Abstract

The research objective was to determine the quality of the milkfish pond waters (Chanos chanos) in the Tatah River Mangrove Ecotourism Area. This research was conducted from March to May 2020. Purposive sampling was one of the research methods used to collect data. Water samples were taken once a week (in the morning, afternoon and evening) from six sampling stations. The parameters observed included the physical and chemical properties of the waters. The data analysis used was scoring. The results of the research on the level of quality suitability of pond waters in the Tatah River Mangrove Ecotourism Area indicated that station 2, and 4 were very suitable level of conformity (S1) meaning that it is potential station while station 1, 3, 5 and 6 were quite appropriate (S2) which means that the areas meet the minimum requirements for use in milkfish (C. chanos) cultivation

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the prevalence and degree of parasitic infection in milkfish (Chanos chanos) cultivated in the Sungai Hukum and Segintung traditional ponds. This research was conducted in the traditional river pond areas of Sungai Undang and Segintung from March to May 2020. The sample used was 10 fish per pond obtained from the farmers' crops with a size of 29-37 cm and a weight of 223-354 grams. The data were analyzed descriptively. From the research results, in Sungai Undang pond found five types of parasites with a prevalence of Anisakis sp. (80%), Tricodina sp. (60%), Digenea (40%), Argulus sp. (40%), and Rhabdochona (20%), while in Segintung pond four types of parasites were found, namely Anisakis sp. (70%), Tricodina sp. (30%), Digenea (20%) and Rhabdochona (40%). The degree of parasite infection in traditional ponds was Anisakis sp. (2), Tricodina sp. (11), Digenea (2.75), Argulus sp. (2) and Rhabdochona (1.5). Meanwhile, in traditional ponds, bunches Anisakis sp (3,4), Tricodina sp. (2,7), Digenea (1,5) and Rhabdochona (2,75). The prevalence rate of parasites in milkfish in Sungai Undang traditional pond was higher than in the traditional Segintung pond, while the level of parasite infection rate in both ponds was similarly low, except that the parasite Tricodina sp in Sungai Undang pond was categorized as moderate infection.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the water quality in the floating net cage area in the cultivation of tilapia (Oreochromis nilocitus) and to find out how the condition of the waters in Pematang Limau could support the cultivation activities.  This research was conducted using 3 (three) stations. Water quality data collection was carried out 3 times. The data used included primary and secondary data. Parameters observed in situ included temperature, brightness, current velocity and pH. Ammonia, DO and BOD were analyzed at the Calibration and Health Laboratory of Central Kalimantan in Palangka Raya. Research resulted showed that the overall water quality in the floating net cage area can still be used to maintain tilapia culture. The water quality at each station showed a value that can still be used for cultivation activities except for BOD value that was high.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of ectoparasites that attack Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and to determine the level of intensity, prevalence and dominance of ectoparasites. The method used in this study is a survey method with a sampling technique used to inventory the parasites found in Tilapia. The method of data collection was carried out by the field observation method which was carried out in the floating net cages belonging to the community residing in the waters of Lake Sembuluh, Lake Sembuluh I. Observation of ectoparasites was carried out in the external section of the Tilapia, namely the scales, mucus fins and gills. This research was conducted in April - July 2019. The parameters observed in this study included identification of the types of ectoparasites that attacked and the prevalence of ectoparasites in Tilapia and water quality as supporting data. The research data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were 3 types of ectoparasites identified, namely Dactylogirus sp, Tricodina sp and Argulus. The average prevalence of ectoparasites that attacked fish in the cage was Trichodina at 87.67%, Dactylogyrus at 60.00% and Argulus at 43.33%. if the value of water quality, the condition of Lake Sembuluh's water quality is not good, this can be seen from the high value of ammonia, which ranges between 0.02 - 0.10 mg / l and BOD 4.54 - 5.55 ppm. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the type of ectoparasites and to determine the level of prevalence, intensity, and dominance in tilapia. This research was conducted using an experimental method. Sampling was carried out in floating net cages in Pematang Limau Village, 10 samples of tilapia were taken for each sampling and then examined in the laboratory. During fish sampling, water samples were also taken to analyze the ammonia and dissolved oxygen content. Sample organs including scales, fins, mucus and gills were examined using scraping and biopsy methods. The results showed that there were 3 types of ectoparasites that attack tilapia based on the organs they attack, namely Argulus sp., Trichodina sp. and Oodinium sp. The prevalence of parasites that occur in tilapia shows that fish are very often infected, where the average prevalence of Argulus sp. 35%, Trichodina sp. 45% and Oodinium sp. 55%. The intensity of the parasite that attacked tilapia during the study was in the mild category, namely the intensity value ranged from 1.79 to 18.33 ind/fish while the type of parasite that dominated was Oodinium sp.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to diagnose diseases that attack tilapia and analyze the quality of the waters around the floating net cages. The research was conducted using in situ and ex situ methods. Sampling was carried out in Pematang Limau Village, while for disease diagnosis at the PUSKESWAN Laboratory and water chemistry analysis at the Health and Calibration Laboratory of Palangka Raya. Diagnosis is made by taking fish samples and observing the clinical symptoms of fish. Disease diagnosis included parasitic and bacterial diseases. For water quality parameters, physical and chemical parameters of the waters were observed. Based on the diagnostic results of observations in the field and in the laboratory, a conclusion was obtained that the tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) reared in floating net cages in Pematang Limau Village did not experience specific diseases because the symptoms showed only bleeding and lumps on the skin, side of the mouth of some fish only. Laboratory results from the identification of the disease for bacterial diseases were not found, only parasitic diseases with a mild attack level with 4 types of ectoparasites that often attack tilapia. The results of the analysis of water quality in the waters also showed relatively good, but when viewed from the BOD and COD values, it shows that there was light water pollution.
