Abstract

Utilization  of non-wood products for woven crafts isone of the pottentials in Pangkalan Buton Village, Sukadana Subdistrict, North Kayong Regency and becomes a raw material in making woven crafts. The research aims to obtain types of non-wood forest products for woven handicrafts and to describe the types of woven handicraft products by the people of Pangkalan Buton Village, Sukadana District. Research using descriptive qualitative methods. Data Collection is done by intetview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that there are 6 types of plants that are used by the community for woven crafts, namely bamboo rope (Gigantochloa apus), coconut (Cocos nucifera), nipah (Nypa fruticans), pandanus thorn (Pandanus tectoris) recam (Distranopteris linearis) and rattan candles (Calamus javensis). These types of planys are used as raw materials for woven crafts. Bamboo Reeds are into baskets and mistaken products. Coconut leaves are made into rattan products. Nipah leaf is made intoa woven roofing product. Pandan thom leaves are made into woven products for table mats, wallets, bags, pencil cases, tissues and mats. Resam rod is made into woven ring and bracelet products. Abstract

This research to determine the indirect use value of coastal protection by planting mangroves in Setapuk Besar Village and comparing the benefits between the development of coastal protection in biological and physical. research was carried out from July-August 2018. this study used descriptive quantitative method. Analyze the data using the replacement cost method. Interview was carried out only with key respondents who as acted the chairman of the SPM (Surya Perdana Mandiri) association in Setapuk Besar. The results showed that total costs incurred are based on planting, protection, work wages and inventory activities of Rp. 270.182.000 there was 4 (four) financing according to the object of expenditure in the mangrove return activities (Enrichment). The cost of returning mangroves is much cheaper than the cost of making breakwaters other than that the benefits of mangroves are far more than building protection with Breakwater.Keyword: Economic valuation, Mangrove, replacement cost

Abstract

Forest is an ecosystem unit in the form of a stretch of land containing biological natural resourcesdominated by trees in its natural environment which can not be separated from the life of indigineous communities. This study aims to find out the diversity of vegetation types of stand composition trees in Gunung Soka Indigenous Forest. This study used transect method and the transect lineswere determined purposively. There were 4 (four) transect lines with 500 m lenght, 10 m wide to the left and 10 m wide to the right. The observation plot was 20 m, and there were 25 plots, so the total was 1 ha. There were 100 plots to study with 4 transect line so the total area was 4 ha. The result show that there are 23 trees vegetation consists of 13 family, 741 of individual trees in Gunung Soka Indigenous Forest. The highest important value index (INP) was found in engkabang bukit (Shorea pinanga Scheff.) with a value of 82,25, while the lowest important value index was found in keraci (Quercus lucida Roxb.) with a value of 1,42. The Dominance index (C) of trees vegetation is 0,17525 or C = 1 ,which shows that there are more than one dominant tree. The Diversity index (DS) of trees vegetation is closte to 1, which shows moderate diversity of species. The Highest species Abundance index (e) of tree vegetation was found in line 1 with a value of 0,9493, meanwhile the lowest value was found in line 2 with a value of 0,5764.Kata Kunci : Diversity,indigenous forest, tree vegetation

Abstract

Mangrove forests, often referred to as mangrove forests, brackish forests or tidal forests, is a transitional ecosystem between land and sea which are tropical or sub-tropical areas along the sheltered coast and river mouth. Mangrove forest is a coastal plant community dominated by several species of mangrove trees that are able to grow and develop during the tides in accordance with their tolerance to salinity, duration of inundation, substrate and beach morphology. Awan Kiri Mangrove Forest has a total area of 114 hectares including the area of Other Management Areas (APL) then seen from the density of the Mangrove Forest only has 92 hectares. This study uses a non-destructive survey method. Vegetation carbon stock calculation is carried out using vegetation biomass calculation approach. Vegetation biomass calculation based on the calculation of allometric equations. Calculation the value of stored carbon using the formula according to (SNI 7724:2011) the value of parent carbon content,amounting to 0,47. Bassed on the research that has been done, it is found that there are 185 individuals, Rhizophora spp., Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizpphora apiculata, Xylocarpus gerantum and Excoecaria agallocha. The biomassa content can be known in the 3 pathways to store 242,16 tons biomassa and the total  biomassa content in 1210,8 tons/ha with an everage of 403,6 tons/ha. The carbon content is 569,06 tons/ha so that it gets an average total of 186,68 tons C/ha.Keywords: Carbon Stock, Ketapang Regency, Sungai Awan Kiri in Mangrove Forests.

Abstract

Danau Wisata Sejarah Sebedang (DWSS) is one of the tourist attractions located in Sambas district. Most of the economic impacts that exist on these attractions are not widely known. Therefore, there is a need for research to determine the economic value and factors that influence tourism demand for this tourist attraction. The purpose of this research is to analyze the economic impact felt by the surrounding community. To achieve the research objectives used the Travel Cost Method and the Keynesian multiplier. The object of research is visitors who come to DWSS, business units and local workforce. Visitors of Sebedang Lake tourism objects are generally dominated by community groups aged 25 years - 35 years, with high school education level and equivalent, their income level is more than Rp. 2,000,000.00 per month. The factors that influence recreational demand to DWSS are travel costs and travel time. The average tourist expenditure is Rp. 56,295.00 with 3,253 monthly visits. The existence of this DWSS object has an economic impact on the local community around, such as the direct economic impact in the form of business unit owner's income, which is 66%. While the indirect impact in the form of labor income is 1%. Then the further impact is in the form of labor expenditure of 59% which is used for food needs. The Keynesian lncome Multiplier value is 2.64, Type 1 Ratio Income Multiplier is 1.19 and Type 2 Ratio Income Multiplier is 1.21.Keywords : Sebedang Lake,economic impact, Natural Recreation

Abstract

Food plants have long been used by local people of Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District because of their simple processing and available in the forest. For generations, the village community has been accustomed to using food sources for their daily staple food needs. In addition, local food plants are still widely used because there is no market in Hli Buei Village. Until now, the use of plant food sources in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District has never been studied. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the Ethnobotany of Plant Food for the Dayak Bidayuh Community in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District. The aim is to provide information about food plant species, utilization and processing of food source plants in Hli Buei Village, Siding Subdistrict, Bengkayang District. The research method is a survey method and data collection techniques by interview. Determination of respondents by purposive sampling in addition to observation and study of literature. Based on the results of interviews that have been conducted, there were 95 species from 44 families. The level of plant habitus that is widely used comes from the tree level (29.47%), herbs (28.42%), shrubs (22.1%), and the least is epiphyte (1.05%). The most part of the mash which used as food of the fruit, namely as many as 55 species (57.89%), leaves 17 species (17.89%) and the lowest was in the stems, shoots, tubers, flower buds, skin, fruit and heart, fruit. and umbut, fruit, tuber and water, terrace stem and tuber each 1 type (1.05%). Utilization of the most food plant groups came from the fruit group, namely 36 species (37.89%) and the lowest was the 3 species of cereals (3.15%).Keywords: Dayak Bidayuh, Ethnobotany, Plant Food

Abstract

Forest benefits especially in national park such as recreation facilities, watersheds, protection of ecological proces, biodiversity, education and research as well as the future of collateral value is valued lower because still many people who dont understand the value of the various benefits of Forest Resources especially the benefits of water. To understand the benefits of Forest Resources will require an assessment of all the resulting benefits.The research objectives are to examine the influence of socioeconomic factors on domestic water and fish cages consumption, calculate the economic value of water for domestic and fish cages as well as examine the contribution of the use of water to communities in the TNDS SPTN Region II Semitau. The method used is descriptive method through a survey form and interview techniques both unstructured and structured observations and direct measurements in the field. Analysis using the method of determination of the demand model "Stepwise Regression" with the software SPSS 16.00.TNDS area provides enormous benefits of water if valued in money. The results show the economic value of water is Rp 13.444.886.086,92 per year for domestic water needs in the research area and Rp 127.641.323.610,00 per year for domestic water needs in the TNDS area. For fish cages water needs in research area economic value of water is Rp 15.044.768.326,15 per period. Water sources in TNDS area contributes in meeting the needs of water, especially for people who are around the area and generally for people who are out of the area for domestic needs, fisheries, and other economic activities. Abstract

PT Suka Jaya Makmur (SJM) in West Kalimantan is one of forest concessionaires in Indonesia that adopt the Intensive Sylviculture System (TPTJ), while the most common system in Indonesia is Selective Cutting and Planting System (TPTI). Through TPTJ sylviculture system, only selected timber are allowed to be harvested (diameter e” 40 cm), which then followed by strip line planting activity. The TPTJ system is likely able to prevent degradation of forest resource compare to common TPTI system, thus it has potency to reduce greenhouse gas emission (GHG). . This study aims to analyze plant growth meranti and measure the potential environmental affects plant growth on the system TPTJ.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) study the problems in facing Ketapang FMU development, (2) determine the role of stakeholder in the development of KPH (Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan). Data was collected through in-depth interviews and literature review. Data were analyzed descriptively and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the implementation of development KPH partly hampered because of limited human resources, budget constraints, the lack of support PERDA/ district regulations, and the land claim by the communities. The stakeholders involved in the development of KPH District of Ketapang include Dishut provinces and districts, BPDAS, NGOs, Universities, customary communities, Bappeda, KPH candidates themselves and the private-business that will support economic development in the aspect KPH. Based on these problems, the strategy required in Ketapang KPH development are (1) the use of force and use of land in an effort to meet the demand for wood, e.g. HTR/Social Forestry and HD/Village Forest in the HP/Production Forest, (2) Academics and NGOs helped draft the management plan of KPH, design and align with the utilization of forests for timber and non timber forest product; ecotourism, one village one product and the carbon market. Abstract

This study aims to estimate carbon stored in above ground at the Mempawah Mangrove Park (MMP) area of Mempawah District, the data used were mangrove planted in 2013. Full Enumeration was used in this study while collecting the data applied non destructive sampling method for the tree, its was a diameter of ≥ 5 cm. Based on the results of measurements and observations in the field directly, it had 63 of the total number of line which were done by all the areas of Mempawah Mangrove Park in Mempawah District. The result of this study reveals which has 2 (two) kinds of mangrove. They are Avicennia marina dan Rhizopora stylosa. Avicennia marina is kinds of mangrove that dominate with the total number of 35 individuals based on the tree level and 1404 individuals relating the stake level. Then, Rhizopora stylosa gets the stake level for two individuals so that the stand density is 379.21 /ha. The value of biomass in the MMP area is 7.16 tons C / ha and the carbon value in the MMP area is 3.37 tons C / ha.Keywords: Above Ground Biomass, Carbon, Mangrove ForestsPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga karbon tersimpan di atas permukaan tanah di kawasan Mempawah Mangrove Park (MMP) Kabupaten Mempawah, data yang digunakan yaitu data yang ditanam pada tahun 2013. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu pengamatan secara menyeluruh (full enumeration), sedangkan untuk mengumpulkan data di lapangan menggunakan metode non destructive sampling (pengukuran tanpa melakukan pemanenan) pada pohon yang berdiameter > 5 cm. Berdasarkan hasil dari pengukuran dan pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan dengan jumlah jalur sebanyak 63 yang dilakukan pada seluruh kawasan MMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua jenis mangrove yaitu jenis Avicennia mariana dan Rhizopora stylosa yang mendominasi pada kawasan MMP, dimana A. Mariana merupakan jenis yang mendominasi dengan jumlah 35 individu pada tingkat pohon dan 1.404 individu pada tingkat pancang, sedangkan untuk jenis R. Stylosa hanya terdapat pada tingkat pancang dengan jumlah 2 individu sehingga didapatlah kerapatan tegakan sebesar 379,21 ind/Ha. Nilai biomassa pada kawasan MMP sebesar 7,16 ton C/Ha dan nilai karbon pada kawasan MMP sebesar 3,37 ton C/Ha.Kata kunci : mangrove, Karbon, karbon tersimpan
