kompos akan mengurangi jumlah sampah organic yang ada di sekolah tersebut, selain itu juga dapat melatih siswa mengembangkan sikap kepedulian terhadap lingkungan tempat tinggalnya, serta menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha siswa. Permasalahan prioritas mitra adalah: (1) diperlukan upaya untuk mengatasi kesulitan pengolahan limbah lingkungan berupa daun, ranting dan limbah lainnya menjadi produk kompos; dan (2) diperlukan diseminasi teknologi tepat guna (TTG) mesin pengolah sampah untuk kompos dengan cara memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang cara pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk proses produksi kompos di lingkungan sekolah Darul Ulum Agung Kota Malang. Untuk itu telah dilakukan: (1) mewujudkan satu unit TTG mesin pengolah sampah untuk kompos dengan spesifikasi kapasitas 300 sd 350 kg/jam, dengan daya 3 HP (2200 watt) yang dapat membantu mengatasi pengelolaan limbah lingkungan berupa daun, ranting dan limbah lainya; (2) transfer teknologi (transfer of technology) dan pengetahuan (transfer of knowledge) khususnya tentang pembuatan, pengoperasian, dan perawatan mesin pengolah sampah untuk kompos di di lingkungan sekolah Darul Ulum Agung Malang; dan (3)ada peningkatan sebanyak 30% pada proses produksi kompos dari bahan sampah organik.Kata Kunci— kompos, pengolahan sampah, teknologi tepat guna AbstractEnvironmental education is a process that aims to shape behavior, values and habits to respect the environment. One of the strategies in education is applied in the Adiwiyata program in the school environment. To increase the production of compost made from waste in partner schools, it is necessary to implement a waste processing machine for compost. The increase in compost production will reduce the amount of organic waste in the school, besides that it can also train students to develop a caring attitude towards the environment in which they live, and foster students' entrepreneurial spirit. The priority problems of partners are: (1) efforts are needed to overcome difficulties in treating environmental waste in the form of leaves, twigs and other waste into compost products; and (2) required dissemination of appropriate technology (TTG) for compost processing machines by providing knowledge and skills on how to operate and maintain machines that can be used for compost production processes in the Darul Ulum Agung school of Malang City. For that purpose, it has been carried out: (1) creating one unit of TTG compost processing machine with a capacity specification of 300 to 350 kg / hour, with a power of 3 HP (2200 watts) which can help overcome environmental waste management in the form of leaves, twigs and other wastes; (2) technology transfer (transfer of technology) and knowledge (transfer of knowledge) especially regarding the manufacture, operation and maintenance of waste processing machines for compost in the school environment of Darul Ulum Agung Malang; and (3) there is an increase of 30% in the compost production process from organic waste.Keywords— compost, waste processing, appropriate technology

Abstract

Proses yang dilakukan dalam pengolahan kacang mentah hingga menjadi camilan membutuhkan proses yang cukup lama, khususnya dalam pemisahan biji dengan kulit ari kacang tanah yang masih tercampur setelah proses pengupasan kulit ari kacang yang selama ini masih menggunakan cara manual atau dipilah satu persatu menggunakan tangan. Untuk memenuhi produktifitas yang tinggi dan untuk membantu mitra industri olahan kacang bagi UKM Kota Probolinggo sekaligus mendukung usaha mitra, perlu diimplementasikan teknologi tepat guna berupa mesin pemisah kulit ari kacang. Tujuan dalam implementasi ini yaitu mengatasi kesulitan proses pengolahan kacang pada proses pemisahan kulit ari kacang yang selama ini dilakukan dengan cara manual yang kapasitas produksinya masih rendah dan mendifusikan mesin pemisah kulit ari kacang dengan cara memberikan pengetahuan serta keterampilan tentang cara pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin pemisah kulit ari kacang. Berdasarkan implementasi yang telah dilakukan, peningkatan produksi dapat diaktualisasi mampu meningkat hingga 30%, sehingga implementasi mesin pemisah kulit ari kacang dapat memberikan sumbangsih yang relatif besar untuk meningkatkan produktifitas, kualitas dan omzet bagi para pelaku UKM Kota Probolinggo. Kata kunci— Pemisah Kulit Ari Kacang, Pengabdian Masyarakat, Teknologi Tepat Guna  Abstract The process carried out in processing peanuts into snacks requires a long process, especially in separating the seeds from the peanut shells that are still mixed after the process of peeling the skin from the peanuts, which so far are still using the manual method or sorting one by one by hand. To meet high productivity and to help partners in the peanut processing industry for SMEs in Probolinggo City as well as to support partner businesses, it is necessary to implement appropriate technology in the form of a peanut husk separator. The purpose of this implementation is to overcome the difficulties of processing peanuts in the process of separating the skin of the peanut which has been done manually with the production capacity still and to diffuse the machine that separates the skin of the peanut by means of knowledge and skills on how to operate and maintain the machine that separates the peanut husk. Based on the implementation that has been done, the increase in production can be actualized up to 30%, so that the implementation of the peanut husk separator machine can make a relatively large contribution to increasing productivity, quality, and turnover for SMEs in Probolinggo. Keywords— The Peanut Husk Separator Machine, Community Dedication, Appropriate Technology

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the perception of teachers towards the integration of ICT in learning; experience and ability to use computers in learning; availability of ICT facilities; and ICT training of teachers who have been followed. This research uses descriptive research design. Samples were taken for 166 vocational high school teachers, 53 adaptiveteachers, 38 normative teachers, and 75 productive teachers with proportionate stratified random sampling. The data collected questionnaire data, documentation studies, and interviews. The results showed that the perception of teachers towards the integration of ICT in learning included in the criteria is very high (85.51%). The ability and experience of teachers to use the computers included in the criteria is high (77.22%) and the availability of ICT facilities included in the criteria is high (75.35%). Teachers respond positively to the development of technology, basic knowledge of ICT, and has been using ICT to help the learning process. Other research results show that the intensity of training teachers in ICT included in the criteria is poor (58.5%). This type of training which have been followed by teachers, among others: a) basic computer use, b) innovative ICT-based learning, c) making the media presentation, d) the Internet, e) a word processor/script, and f) processing a number. Low intensity training taken by teachers due to the delivery of ICT training programs in schools have not been going well, so that teachers rarely get training and mentoring, especially from fellow teachers.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi guru terhadap integrasi TIK dalam pembelajaran; pengalaman dan kemampuan menggunakan komputer dalam pembelajaran; ketersediaan fasilitas TIK; pelatihan TIK yang pernah diikuti guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif. Sampel diambil sebesar 166 guru SMK, dengan rincian 53 guru adaptif, 38 guru normatif, dan 75 guru produktif dengan proportionate stratified random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kuesioner, studi dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi guru terhadap integrasi TIK dalam pembelajaran masuk dalam kriteria sangat tinggi (85,51%). Kemampuan dan pengalaman guru untuk memanfaatkan komputer masuk dalam kategori baik (77,22%) dan ketersedian fasilitas TIK masuk dalam kategori baik (75,35%). Guru merespon positif terhadap perkembangan teknologi, memiliki pengetahuan dasar TIK, dan telah memanfaatkan TIK untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian lainnya menunjukkan bahwa intensitas guru dalam mengikuti pelatihan TIK masuk dalam kategori kurang baik (58,5%). Jenis pelatihan yang pernah diikuti oleh guru, antara lain (a) penggunaan komputer dasar, (b) inovasi pembelajaran berbasis TIK, (c) pembuatan media presentasi, (d) internet, (e) pengolah kata/naskah, dan (f) pengolah angka. Rendahnya intensitas pelatihan yang diikuti guru dikarenakan program penyelenggaran pelatihan TIK di sekolah belum berjalan dengan baik, sehingga guru jarang mengikuti pelatihan dan kurang mendapatkan pendampingan, terutama dari rekan sesama guru.

Abstract

The major factors determining the quality of sand casting products are the base sand and the composition of the sand mould and the binding material. In the foundry industry, the most commonly used binder for creating sand moulds is bentonite. However, the price of bentonite is likely to keep rising. This study aimed at discovering a new binder formula associated with the effect of binder composition i.e. bentonite, tapioca flour, and sago flour on the basis of its mechanical and physical properties. The new formula was expected to be a better binder in the production of sand moulds, resulting in high-quality casting products with minimal defects. Moreover, it is probable to be much more economical than bentonite. This research focused on testing the moulding sand composition with a number of different binders, i.e. bentonite, tapioca flour, and sago flour, each in a different proportion. The mixture of the moulding sand with each of the three binders will be tested in terms of its mechanical properties including compressive, shear, and tensile strength. Based on the test results, sago flour has the highest dry compressive strength of 28.6 N/cm2, whereas bentonite has the highest wet compressive strength, i.e. 11.83 N/cm2 and the highest wet shear strength i.e. 3.16 N/cm2. The binder with the highest dry shear strength is tapioca flour with 18.16 N/cm2. Regarding the tensile strength value, bentonite has the highest wet tensile strength of 0.85 N/cm2, while sago flour has the highest dry tensile strength of 1.73 N/cm2.

Abstract

Energi angin menjadi salah satu energi terbarukan yang tidak terdegradasi, dan tersebar secara geografis. Pemanfaatan energi angin juga di dukung dengan ditargetkannya bauran energi 23% berasal dari EBT pada 2025 mendatang. Kementrian ESDM (Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral) RI juga mengatakan bahwa potensi angin di Indonesia sangat tinggi mencapai 978 MW yang tersebar di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Lokasi Pengabdian Masyarakat yaitu Wisata Dilem Wilis Trenggalek memiliki potensi energi angin yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan listrik, sehingga perlu diimplementasikan turbin angin tipe helix untuk mendukung ketersediaan energi listrik. Adapaun hasil dari pengabdian ini antara lain: terwujudnya satu unit turbin angin tipe helix sebegai alternatif energi yang bersih dan terbarukan yang dapat menghasilkan listrik sekitar 300 watt; terjadinya transfer teknologi dan pengetahuan khususnya tentang implementasi dan perawatan turbin angin tipe helix. Turbin ini dapat beroperasi dan mulai melakukan pengisian pada kecepatan angin sekitar 3m/detik. Kata kunci— Turbin Angin, Energi Terbarukan Abstract  Wind energy is one of the renewable energies that is not degraded, and is geographically dispersed. The use of wind energy is also supported by the target of 23% of the energy mix coming from NRE in 2025. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Energy and Mineral Resources) of the Republic of Indonesia also said that the wind potential in Indonesia is very high, reaching 978 MW spread across various regions in Indonesia. The location of the Community Service, namely Dilem Wilis Trenggalek, has the potential for wind energy that can be used to generate electricity, so it is necessary to implement a helix type wind turbine to support the availability of electrical energy. The results of this service include: the realization of a helix type wind turbine unit as a clean and renewable energy alternative which can generate about 300 watts of electricity; the transfer of technology and knowledge, especially regarding the implementation of helix type wind turbines. Abstract

Energi listrik saat ini merupakan salah satu kebutuhan masyarakat yang sangat penting dan sebagai sumber daya ekonomis yang paling utama yang dibutuhkan dalam berbagai kegiatan. Kebutuhan energi listrik setiap tahunnya terus mengalami peningkatan. Namun, perkembangan konsumsi energi listrik yang pesat ini tidak diimbangi dengan pertumbuhan pembangkit listrik. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka dibutuhkan sumber energi alternatif sebagai pengganti batu bara. Salah satu sumber daya alam yang dapat diperbaharui adalah energi surya. Untuk memanen energi tersebut, diperlukan suatu peralatan yang dinamakan panel surya atau fotovoltaik. Penelitian ini membahas tentang perancangan instalasi PLTS di Yayasan LPI Sabilillah Malang dengan menggunakan metode analisa secara teknis dan ekonomi. Sistem PLTS ini dirancang untuk menyuplai kebutuhan listrik guna membantu kegiatan sehari-hari. Perancangan PLTS ini membutuhkan 10 modul surya berkapasitas 120 wp, 1 buah Inverter berkapasitas 3 kW, dan 4 unit baterai 12 V/20 Ah. penghematan biaya listrik dalam setahun sebesar Rp. 2.369.885,88,- dengan modal instalasi instalasi sistem PLTS sebesar Rp. 15.600.000,-, sehingga dapat diketahui waktu balik modal dari instalasi sistem PLTS ini adalah 6,5 tahun.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor berkurangnya gizi pada susu adalah kesalahan dalam proses pengolahannya, produk susu biasanya akan melalui proses pasteurisasi guna membunuh bakteri didalamnya dan menambah waktu simpan susu. Namun proses pasteurisasi yang salah justru akan mengakibatkan berkurangnya gizi yang terkandung didalam susu dan tak jarang akan membuat susu justru menjadi rusak. Sistem kontrol tungku api otomatis dirancang untuk menangani masalah yang ada dimana dengan menggunakan mekanikal servo, sistem akan secara otomatis mengatur bukaan katup tungku api untuk menjaga suhu pada set-point yang diinginkan, sehingga suhu akan terjaga dan protein pada susu tidak rusak karena suhu pada proses pemasakan yang terlalu tinggi.  Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, bahwa sistem tanpa fuzzy membutuhkan waktu selama 1 jam untuk dapat mencapai set-point, sedangkan sistem dengan fuzzy hanya membutuhkan waktu 30 menit saja untuk mencapai set-point.
