Abstract

The study aims at generating a sufficient alternative training model for decreasing the body fat ratio among overweight women. The study refers to the research and development model by Borg & Gall. When the study was conducted, a total of 10 respondents were involved in small-scale test, a total of 17 respondents were involved in big-scale test and a total of 12 respondents were involved in product effectiveness test. Then, in order to be selected as the subject in the study the respondents should be overweight women who became the members of gymnastics studio in the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region. Then, the instrument in the study was attained from the expert judgment and the suggestions by Pilates instructors through questionnaire distribution and body fat ratio measurement. In analysing the data, the descriptive analytical technique was employed and the paired sample t-test was employed specifically on the product effectiveness test. The results of the study are in the form of Pilates training model that has been validated by 2 experts. The Pilates training model itself consists of 14 warming-up movements, 22 main movements and 11 cooling-down movements. Furthermore, the results of the study show that the developmet of Pilates training model for decreasing the body fat ratio has already been valid in terms of burning the body fat. In addition, the results of the test show that the development of Pilates training model has belonged to the “Good” category.

Abstract

The study aims at exploring the final examination test items to identify the quality of the test items as an evaluation instrument. The study is descriptive quantitative research that pursues the document analysis to view the Final Semester Examination test item characteristics of Pancasila and Civic Education in Grade VIII of State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 or MTs Negeri 3) in the Regency of Gunungkidul, the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region, within the 2020/2021 Academic Year. In analyzing the data that have been collected, the researchers have adopted the approach of Item Response Theory (*IRT) using the R Program assistance. The results of the study show that the Final Semester Examination test items of Pancasila and Civic Education are more appropriate to be analyzed by using the SPL Model. The degree of difficulty for these items falls into the “Good” quality within the range -4.0 until +4.0. On the contrary, the item discrimination capacity ranges between 0.079 and 4.891 with the “Moderate” quality.

Abstract

Abstract

A review of the educational research and development articles in Jurnal Keolahragaan AbstractSkeptical feelings about the value of educational research remained. Educational research and development (RD) as applied research has the potential to bridges the gap between educational research and practice. The keywords tag cloud in the Jurnal Keolahragaan revealed that this type of research is widely conducted. Unfortunately, a review of the R D articles in this journal had not been carried out. Therefore, this study aims to review R D articles in Jurnal Keolahragaan. The method used in this research is a document study. Data collected from the journal archive. The result of this study confirmed that RD was indeed widely used and reported in the journal. The findings from analytical reviews were as follow: the debatable use of the term 'model' which is frequently used, the inaccuracy of the reference used in developmental procedures, and the evaluation procedures dominated by quantitative data.

Abstract

Honest and discipline as learning outcomes need to be assessed. Many teachers have difficulty developing honesty and discipline assessments. The lack of honest and discipline assessment instruments require special attention in development. The purposes of this developmental research were to find out: (1) honest and discipline instrument indicators; (2) content validity of the instrument; (3) construct validity of the instrument; (4) instrument reliability and (5) instrument application for assessment. The research method used the development of affective instruments. The research subjects were 140 students of grade IV and V on the elementary school. The instrument used a peer-assessment model with a summative rating scale. Data analysis technique used content validity with Aiken index; construct validity with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA); reliability with Cronbach; and application of instrument with descriptive quantitative. The results of the study were indicators of honest assessment instruments and discipline of the peer-assessment model, consisted of 4, honest: convey the true information and do the examination independently. Discipline: come to school on time and obey the rules of the school. The content validity of the developed assessment instruments based on the theory had fulfilled and included in the high category. The construct validity for the developed instrument had fulfilled; means, all items were valid. Reliability of the developed instrument had met the requirements; means, the instruments were reliable. The developed instruments can be used for assessment and proved by the use of instruments for honest and disciplined assessment of elementary school students.
