Abstract

This research was carried out upon the X grade student of SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. This research wereaimed to find the correlation between psychic vitality and cognitive, correlation between psychological competence and psychomotor competence with cognitive competence on biological learning and the dominant contribution for each independent variable to cognitive competence on biological learning. This is a descriptive-quantitative research with ex post facto. The population of the study is the X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Sragen in academic year of 2004/2005. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. Sample was taken on 40 students within 8 classes. The data was then analyzed by using MultipleLinear Regretions.The result of research showed that there is positive correlation between psychological vitality and cognitive competence on biological learning of the X grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Sragen (r,ty = 0.424 with Fstatistic = 8'325 ) Ftabte (1,38; 0.0, = 4.10). Positive correlation was obtqin betyveen psychomotor competence and  cognitive competence onbiological learning(r,zy=0.346withF,so,;,,ir=5.163 )Ftabte(1,38;0.0s)=4.10. Thereis positive correlation between psychological vitality and psychomotor competence with cognitive competence on biological learning (R = 0.5036 with F,r,;,,i, = 6.285 ) Ftabte (2,37;0.05) = 3.25). psychic vititity is the iidependent variable giving a dominant cantribution to cognitive competence on biological with contribution of O2.St Vo.

Abstract

Lemahnya argumentasi ilmiah mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran telah banyak menjadi perhatian,  terutama   dalam hal mengevaluasi dan mengkonstrak permasalahan dan solusinya.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana profil keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Anatomi Tumbuhan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mendapatkan gambaran keterampilan argumentasi mahasiswa semester 3 di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP UNS melalui tugas tertulis yang diberikan.  Penilaian argumentasi mahasiswa mengacu pada Toulmin’s Argumentation Pattern (TAP) yang memuat komponen claim, evidence, reasoning dan rebuttal.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP UNS masih tergolong rendah, dibuktikan dengan skor rerata claim sebesar 52%, evidence sebesar 42%, reasoning sebesar 15% dan rebuttal sebesar 10%.  Temuan ini akan dijadikan dasar bagi penelitian lanjutan mengenai model dan strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi dan penalaran ilmiah terutama bagi calon guru biologi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the un-integrated experimental and lecture teaching methods. In the un-integrated experimental teaching method, the students are given a concept chart first. The subject matter of this research is the movement on plants.This research used experimental method with randomized control-group only design. The populations are the second grade students of SMU Batik 2 Surakarta, year 2002/2003. The sample is 86 students that taken using cluster random sampling technique. The first data are taken from the value of once grade students of a quarter monthly III. They are used to test the early ability of students. The second data are gotten from post test. Data are analyzed using t-test.The conclusion of this research is that the teaching using un-integrated experimental methods is more effective to increase the achievement of students than lecture method.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to invent the red-algae diversity, its distribution, and the contribution ofphysical environment to to the algae it self and their habitat. Transect method was used with plot area of 1 X 1 m. Study area, 289 m in length, was divided into 3 station with 7 transects and 49 plots. Species diversity, abundance, physical and chemical environmental factors and the pattern of distribution were the focused on.The result showed that 7 species of red-algae were founded, consist of: Corallina sp, Gellidium sp, Laurentia sp, Gigartina sp, Eucheuma sp, Gracilaria sp, and Gymnogongrus sp. The frequency and coverage from the best to the least were as follows: Corallina sp 0,43% and 2,42%; Gellidium sp 0,83% and 19%, Laurentia sp 1% and 10,04%; Gigartina sp 0,83% and 11,8%; Eucheuma sp 1% > and 2,16%; Gracilaria sp 1% > and 9% and Gymnogongrus sp 0,28% and 0,95%. The distribution of each species of red algae was clumped. Physical and chemical environmental factor were driving the distribution of the red- algae. Thus, the habitat was determined on the rocky substrate with some growth orientation toward the sea.

Abstract

ABSTRACT- The purpose of this research is to know the comparison of problem based learning models with Guided discovery learning to activities of students of X grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014. This study was a quasi experimental research. The research design was used post-test only nonequivalent control group design. This research applied problem based learning models and Guided Discovery Learning at experimental group. The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X MIPA 4 experiment group I and X MIPA 6 as Experiment group II. Techniques of collecting data were test and non-test methods. The test method examination test. The non-test method included observation of activities student and documentation.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. This research concluded that there are differences activities of student to application of problem based learning and Guided Discovery Learning of grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi in academic year 2013/2014.Keywords : activities., problem based learning., Guided discovery learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT -  This research aims to find out : (1) the effect of the implementation of active learning strategy; Active Knowledge Sharing strategy towar student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; (2) the effect of students?learning style toward student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; and (3) the interaction between learning strategy and learning style simultaneously toward student achievement in Biology at the grade of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta. Learning process at school which is dominated by teacher causes student  haven't got active role. The different learning styles of the students necessitate the teacher has to use varied and innovative learning strategyes that enable students to be actively involved in learning process. The use of those strategies are expected to be able of optimizing students  achievement. This research belongs to Quasi experiment which use Randomized Control Only Design. The independent variables of this research are learning strategy and learning style, while the students? achievement in Biology is the dependent variable. The population of this research is all student of  Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in Academic Year 2011/2012. The sample of this research are the students of class X-5 as the control group and the students of class X-4 as the experimental group that are taken by cluster random sampling. The data of the students? achievement are completed by test and observation techniques. Learning style is meansured by questionnaires. The analysis technique of this research is two away anava in different cell while the advance analysis is Bunfferoni test. From the results, it can be concluded that: : 1) Active Learning;  Active Knowledge Sharing strategy has significant effect toward biology?s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; 2) Learning style does not have significant effect toward biology?s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X  at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta; 3) There is an interaction between learning strategy and learning style toward biology?s student achievement (cognitive, affective, and psycomotor) of Class X  at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta.   Key Word: Student Achievement In Biology, Active Learning,  Active Knowledge Sharing, Learning Style

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of team quiz  active learning strategy to the result of study biology; 2) the influence of student?s learning asks activity to the result of study biology; 3) the interaction between learning strategy and aska activity to the result of study biology. This research was  quasi experiment research using  Randomized Control Only design. Learning strategy and asks activity were independent variables and student?s achievement of study biology was the dependent variable. The population of this research was all of  XI grade of natural science students of SMA Negeri 1Karangpandan. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA 4 as the control group and students of class XI IPA 3 as the experimental group.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data about the result of study biology collected by use test and observation. Asks activity meansured by using questionnaires. The analisis of this research was anava two away in different cell and the advance test used Bunfferoni test. The conclusion of this research were: 1) Team Quiz active learning strategy had significant influence to the result of study biology in pshycomotor domain but didn?t have significant influence in cognitive domain and affective on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Karangpandan; 2) Asks activity had significant influence to the result of study biology on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Karangpandan; 3) There wasn?t interaction between  learning strategy and asks activity  to  the result of study biology on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Karangpandan. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research are to ascertain: 1)  the influence of guided discovery methode toward scientific attitudes and 2) the influence of guided discovery learning methode  toward student?s achievement in cognitive domain. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using randomized control-group pretest-postest design. Experimental group applied guided discovery method. Control group applied conventional metode. The populations of this research were all of 10th degree students at SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The samples of this research were the students of X2 as control group consist of 30 students and X3 as experiment group consist of 31 students. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The scientific attitudes data was collected by questionaire and the student?s achievement in cognitive domain was collected by essay test. The hypotheses of scientific attitudes data analyzed by t test and the student?s achievement in cognitive domain data analyzed by anacova.  The conclusions of this research are: 1) application of guided discovery learning method had significant effect toward scientific attitudes;  2)  application of guided discovery learning method had significant effect toward student?s achievement in cognitive domain. Abstract

ABSTRACT - This is an experimental research of which result is  implemented in the learning process of Biology subject in the Xth grade of senior high school. The objectives of this research are: (1) to find out kinds of fungal in  taro tape (Colocasia esculenta) according to their morphological characteristics, (2) to  find out the effect of the utilization of the research result of  identification  as a modul-based  learning source towards  the interpreting data skill  of the Xth grade  of SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2011/2012. The implementation of the research result towards biology learning process in the Xth grade of senior high school was a quasi-experimental research.  The independent variable in this research is the modul-based learning source whereas the dependent variable  is  the interpreting data skill.  The population of the  fungal identification in taro tape (colocasia esculenta) was all  the  fungal in taro tape. The population of the implementation of the research result towards the learning process of  fungal  chapter was  all of the students of the Xth  grade of  SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta  Academic Year  2011/2012.  The sample of the implementation of the research result towards the learning process of  fungal  chapter of Biology subject consisted of two classes, i.e. control and experiment class. The sampling method used cluster random sampling. The data collecting technique of  fungal identification research was experimentation and documentation whereas the implementation of the research result towards the interpreting data skill used observation methods. The test of the hypothesis for  the implementation of the research result towards the learning process of biology used t-test. From the research, it can be concluded that (1) there are two kind  genus of fungal in taro tape, i.e. genus Saccharomyces dan genus Aspergillus which identified according to their morphological characteristics, (2) the utilization of the research result of fungal identification in taro tape (colocasia esculenta) a modul-based learning source has a tangible  impact towards the  interpreting data skill  of the xth  grade  of SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2011/2012. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Experimental group applied Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model. Control group applied Conventional model. The populations of this research were all of 10th  degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The samples of this research were the students of X-1 as experiment group and X-3 as control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data was collected essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by Anacova. The research concluded that 1) application of Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model had significant effect toward science process skill, 2) the academic ability didn?t has significant effect toward science process skill, 3) there was not interaction between Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model and academic ability toward science process skills.
