Abstract

One of the research objectives was formulated to improve the quality of education, namely by understanding the problems of students and teachers. There were three main groups of quality characteristics of education highlighted in scientific and academic literature in Russia, namely the quality of educational objectives, the quality of the educational process, and the quality of educational outcomes. The problem of education in Indonesia is the quality of the education process. The development of teaching materials is an alternative to improve the quality of the education process. Research so far has only focused on the implementation of learning models by teachers in the classroom, but the model is not integrated into the teaching materials used. This paper examines how the effectiveness of a product that has been developed for two years on 27 Indonesian students. The product produced is a guided discovery-based module in the Complex Analysis subject. This product was developed after the preliminary analysis (defining) process. Students are given 16 modules during lectures; then students are given a final test containing all the competencies that must be achieved. Test results are scored, and statistical analyses are conducted to compare them with student score before using the module. The test used is t-test. The design used is one of the experimental research designs, One Shot Case Study. The results of the study showed that students who were taught with modules developed effectively to improve student learning outcomes. Further research can be done by implementing different learning models in teaching materials.

Abstract

The capability of thinking critically of the students of UMMY Solok is still low on the subjectEvaluasi Pembelajaran Matematika. From the previous research on this matter, the students tended tobe passive on the process of learning in class, as the impact most of the students was still not able incollecting, analyzing, synthesizing the objects of the lesson, drawing conclusion from the object of thelesson, assessing and correcting the objects of the lesson with the right argumentation, and to solvethe problem on the objects of the lesson. This research is aimed at improving the capability of thestudents through the learning cooperatively with the model of Grouping Investment. Identification ofthe problem in this research is can the model of learning Grouping Investigation improve the skill ofthinking critically of the students of UMMY Solok seen from the indicator of capability of collecting,analyzing, synthesizing the objects of the lesson, capability of drawing the conclusion of the object ofthe lesson, correcting and assessing the objects of the lesson, and the capability of solving the problemon the objects of the lesson.This research is the mixing of the action research and class action research. Before conductingthe class action research, the researcher doing some actions. The action research is integrated whollyto the class action research, so that this step is believed as a continuity process. The subject of thisresearch is the students of fifth semester with the total of 35 students. The data is collected throughobservation sheet, problem design, field notes, and interview. The data is analyzed by simplepercentage and described by descriptive analysis.The results of the research show that the learning using the model of Grouping Investigationcan improve the skill of thinking critically of the students on the subject Evaluasi PembelajaranMatematika. The improvement is shown by 100% of the students is good at collecting the objects ofthe lesson, 71.43% of the students is good at synthesizing the objects of the lesson, 85.71% of thestudents is good at analysing the objects of the lesson, 83,71% of the students is good at drawing theconclusion of the objects of the lesson, 83.33% of the students is good at correcting the objects of thelesson, and 74.19% of the students is good at solving the problem. This shows that the model ofgrouping Grouping Investigation can improve the skill of think critically of the students of UMMYSolok on the subject of Evaluasi Pembelajaran Matematika.

Abstract

Background of this research is comprehension of concept studied mathematic at student  SMPN 4 Muara Bungo class VIII is still low. The purpose of this research is to know what is studied comprehension of concept student  with spotlight technique is good than conventional study at SMPN 4 Muara Bungo class VIII. Kinds of this research is experimental research with hypothesis p-value is 0,005, so hypothesis is receive. So that can concluded that comprehension of concept with spotlight technique  is good than comprehension of concept with conventional study at SMPN 4 class VIII Muara Bungo

Abstract

Background of this research is a lack of student interest in learning because learning is less fun and student’s grade VIII SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok cemprehension of mathematical concepts still low. The purpose of this research is to know what is student’s comprehension of mathematical concept at grade VIII SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok by using quiz team strategy better than convensional learning. The kind of this research is experimental research, with the research plan is random on subject. The population of this research  is students at grade VIII SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok academic year 2013/2014. Tecnique of analysis data is t-test one side by using minitab. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at α is 0,05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value equal to 0,001 means that α is smaller than 0,05. Hipothesis is accepted in this  research, so that it can be concluded that student’s comprehension of mathematical concept is treated by using quiz team strategy better than student’s comprehension of masthematical concepts is treated by using convensional learning at grade SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of the mathematical concepts that students learn mathematics and results from class VIII student SMPN 1 Pasaman. Students did not dare to ask verbally of subject matter is not understood. This study aims to determine, whether the students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementating a strategy type Questions Students Have better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning of student’s class VIII SMPN 1 Pasaman School Year 2012/2013, and to determined whether the implementation of strategy type Questions Students Have effectively in the learning of mathematics. Type of research is experimental’s research with random design of subject. The research instrument is shaped essay with a final test of reliability is 0,85, and questionnaire research with criteria very effective is 82,26%. Based on hypothesis test results obtained p-value is 0,028 less than the specified  is 0,05, then reject H0. So, it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementating a strategy type Questions Students Have better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning at the level of 95%. Questionnaire data analysis showed that the application of strategy type Questions Students Have is very effective in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The research was by student compherension of math concept at still low in class VIII SMP Negeri 11 Padang. This matter is caused by activity read which is conducted by student in study less maximal as preparation learn and lack of active participation of student in study. This research aim to know what is compherension of math concept of student by applying method of SQ3R accompanied by Student Work Sheet (LKS) from at compherension of math concept of student by applying conventional study at class student of VIII SMP Country 11 Padang. This research type is research of experiment with device of random to subjek. Result of analysis of tes final at this research is obtained by data have homogeneous and normal distribution.Result of final tes of student conducted by hypothesis by obtaining P-value 0,010 and less than  that is 0,05 so that raised to be hypothesis to be accepted by at trust level 95% that is compherension of math concept of student by applying method of SQ3R accompanied by Student Work Sheet (LKS) from at compherension of math concept of student by applying conventional study of class of VIII SMP Country 11 Padang.

Abstract

The centre of learning process by the teachers and lack of motivation to find mathematic concept causes the comprehension math concept of students relatively low is the basic to do this research. The purpose of this research is to know weather the comprehension of math concept by using the Genius Learning strategy with Penemuan Terbimbing method is better than comprehension of math concept by using conventional learning at class IX of state Junior High School 20 Padang TP 2012/2013. This research is experimental research and use random sampling. To analyze the data this research used Mann-Whitney test with Minitab software. The result of hypotesis test is probability = 0,0039 with a = 0,05, so the hypotesis was accepted. So that it concludes that the comprehension of students math concept by using Genius Learning strategy with Penemuan Terbimbing method is better than comprehension of math concept by using conventional learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts was still low and they were less active in the learning process. The aim of this research was to reveal the effect of using Make A Match cooperative learning model on the students’ activities, and to see whether the use of this model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabunagn Kota. This experimental research applied random design toward the subject. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota. The instruments used were observation sheet and a test which had been tested. The data then was analyzed by using one way t-test. The result of data analysis indicated that there was an improvement on the students’ activity in respective meeting. In addition, the result of hypothesis test showed that tcalculated > ttable, therefore, the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Make A Match cooperative learning model could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concepts better than that of the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 2 Panyabungan Kota.

Abstract

The background of the research is comprehension about math concept for the students grade VIII at SMPN 4 Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The purpose of the research to know which the comprehension math concept by used technique Two Stay Two Stray be better than the comprehance math concept by used konvensional learning for students at VIII SMPN 4 Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Type of study was experimental research by random designed on the subject. The instrument of this research is essay, with reabilition is 0,90. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,000 is less than α = 0,05. Based on data description and hypothesis tests can be concluded that conceptual mathematic students comprehension by applying cooperative teaching model in using Two Stay Two Stray’s technique is better than conceptual mathematic students in conventional learning.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the students comprehension of math concept is still low. This research aims to determine students comprehension of math concept by using one to one technique was better than students comprehension of math concept that was taught by using conventional learning, and to know the progress of students’ activity at eighth grade students of SMP 4 N Sutera, district of Pesisir Selatan that apply one to one technique.Type of this research was experimental research by using randomized control group only design.. The instrument used in this research is the ultimate test of students comprehension of math concept. Form of test used was essay with reliability test was r11 = 0,877 was bigger than rt = 0.404. It means the test result was reliable. Technique of data analysis used was T-Test one part the help of softwareMinitab.Based on the data analysis, it was found that both classes were distributed normally and homogeneous. The results of hypothesis test obtained P-Value= 0.040 it less than α=0.05, and based on the percentage of students activity was increased that was taught by one to one technique, with a variety of activities considered in this technique was the students were more active, in which the hypothesis of this research was accepted, so that it can be concluded that students comprehension of math concept by using one to one technique was better than students comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning with confidence level was 95%.
