Abstract

Problems in the process of burning fossil fuels still produce power and torque of the engine with large fuel oil needs. Various ways can be done to improve engine performance by using bioethanol as a mixture of pertamax without reducing engine power and torque, the use of fuel pertamax may reduce. The purpose of the study to determine effect of the use of bioethanol mixture with pertamax fuel to power and torque of gasoline engine, in addition to know the working temperature of radiator water and exhaust gas especially the injection system capacity of 150 cc. The study process uses experimental method which is devided into several steps: mixture bioetanol and pertamax 92 with volume comparison, vehicle power and torque test use chasis dynamometer, working temperatur of radiator water and exhaust gas test use sensor thermocouple K type. The results of the study indicate that in the Bp 30% mixture on 8000 rpm, the power is increased by 12.92 Hp with radiator water temperature of 52.96 °C at the exhaust gas of 126.85 °C. While the torque is increased by 13.47 Nm blend of Bp 30% at 6000 rpm with radiator water temperature of 52.51 °C at the exhaust gas of 136.15 °C. Based on the result mixture bioetanol and pertamax 92 with precentages 30% increased vehicle power and torque.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of using a mixture of methanol add on to pertalite to the performance of gasoline engines, especially injection system with a capacity of 250 cc engine with two cylinders. This research used experimental method with variables used in this research is mixture of pure pertalite (P), mixture of pertalite - methanol 90% - 10% (PM1), mixture of pertalite - methanol 80% - 20% (PM2), mixture of pertalite - methanol 70% - 30% (PM3), mixed pertalite - methanol 60% - 40% (PM4), 50% - 50% (PM5) pertalite - methanol mixtures, pertalite - methanol 40% - 60% (PM6). Variable related in this research is power, torque and working temperature of the engine. The results of this study indicate that the addition of methanol with pertalite fuel tends to produce lower power and torque, while the temperature of the radiator and exhaust system shows that the use of methanol mixture with pertalite fuel can significantly increase the engine temperature of the vehicle.

Abstract

Abstract. The rear-view mirror is one of the main devices found in cars. A mirror is a mirror used to see the traffic of a vehicle behind when it is about to veer, stop or change lanes. The purpose of this study was to design a pre-crash performance test of the rearview mirror. That is a system that will automatically perform mirror folding automatically based on the distance of the object in front of it. The system will reduce the risk of broken or scratched due to driver negligence. The research method at a time when the barrier is 30cm (±20cm) away from the front or back of the rearview mirror will read that distance which will then transmit to the Arduino. Arduino will process the data and send data for the speed reduction process by warning that there is an object in front or behind the rearview mirror and when the distance is <30cm from the barrier object, then the Arduino will order to fold the rearview mirror automatically, by activating the servo motor to fold the rear and rearview mirrors. The result of this study was to find out the performance of the GP2Y0A21 distance sensor reading and the performance of the rearview mirror pre-crash system. In this study, the bound variable was the distance measurement of the sensor's reading. The free variable used is the sensor reading metering distance displayed on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display).

Abstract

The study aims to observe the diffusion process which is influenced by different velocity and fluid concentrations. Using a microfluidic system and the diffusion process through a reverse osmosis membrane. The research was carried out by flowing fluid into the microchannel. The diffusion process is known by measuring and analyzing the density of liquid waste aquades-trimethylene glycol. The results showed the amount of diffusion through the membrane was influenced by flow velocity and fluid concentration. this is because the velocity of the flow produces pressure on the wall so that it pushes the fluid to diffuse through the membrane.

Abstract

Kondisi perekonomian saat pandemi ini sungguh merosot tajam, hal ini di tandai dengan rendahanya daya beli masyarakat. Hal ini tentunya disebabkan lapangan kerja yang semakin berkurang, sedangkan tenaga produktif bertambah sehingga penganguran semakin bertambah. Untuk menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan ekonomi rakyat, perlu dilakukan penguatan pada industri kecil dan menengah. Salah satunya adalah industry keripik tepung singkong UMKM TIGA DIVA. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan produktivitas kerupuk singkong. Metode implementasi dan pendekatan untuk memecahkan masalah produksi mitra UMKM. Langkah pertama adalah penyesuaian. Dari koordinasi dan diskusi yang berlangsung, lahir enam program strategis untuk mengatasi permasalahan di bidang produksi yaitu: a. Penentuan spesifikasi mesin pengaduk adonan, b. Pengadaan mesin pengaduk adonan. c. Uji coba mesin pengaduk adonan. D. Pelatihan dan pendampingan mesin pengaduk. Sedangkan untuk permasalahan bidang pemasaran, diperoleh program strategis penyelesaian permasalahan bidang pemasaran yaitu perancangan pemasaran berbasis online melalui website dan marketplace. Berdasarkan rancangan penilaian kegiatan, Hasil pengabdian menggambarkan tahapan kegiatan pengabdian penerapan iptek dan pencapaian indikator keberhasilan: Tim layanan menyinkronkan jadwal dan membuat daftar alat dan bahan yang digunakan oleh masyarakat pembuat keripik singkong. Berdasarkan hasil penyesuaian tersebut, tim pengabdian bersiap untuk mendukung pembuatan mesin pengaduk, web and pemasaran, dan pengelolaan UMKM. Lama waktu pengadukan tanpa mesin pengaduk untuk kapasitas 50 kg dibutuhkan 6 orang dengan waktu sekitar 30 menit, sedangkan setelah menggunakan mesin pengaduk hanya butuh 3 orang dengan waktu sekitar 5 menit. Sehingga dapat meningkatan produktifitas umkm meningkat secara signifikan sekitar 2,85 kali dari sebelum adanya mesin pengaduk.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang akan dilakuakan adalah bagaimana cara usaha budidaya melon golden dengan system penyiraman otomatis. Dengan subyek pengabdian ini adalah kelompok tani wanita di desa Banjaragung, Rengel Kabupaten Tuban yang banyak waktu luangnya. Sehingga dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Tujuan dari ide atau gagasan ini sebagai berikut: 1. Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang manfaat dan guna budidaya melon golden bagi peningkatan ekonomi dan kesehatan masyarakat. 2. Menciptakan peluang komersial dari usaha budidaya melon golden, sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat. 3. Pengenalan cara efektif dan efesien budidaya melon golden kepada masyarakat. Dalam kegiatan PKM ini menggunakan metode sebagai berikut: 1. Mengadakan koordinasi dengan calon peserta pelatihan untuk menggali informasi tentang kebutuhan. 2. Mempersiapkan materi pelatihan dan merancang kegiatannya. 3. Melaksanakan pelatihan budidaya Melon Golden. 4. Mengevaluasi pelatihan. 5. Mengobservasi pelatihan budidaya melon golden.

Abstract

The inconsistency of the wind flow considered as one of the factors which tend to decrease the performance of the wind turbine. This paper proposes a further analysis of the initial rotation characteristic of a hybrid Savonius - Darrieus wind turbine. The addition of the Darrieus blade intends to increase the aerodynamic stability of the overlapping Savonius turbine. This study implements 2D CFD transient analysis using the 6DOF methods in 00, 300, 600, and 900 Darrieus blade position along with 2 m/s, 4 m/s, and 6 m/s wind speed variations. The results of the aerodynamic analysis show that the location of the Darrieus 300 turbine provides the greatest initial repulsion, especially when the turbine rotation is above 900, the position of the Darrieus blade can provide additional impulse force when the Savonius turbine tends to be passive. This effect occurs more significant at higher wind speeds. Savonius with 3-blade modification has a more stable level of force distribution than the 2-blade modification, although the value is smaller. This shows that the 3-blade Savonius provide a higher stability of angular velocity development.

Abstract

Solar energy as renewable energy has great potential to supply the world's energy needs. Solar thermal energy can be used for domestic energy purposes (cooking and water heating). The purpose of this research is to develop, design and analyze the performance of a solar cooker from the concentration of direct normal irradiance (DNI) by the Fresnel lens on the receiver/absorber as a cooking vessel. One form of improving the performance of the Fresnel solar concentrator (FSC) is the addition of an automatic solar tracker installation using hydraulic actuators. The solar tracker is varied, every 5 and 10 minutes, respectively. The solar cooker performance test was conducted outdoors at the Mechanical Engineering Department of State Polytechnic of Malang (7.9553 oS and 112.6125 oE) in April 2021. The method used actual experimental research. The measurement of solar radiation uses a solar power meter SPM-1116SD and the tracker's movement. At the same time, the temperature parameters (water temperature, receiver wall temperature, focal point temperature, ambient temperature) are measured by the temperature data logger. The concentrated solar cooker type design uses a fresnel lens with a capture area of 0.785 m2 and a focal ratio of 0.88. The main components of this solar cooker design consist of: a large fresnel lens that functions as a concentrator of sunrays, a cone-shaped cooking stove as a solar collector (receiver), and a hydraulic actuator-type solar tracker unit. Initial tests showed that the solar radiation, In = 789.00 W/m2, obtained the focal point temperature at the receiver, Tf = 930.10°C. Meanwhile, the thermal efficiency (Th) of a solar cooker with a solar tracker that moves every 10 minutes and 5 minutes is 12.7% and 33.66%, respectively. The increase in the thermal efficiency of the solar cooker is very significant, which is 2.65 times. This shows that the more accurate and continuous movement of the tracker will increase the thermal efficiency of the designed Fresnel solar cooker.

Abstract

The large electricity bill for aerators and filter pumps in Koi fish farming ponds is a problem for PPM (Community Service) partners. In addition, long-term power outages can cause fish death. This koi fish farming located in Tulungagung district has an area of ​​about 2000 m2 which is divided into several pond plots. The decline in the quality of Koi fish is also caused by poor filtration. The purpose of this activity is to install a micro-scale Solar power plant. This micro Solar Power Plant is used as a power source for filter pumps and pond aerators. The installed 600 Wp Solar Power Plant system consists of 4 solar panels with a capacity of 150 Wp each, an 850 VA hybrid inverter, and a 100 Ah VRLA battery. Electrical energy from Solar Power Plant can power a 75 W pump with a capacity of 26000 L/h. The installation of solar panels in this pool can produce an average of 2.5 kWh of electrical energy/day. So that the electricity savings from PLN can reach IDR. 108,352.5 per month.

Abstract

The manufacture of wind turbine blades has a very high risk of failure, especially in the manufacturing section or in this case the material structure. If the structure of the propeller material is not able to withstand the very high pressure and air flow, it will result in the failure of the material structure when it is in use. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to determine the composition of composite materials that have high strength and toughness properties and are suitable for wind turbine propellers. The method used in this research is experimental. The independent variables include the number of layers and the volume fraction of straw fiber. The dependent variables are shock load and compressive strength. Each compression test specimen is made with a gauge length of 100mm, a width of 25mm, and a thickness of 2.5mm. While the impact test specimens are made equal to l25mm long, l2mm wide, l2mm high, and 2mm notch. The results showed that the bending strength of the straw fiber composite with 6 layers had an increasing trend as the number of layers increased. The highest bending strength with the number of piles of 6 layers and the lowest strength with the number of piles of 2 layers. In addition, the volume fraction is very influential on the bending stress of the straw composite matrix. It can be seen that the matrix with a volume fraction of 50% has the greatest bending stress in each number of layers, both 2, 4 and 6. For the impact test, it is found that the optimal number of layers occurs in the number of 2 layers with a volume fraction of 33%. The shock load tends to decrease. Meanwhile, based on the volume fraction, the larger the volume fraction, the smaller the shock load that can be received by the straw fiber composite material.
