Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research were motivated by the fear of asking students and issue an opinion on the matter is not yet comprehension and students’ comprehension of mathematical concept that still low. This study aims to assess the development of the math concept comprehension and determine whether the student math concept comprehension  by implementing strategies Domino Game accompanied quiz better math concept comprehension that students using conventional teaching class XI student of SMKN 4 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random to subject. Hypothesis test used Mann-Whitney with minitab software, obtained that P-value smaller than α, 0,0005 < 0,05 so hypothesis is accepting. The researcher concluded that of student math concept comprehension by implementing strategy Domino Game with Quiz better than of student math concept comprehension by implementing conventional learning in class XI SMKN 4 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low and low-ability students who are just waiting for an answer from the teacher. The study aims to determine whether the student understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of cooperative learning strategies Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) better understanding of the mathematical concepts that students applying conventional teaching class VIII SMPN5 Sawahlunto academic year 2013/2014. This research is experimental, with random design on the subject. The instrument used was an essay test and observation sheets. Hypothesis testing using the U Mann-Whitney test with the MINITAB program obtained p-value = 0.0077 is less than α, then reject H0. So it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning strategies Individuaization Team Assisted Individualization better understanding of the mathematical concepts that students applying conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low learning outcomes of students in SMPN 11 Sijunjung as a background of this research. The purpose of this research is to know, what are the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using cooperative learning strategy give respects and matter better than student understanding of mathematical concept by using convensional. Type of the research is eksperimental research. The research population was a class VIII student of SMPN 11 Sijunjung academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, with a sample grade  VIII1 and VIII5. Data collection instrument was a test of understanding of mathematical concept. The test form used is an essay test were 8 items about the reliability of the test is r11 = 0,88. The techniques of data analysis were done to used the t-test a side. Based on hypothesis  testing is obtained because tvalues > ttable. Then the hypothesis in this research was received. It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts that implement the cooperative learning strategy giving respect and matter technique better than student’s understanding concept in convensional learning.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT This research wasmotivated because of the students difficulties in constructing the concepts and lack of the learning sources that facilitate the students to learn independently. To overcome these problems, the constructivis based module was developed for cube, block, prism and pyramid material. This study aimed to develop a valid module based constructivism in SMPN 33 Padang. This type of research was a development research. This study used model of 4-D which consisted of 4 phases: definition, design, development and  disseminate phases. This study was only done in 3 phases, the definition, design and development phase. The development phase was done to see the validity. The needs analysis was done by the teacher and students interview, analysis syllabus and reference books that already have existed. The result showed that the module which had been developed based constructivism was very valid according to the mathematicians and linguists.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the phenomena showing that the students’ understanding on mathematics concept was still low and they had less attention to the teacher’s explanation. This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 26 Solok Selatan registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. By using random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was a post-test. The data collected in this research was analyzed by using t-test. The result of data analysis showed that the value of tcalculated was bigger than ttable. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research is conducted due to great number of students who do not understand yet the concept of mathematics well, it is proven that there are still a lot of students who get low mark. This research is aimed at analyzing the learning activity of the students of class VIII SMPN 23 Padang and finding out whether the comprehension of the mathematical concept of the students by applying the strategy Active Knowledge Sharing is better than the comprehension of the mathematical concept of the students by conventional learning. This is an experimental research.The population of the research is the students of classVIII SMPN 23 Padang, academic year 2013/2014. The sample is taken at random. The instruments in this research are the observation sheet and the comprehension test of mathematical concept.The result of research shows that the activity of the students in learning mathematics using the strategy Active Knowledge Sharing increases. Hypothetical examination uses minitab by examining t, gained P-value = 0,000= 0,05, therefore it can concluded that the comprehension of the student’s mathematical concept using strategy Active Knowledge Sharing is better than comprehension of the student’s mathematical concept by conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and student’s are less interested in learning mathematics. This research aims to determine whether student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies the power of two type better review than the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning eighth grade students SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya  academic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental research, the design of randomized trials on the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test student understanding of mathematical concepts. Data analysis techniques are used to test the hypothesis is not a party with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the results of the analysis of the data found that both classes of normally distributed and homogeneous samples. Hypothesis test results obtained P - value = 0.025 is less than α = 0.05, then reject H0, so the hypothesis in this study received, so it can be concluded that the Student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies the power of two better than the understanding of mathematical concepts student’s by applying conventional learning eighth grade student’s SMPN 3 Lembang Jaya academic year 2013/2014 .

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of the research was all of students in class VIII of SMPN 17 Padang registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. The data of the research was analyzed by using t-test. The result of t-test indicated that the value of tcalculated was bigger than ttable on the level of significance α=0,05. Based on the result of data analysis, H0 was rejected signifying that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 17 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of this research is the lower ability comprehension of mathematical concept for students. The students on the study math are out of less focus during a learning and still there only separated of students that memorize the formula. The purpose of this research is to determine whether ability comprehension of mathematical concept for students by applying active learning strategy type listening team were better than implementasi of conventional learning students for grade IX SMPN 29 Solok Selatan. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized on the subject. The instrument of this research is the comprehension of mathematical concept test. The technique of data analysis is using t-test one side with help Minitab. Based on the data analysis results have sampel class distribution normal and homogeneous to level α. The result that obtained P-value =  0,01 α then this research is accepted hypothesis. Inferential that the ability comprehension of mathematical concept for student by applying active learning strategy type listening team is better than implementasi conventional learning.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The research and development were motivated of intructional materials used in teaching proces, it is not accordance with the characteristics of the students. Textbooks used by student do not understand and facilitate the student to perform self-regulated learning. Solution offered to this problem is the development of realistic based modules for material fractions. This development aims to determine the validity of the module realistic basic for material fractions. This study used model of 4-D which consisted of 4 phases: definition, design, development and disseminate. The stages through which this reasearch is only the third stage of development. Stage development had validated. Module 3 validated by validators of mathematics and Indonesian. Descriptive data were analyzed with validation results are very valid in terms of content and construck. This means Module Based on Realistic Mathematics Learning Material On Class V MIN Korong Gadang has valid to be used as teaching materials.
