Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: The implementation of disaster preparedness does not only involve the government, but also involves the community and health workers. Nurses have a very big role in preparing for and dealing with the community in the face of a disaster. This study aims to determine the role of nurses in flood disaster management in Kota Baru, Rukun Lima and Nanga panda sub-districts. Methods: This study used a descriptive method, with a total sample of 42 nurses who were selected purposively. The instrument used was a nurse role questionnaire consisting of 8 statements of pre-disaster, 9 statements of disaster during the disaster and 6 statements of post-disaster. Results: From the data analysis, it was found that the role of nurses in disaster management was still in the poor category, namely the pre-disaster 88%, 76% intra- disaster and 81% post-disaster. Conclusion: Nurses who are prepared for disasters can be assisted in physical, mental, and emotional care efforts. As an initial step towards disaster preparedness, the government needs to develop an adequate education, training and financing system so that existing nursing personnel do not become redundant but are maximally useful. Abstrak: Pendahuluan: Penerapan kesiapsiagaan bencana tidak hanya melibatkan pemerintah, tetapi juga melibatkan masyarakat dan petugas kesehatan. Perawat memiliki peran yang sangat besar dalam mempersiapkan maupun menangani masyarakat saat menghadapi bencana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Peran Perawat Dalam Penanggulangan Bencana Banjir di Wilayah Kecamatan Kota Baru, Rukun Lima dan Nanga panda. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 42 orang perawat yang dipilih secara purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner peran perawat yang terdiri dari pra bancana 8 pernyataan, saat bencana 9 pernyataan dan pasca bencana 6 pernyataan. Hasil: Dari analisis data didapatkan hasil bahwa Peran Perawat dalam penanggulangan bencana masih berada pada kategori kurang yaaitu tahap pra bencana 88%, intra bencana 76% dan post bencana 81%. Kesimpulan: Perawat yang dipersiapkan untuk menghadapi bencana bisa diperbantukan dalam upaya perawatan fisik, mental, dan emosional. Sebagai langkah awal kesiapsiagaan bencana, pemerintah perlu mengembangkan sistem pendidikan, pelatihan, dan pembiayaan yang memadai sehingga tenaga keperawatan yang ada tidak menjadi mubazir tetapi berguna secara maksimal.

Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction is determined by the service that one of nurse is a fast response time and precise handling. Respon time can reduce the extent of internal organ damage and also suppress the financing burden. The purpose of this research is to determine the correlationship between nursing response time in providing service and patient satisfaction in Emergency Department of Ende General Hospital. Methode: This is a correlational research conduct with cross sectional approach. The sample amount of 130 patients selected in accidental sampling. The instrument used in this research is the watch to calculate response time and a patient satisfaction questionnaire consisting of 21 statements on the desired patient/family expectations and the perceived patient/family statement after Get service at Emergency Department. Result: The results showed that the response time nurse of Ende Publich Hospitall in the fast category so that the patient is satisfied with the service at the IGD RSUD Ende. Analysis results showed there is a link between the response time of nurses in providing service with the satisfaction of patients with a value of P value 0.00. Conclusion: The sooner the time response nurse will provide satisfaction to the patient. Therefore, we need to improve the quality of human resources and facilities in the IGD space to maintain the quality of service.

Abstract

Introduction: ANC (Antenatal Care) is an examination or supervision of pregnancy to optimize mental and physical health of pregnant women, so as to face childbirth, postpartum, breastfeeding preparation and fair return of reproductive health. Health care is an important component of antenatal care to identify any helath problem as early as possible. The purpose of this study to clarification effect of focus group method to the behavior pregnant women about antenatal care.Method: It’s a quasy experimental research there were 15 respondents taking by purposive sampling. They are pregnant women who visited Puskesmas Maukaro Ende at January until October 2016 who have Commentaries Labor Day on October 2016, and meet some of inclusion criteria. This research use quisionare is instrumental.Result: Based on the result of analysis of FGD method to the respondent behavior about ANC, for knowledge using Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test with significance level α = 0.005 obtained p = 0.015 indicate there is significant influence of FGD method to pregnant woman knowledge about ANC, for attitude significance level α <0,05 got The result p = 0.046 means there is a significant influence FGD method on the attitude of the mother about the ANC while for the action with the level of significance α <0.05 obtained p = 0.013, showed significant influence FGD method on the mother's action about ANC. Conclusion: It can be conclude that FGD Method is effective to improve the behavior of pregnant women which knowledge, attitudes and actions.

Abstract

Introduction: Student satisfaction is to raise student awareness on the quality of system management. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between student-level and human satisfaction, materials, and methods. Method: This research use cross sectional design. Sample 80 respondents, recruited using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using Rank Spearman rank test with significance level of 0,05. Results: Most respondents say, Manipitation, and. Rank Spearman rank test results show no answer between human, Material and management. There is no translation between Man management and student satisfaction, with r = 0.114, and none between material management and student satisfaction, with r = 0.145, and no between strategy and with student, with r = 0.151. Conclusion: resolved both Man management, Materials and How educational institutions, increasingly useful among users of institutions, ie students. Recommendations for further studies are to improve research not only about Man, Materials and Ways, but also about Maney and Markets.

Abstract

Introduction: Malaria is a health problem in Eastern Indonesia, especially in the East Nusa Tenggara. In 2014 there was a mass distribution of insecticide-treated nets but the incidence of malaria is still high. This study identified the physical condition of the house against the malaria occurrences. Methods: A case-control study with 67 cases and 134 control subjects was conducted in the District Wewaria Ende in 2016. The data of the physical condition of the house includes conditions of the walls, floors windows, ventilation, ceiling and lighting were obtained through observation method and subjective measuring. The data were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression. Results: The cases and control groups were comparable in terms of gender (p = 1), age (p = 0.9), education level (p = 0.9) and occupation (p = 0.6). There are three independent variables were identified as risk factors for malaria is the gloomy of lighting (OR 3.64; 95%CI = 1.77 to 7.47), moist floors (OR 3.02; 95%CI = 1.24 to 7.34) and damaged ceilings (OR 2.41; 95%CI = 1.02 to 5.72). Conclusion: The physical condition of houses are risk factors of malaria occurrence.

Abstract

Background: World Health Organization global database on women rarely pay attention to the cleanliness of their external genitalia, resulting in annual vaginal infections 10-15% by candida and 15% vaginal discharge. In Indonesia was a very few study on menstrual hygiene: knowledge and practice among adolescentPurpose: Knowing the influence of counseling on menstrual hygiene: knowledge and practice among adolescent school girls at Koawena, Ende district-IndonesiaMethods: The quantitative research by quasi-experiment design of one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population was adolescent school girls at Koawena, Ende district-Indonesia by total sampling were 17 respondents. Conducted on August, 2018. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using the  paired T- test.Results: The bivariate test analysis showed differences in the level of knowledge before and after counseling on menstrual hygiene: knowledge and practice p-value = 0.034, indicating by increasing of the level of knowledge, would be followed by in a good practice in menstrual hygiene among adolescent school girls at Koawena, Ende district-Indonesia.Conclusion: The health practitioners need to come to adolescent school girls to give health education with the topic of menstrual hygiene: knowledge and practice.

Abstract

This community service aims to empower young women to prevent early reproductive health problems. The methods used in this community service activity are screening, lecture, discussion, simulation and practice. While the stages of problem solving are field observation, problem identification, solution offerings, activity design, implementation, evaluation and monitoring and integration. The results of these activities are age over 14 years (50.0%), menstrual periods up to 4 days (35.5%), changing pads two to 3 times per day (78.9%), height 140 to 150 cm (50.00 %), body weight of 30 to 45 kg (81.6%), the color of milk white mucus (81.6%), the amount of mucus that comes out is small (63.2%) and itching in the genital area is felt occasionally (68.4%). The implementation of community service is expected to produce an outcome in the form of the results of activities in an accredited journal with ISSN.

Abstract

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, health workers are directly involved in many healthcare activities. If the pandemic lasts for a long time, the situation of ambiguity and full of threats will be unimaginable. It will potentially worsen individual emotions, increase work stress, and affect the quality of life of health workers. Objective: To identify relationships between work stress levels and quality of life for health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used in this study, involving 90 health workers in a public health center in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, selected using total sampling. WHOQOL – BREF questionnaire and Stress Scale were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square were used for data analysis. Result: Most respondents did not experience work stress (77.8%) and had a good quality of life (93.3%). There was a significant relationship between work stress and the quality of life of health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic (p <0.001). Conclusion:  Work stress is a significant factor influencing the quality of life. Therefore, interventions to reduce the stress level of the health workers are necessary.
