Abstract

This study was aimed at obtaining basic information about bioecology of Haemonchus contortus, related to larval development and anatomical description of infective larvae (L3). In this study, the ova of Haemonchus contortus were harvested out of the intestines of goats, those were slaughtered in municipal slaughterhouse in Kampung Jawa Banda Aceh. The ova of Haemonchus contortus were then cultured using vermiculite as media, and observed daily until the larvae reached 3rd stage larvae. The result revealed that the larvae need 7 days to reach from eggs into infective larvae. Larvae obtained has uniform morphology, with a body diameter of 22 μm, tail length up to 55 μm hyaline, esophagus posterior to the tail of 592 μm, length of esophagus anterior to posterior esophagus 145 μm, and a total body length of larvae 737 μm.

Abstract

This research has purposes to identify parasites as well as to reward determining the prevalence of parasites on water monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) was captured in Banda Aceh. As many as 50 water monitor lizard were used this research and examined at the Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Syiah Kuala. Examination of ectoparasites on the surface of the body was done by direct examination. Endoparasit examination carried out by observation in blood using the blood smear and centrifugation techniques microhematocrit (mHCT), while fecal examination using flotation method, Borray sedimentation and digestive tract surgery digestive tract surgery if obtained at least 3 types of helminth eggs (1 cestodes, 1 nematodes, and 1 trematodes). Results of observation on blood is no parasites were found. Observations on the skin was obtained ectoparasites Amblyomma sp. with a prevalence rate of 100% category always. Observations of feces obtained Ascaris sp. with a prevalence rate of 74% category usualy and Stronyloides spp. with a prevalence rate of 8% category sometimes. Based on these results it can be concluded that the parasites that can infest the water monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) is Amblyomma sp, Ascaris sp, and Stronyloides spp. with variant  prevalence rates.

Abstract

Abstract Dogs are one of the domestic animals that are much loved by humans as pets because of their relatively easy maintenance. The existence of dogs is becoming popular among the public, because for some people, dogs are kept as friends, guards, hunters, scouts or drug trackers.. On the other hand, to maintain their good body condition, then need to control their health.. One of the parameters for dog health disorders is the presence of ectoparasites in their body. This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of ectoparasites of hunting dogs that are kept in Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh Regency. Research activities have been carried out from November 2019 to February 2020. The samples used in this study were 30 hunting dog samples that owned by the member of PORBI in Jagong Jeget subdistrict by manual ectoparasites examination. The Analysis of results were conducted descriptively. The results showed that the prevalence of ectoparasites in hunting dogs in Jagong Jeget District was 83.3%. In detail, this result comprised of the prevalence of ectoparasites of the Ctenocephalides canis group at 80%, followed by Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Boophilus sp. with a prevalence of 16.6% and Trichodectes canis with a prevalence of 3.3%. We concluded that there was ectoparasitic infection in hunting dogs that were kept in Jagong Jeget District and hunting dog maintenance management in Jagong Jeget District was still classified as poor.Abstrak Anjing merupakan salah satu hewan domestik yang banyak digemari manusia sebagai hewan kesayangan karena pemeliharaannya yang relatif mudah. Keberadaan anjing sangat populer dikalangan masyarakat tertentu, karena bagi mereka, anjing dipelihara sebagai teman, penjaga, pemburu, pengintai atau pelacak narkoba. Disisi lain, untuk menjaga kondisinya tetap stabil sesuai kebutuhan pemeliharaannya, maka kesehatannya perlu dirawat dengan baik. Salah satu parameter gangguan kesehatan anjing adalah keberadaan ektoparasit dalam tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi pada ektoparasit pada anjing pemburu yang di pelihara di Kecamatan Jagong Jeget Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Kegiatan penelitian telah dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2019 sampai bulan Februari 2020. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 sampel anjing pemburu yang diperiksa dari pemilik anjing pemburu anggota PORBI dari Kecamatan Jagong Jeget dengan pemeriksaan ektoparasit secara makroskopis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi ektoparasit pada anjing pemburu yang di pelihara di Kecamatan Jagong Jeget adalah 83.3%. Secara rinci ektoparasit dari kelompok kelompok Ctenocephalides canis yaitu 80%. diikuti oleh Rhipicephalus sanguineus dan Boophilus sp. dengan prevalensi 16.6% dan Trichodectes canis dengan prevalensi 3.3%. Dapat disimpulan bahwa terdapat infeksi ektoparasit pada anjing pemburu yang dipelihara di Kecamatan Jagong Jeget dengan tingkat infestasi yang tergolong tinggi

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi keragaman jenis dan dominasi lalat penghisap darah yang ada di peternakan semi intensif di Aceh Besar. Koleksi lalat dilakukan pada peternakan semi intensif yang ada di Desa Jantho Makmur, Desa Sukatani, Desa Ladong, dan Desa Ie Seum. Dalam penelitian ini masing-masing lokasi dipasang perangkap lalat tipe NZ1 trap yang ditempatkan secara random di sekitar kandang berjarak sekitar 5 m dari kandang. Perangkap lalat ditempatkan kurang lebih 10 cm di atas permukaan tanah. Pengumpulan sampel lalat dilakukan dalam interval waktu dua jam sejak pemasangan, yaitu pukul 08:00 pagi hingga pukul 18:00 sore. Selanjutnya lalat dikumpulkan dan dieuthanasia dengan alkohol 70%. Seluruh sampel yang diperoleh dari setiap lokasi diidentifikasi menggunakan kunci identifikasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada peternakan semi intensif di Aceh Besar diperoleh 4 (empat) jenis lalat yaitu Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, Stomoxys calcitran, dan Tabanus sp. Spesies lalat yang mendominasi adalah Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, dan Stomoxys calcitran. Kata kunci: Lalat penghisap darah, Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, Stomoxys calcitran, Tabanus sp. ABSTRACT                 This research was conducted to identificate the diversity and dominancy of blood-sucking flies in semi-intensive farms in Aceh Besar. Collection of flies was done in semi-intensive farm in Jantho makmur village, Sukatani village, Ladong village and Ie suum village. On this research, each location was braced a trap flies type NZI trapwich placed randomly around near the cage 5 m from the cage. Trap flies placed ± 10 cm on the ground. Sample were colected within 2 hours by interval time from 08.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. next, flies were collected and euthanated with alkohol 70%. All the sample were identificated using key of identification. The result showed that 4 species were found those were Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, Stomoxys calcitran, and Tabanus sp. In which Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, and Stomoxys calcitran were the dominant species.  Keyword: Blood-sucking flies, Musca domestica, Haematobia exigua, Stomoxys calcitran, Tabanus sp.

Abstract

Ikan kakap putih merupakan bahan pangan yang sangat dibutuhkan manusia karena mengandung asam amino esensial seperti lisin, metionin dan histidin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kadar lemak ikan kakap putih (Lates calcarifer) segar dan kukus. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel ikan kakap segar yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok perlakuan yaitu segar dan dikukus. Uji Laboratorium yang dilakukan adalah menghitung jumlah kadar lemak menggunakan metode Soxhlet. Hasil penelitian dianalisa menggunakan independent sampel T tes, analisa statistik menunjukkan perbedaan nyata antara kadar lemak ikan kakap putih segar dengan ikan kakap putih kukus. Berdasarkan penelitian ini lemak yang terkandung dalam ikan kakap putih yang kukus adalah 1,27 ± 0,09 dan segar 1,78 ± 0,08. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kadar lemak ikan kakap putih segar lebih tinggi daripada kadar lemak ikan kakap kukus.Kata kunci: Ikan kakap putih, kadar lemak, soxhlet

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keberadaan dan distribusi nyamuk Aedes  spp sebagai vektor  demam berdarah dengue (DBD) dengan menggunakan ovitrap di kawasan Gampong Pineung, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala  baik didalam ruangan (indoor) maupun diluar ruangan (outdoor). Penelitian ini dilakukan di lima dusun di Gampong Pineung kecamatan Syiah Kuala yaitu:  Tgk Chik Dipineung,  Bintara Pineung, Tgk Hasyim, Tgk Tengoh, dan T Muda Rayeuk. Hasil pengamatan terhadap total rata-rata telur nyamuk Aedes spp di kelima dusun  tidak memperlihatkan perberbedaan yang nyata (P0,05). Sedangkan jumlah total rata-rata telur nyamuk indoor dan outdoor antar dusun terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P0,05). Tetapi  pada pengamatan terhadap Jumlah rata-rata larva Aedes agypti pada indoor berbeda nyata (P0,05) dibandingkan dengan larva Aedes albopictus. Begitu pula dengan jumlah rata-rata larva Aedes agypti pada outdoor berbeda nyata (P0,05) dibandingkan dengan larva Aedes albopictus.Kata kunci : Ovitrap, Indoor, Outdoor dan Gampong Pineung.ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the presence and distribution of Aedes spp mosquitoes as a vector of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) using ovitrap in Gampong Pineung area, Syiah Kuala subdistrict both indoor (indoor) and outside (outdoor). The research was conducted in five sub-villages in Gampong Pineung, Syiah Kuala sub-district, namely: Tgk Chik Dipineung, Bintara Pineung, Tgk Hasyim, Tgk Tengoh, and T Muda Rayeuk. The observation of total Aedes spp mosquito eggs in the five hamlets did not show a significant difference (P 0.05). While the mean total number of indoor and outdoor mosquito eggs between hamlets there was a real difference (P 0,05). But on observation of the average number of Aedes agypti larvae on indoor space was significantly different (P 0.05) compared with Aedes albopictus larvae. Similarly, the average number of Aedes agypti larvae in outdoor spaces was significantly different (P 0.05) compared with the Aedes albopictus larvae.Keyword : Ovitrap , Indoor, Outdoor, and Gampong Pineung.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the allergy hyperplasma pathologic antibody and to evaluate the immunogenic characteristics. Blood and serum were collected from human suffering rhinitis, skin, eye and asthma allergies. To obtain a cloned allergen plasma protein (protein allergen that had been induced with the serum from human with allergic rhinitis, skin, eye and asthma), the goat was used as an intermediate animal. Hematological analysis showed that the leukocyte cell such as neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and eosinophil increase in allergic-suffered human. The blood smear test exhibited that the mastocyte cell was dominant which contributes to allergy activities in human body. The sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylimide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) assay detected protein allergens with molecular weight of 188 kDa (IgE) and 60-62 kDa (mastocyte cell). The reactivity assay using enzyme linked immunosorbent-assay (ELISA) revealed that cloned-allergens (whole hyperplasma allergen from goat isolates) express the best reactivity at various concentrations of IgE than the leukocyte cells. This research concluded that the clones of protein allergen have better immunogenic characteristic and those proteins can be recommended as the candidate of allergen to induce the humoral immunity on host and deliver specific product of anti-allergy such as milk.

Abstract

The research has been done to know prevalence of toxoplasmosis in livestock, to search the source of infection that have potency to cause toxoplasmosis in human and to make a map of toxoplasmosis infection area in Banda Aceh. The method used in this research was serologic test, Card Aglutination Test (CATT). Data of fertile women in this study are collected through questioner. The result of this research showed that the toxoplasmosis prevalency number of society in Banda Aceh was 3.15%, while at livestock were varied respectively: goats 40%, chickens 25%, cattles 23%, duck 20%, cats 16%, buffalos 15%, and sheeps 10%. The potencial sources of to coures toxoplasmosis in human are: goat, chicken, cattle, duck, cat, buffalo, and sheep. The area found toxoplasmosis in humans and animal were: Baiturrahman, Kuta Raja, Ulee Kareng, Kuta Alam, and Syiah Kuala. Model toxoplasmosis infection patterns in human related to livestock and animal in Banda Acheh are : Y ( POSTOKSO) - 1,55688 + 2,65280 AYA + 1,17709 JDG + 4,28482 KUC - 3,74609 MEM

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi protein 28 kDa (GRA2) dari stadium takizoit dan bradizoit Toxoplasma gondii strain lokal. Cairan asites mencit galur Balb/c digunakan sebagai protein sampel melalui elektroforesis (SDS-PAGE), serum kambing untuk uji antigenitas protein 28 kDa (GRA2) dan serum darah kucing untuk melihat tingkat sensitivitas dan spesifisitas protein 28 kDa (GRA2). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa protein 28 KDa (GRA2) telah dapat diisolasi dari stadium takizoit dan bradizoit Toxoplasma sp. Nilai OD405 antigenesitas ES adalah sebesar 0,578 sedangkan pada antigen GRA2 (28 kDa) diperoleh nilai OD405 adalah sebesar 0,178. Tingkat sensitivitas protein 28 kDa (GRA2) terhadap antibodi dalam serum darah kucing terinfeksi adalah sebesar 61,53% dan nilai spesifisitasnya adalah 33,33%. Tingkat sensitivitas protein ES terhadap antibodi dalam serum darah kucing terinfeksi adalah 76,92% dan tingkat spesifisitasnya adalah 33,33%.

Abstract

A research has been done to identify the distribution of Culicoides species in Banda Aceh. Culicoides samples were collected by using modified Center for Disease Control (CDC) Miniatur Light Trap. All Culicoides samples has choice a small measured, were identified morfologically. The result showed that the number species Culicoides has caught in Ulee Kareng are: C. huffi, C. arakawae and C. shultzei, whereas in Alue Naga are C. huffi and C. shultzei. The distribution of species Culicoides in Ulee Kareng are: C. huffi has 22, C. arakawae 13 and C. shultzei 11. The average distribution of Culicoides in Alue Naga are C. huffi has 11 and C. shultzei has 4 .
