Abstract

This research executes a working measurement or time study of each operator on three work stations in the finishing line. From the calculation, it is identified that workload of each operator is very low with an average efficiency of 28%. The number of operators can be optimized from nine to three people, so that work efficiency will increase to approximately 85%. To better see the potency of work element repair with no added value, Yamazumi loading chart is created. Meanwhile, to ensure that the process works, a work standardization of process flow diagrams and sequence of work, takt time, and cycle time is implemented, where the cycle time must be set after the proposed improvements are implemented.

Abstract

Due to the demand for motorcycles in height, PT XYZ add product variants kwb coded. PT ABC as a vendor of PT XYZ gets a chance in the manufacture of one component type is the product kwb Right Crank Case Cover. To be able to meet the demand for PT XYZ in the manufacture of products Right Crank Case Cover, PT ABC must invest in Line Machining. The purpose of this study is to determine what machining process will be chosen and the results of the feasibility of investing Line Machining will be done. Method of problem solving carried out by formulating the problem and continued with the search literature study. For data collection and research were observed directly in PT ABC. After that proceed with the processing and analysis of data using several methods used in testing the financial feasibility. The results of this research can provide information about the large value obtained from the machining cost investment plan of Line Machining. Then to provide recommendations to the management company for the feasibility of making investments Line Machining.

Abstract

PT XYZ is the pioneer company in Indonesia and the World which produces bottled tea beverage products. The company always strives to improve quality, especially in minimizing nonstandard products that occur in every process of production. Therefore the company needs corrective action to reduce the variations of non-standard products that occur on each process. In this study, the author uses Six Sigma methodology with an improvement model Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) to analyze process and product performance bottled tea at PT XYZ. By applying this methodology, the process and product performance of the company expected to increase and reach the higher level of sigma.

Abstract

PT ADM has implemented technology in carrying out its business activity. One of it is located in the Production Control department in cooperation with the Corporate Information Technology department, namely Astra Daihatsu Production Planning System. Although the ADDPS application has benefited for company, the benefit gained from this application could not be economically measured. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the implementation of the ADDPS application at company and analyze the amount of benefit obtained from the implementation of the application. Research methods used are literature review, observation, questionnaire, and analytical methods. Data was analysed using Economic Techniques (Simple ROI, NPV) and Information Economics Scorecard, it can be concluded that the implementation of the ADPPS system at company is feasible. This conclusion obtained from the implementation of ADPPS application may be used as a basic reference for other investment projects, for its cost and benefit.

Abstract

In order to achieve competitive advantage and sound business processes, one of the strategies developed is aimed at production process efficiency by eliminating all types of waste within the process.. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method is utilized to detect the sources of such wastes. This research is intended to yield the value added to each of the working elements as well as those working elements that do not give significant product value. The added value is then accumulated by using certain formula to come up with Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE). The PCE figure indicates how well the company performs in terms of its process efficiency. Once this PCE figure is obtained, the sources of inefficiency can then be detailed by constructing VSM sheet and charting the Current State Value Stream Mapping. It can then be clearly identified where the actual efficiency problems lie within the production process. This VSM research can be used by the company as a tool to improve efficiency-related problems to obtain more efficient and effective production process.

Abstract

Accidents often occur in the company. In order to prevent accidents, the company must consider the Occupational Health and Safety (K3) of its employees. This study discussed about K3, especially the calculation and analysis of the value of the Frequency Rate (FR), Severity Rate (SR), and Medical Treatment Injury Frequency Rate (MTIFR) Company from 2009 to downy mildew in June of 2010. The values of FR, SR, and MTIFR obtained varied because of differences in the number of accidents and total working hours of existing employees. After that, an analysis is conducted on the causes of these accidents. Direct cause of the accident consisted of 2 reasons, namely unsafe act and unsafe condition. Basic causes of accidents were 2 factors, namely individual factors and work factors. Individual factors that cause the highest accidents are due to employee motivation blunders and job factors are the highest cause of work accidents are due to poor design of equipment and workplaces.

Abstract

This study aims to find the optimal value of material planning for the company PT Abbott Indonesia. The purpose of this planning is to be able to obtain information efficiently and in terms of computation time and accuracy. Simplex method is a process that aims to find the optimal value is adjusted with a specific objective and a number of constraints. Using this method the result of this design is that with this optimization may yield a maximum profit. So that can help companies make decisions quickly and accurately about the amount of materials needed for each type of production that resulted. The value of the optimum solution is achieved at 4,386,950,750 with each variable X1 144.3651, X2 200, X3 106.6667, 107.2863 and X4

Abstract

The development of the manufacturing industry in a country indicates the development of the national industry. The development can be evaluated by both product quality and performance of the industry as a whole. In enhancing the competitiveness of local products, the government attempted to improve the industrys ability to produce a quality product or component. This research was conducted to determine how domestic manufacturing companies have increased their use of domestic components in producing their products. Results of the determination of the value of the domestic component level (DCL) showed that the company manufacturing clutch uses a lot of local components in the country. This is possible because when setting the value of DCL, the human resources involved in the production provided very much contribution.

Abstract

The bridge construction industry has a unique characteristics compared to other industrial companies, namely its production system should be able to meet increasing demands and very high fluctuations. Limited space in the production line and increasing operational costs have made the management of PT BMI obtaining a more appropriate management strategy for its production system. In this research, the author attempts to implement the 5S principle in production management. This study aims to implement and reveal the effectiveness of production time from the implementation of 5S principle in the Fabrication 1 division. The study is also conducted by formulating the actual problem, followed by literature review and direct observation in the field for calculation of requirements to achieve full implementation of the 5S principle. This study recommends the company to implement the 5S principle to other divisions, due to proven increase in efficiency.
