Abstract

Background: Frequent phenomena found in hospitals are lack of health education, unclearness medical information delivery, poor communication, or even nurses tried to neglect the importance of health information to patients. To identify problems related to the implementation of effective education and communication in one of hospitals in South Sulawesi Province. Methods: The study used qualitative and quantitative. This action research study involved 30 nurses consisting primary nurses and manager nurses in surgical care room, intesive care room, child care room and internal care room. Problem identification and the implementation is conducted. Analysis of data from the results of the distribution of questionnaires with descriptive statistics, while the results of interviews with content analysis. The questionnaires and interview guidelines were based on the 2012 Hospital Accreditation Rules. Results: Based on interviews and questionnaire distribution, Main problems identified in this study were less education and effective communication for patiens and patiens’ family. Moreover, socialization and provision of standard operational procedure (SOP) for education for patiens and patiens’ family was not available yet. Based on the the problem identification, in-house training for implementation of patiens and patiens’ family education and effective communication were conducted for the nurses. SOP about giving information and education for patient or patient’s family were made. Conclusion: It was proven that patiens and patiens’ family education and effective communication contributed to improve the quality of health services.

Abstract

Pelaporan insiden keselamatan pasien (IKP) merupakan hal penting dalam mutu pelayanan Rumah Sakit (RS), sebab pelaporan IKP dapat digunakan pihak manajemen mutu pelayanan RS sebagai koreksi bagi organisasi untuk memperbaiki sistem pelayanan. Program pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan menjadi bagian kegiatan pembelajaran lapangan dengan mengaplikasikan secara nyata teori perubahan dan konsep manajemen keperawatan, sehingga diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada upaya peningkatan mutu pelayanan kesehatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian ini adalah teridentifikasinya masalah dalam penerapan budaya pelaporan IKP, yaitu belum maksimalnya pelaksanaan sosialisasi format dan alur pelaporan IKP, pengembangan skill dan pengetahuan perawat tentang alur pelaporan IKP, tingkat kepatuhan perawat dalam melaporkan IKP, ketersediaan fasilitas sarana dan prasarana, belum optimalnya pendampingan dalam pelaporan IKP dan pelaksanaan proses evaluasi dari pelaporan IKP. Untuk mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi, diperlukan sosialisasi alur dan format pelaporan IKP yang ada di Rumah Sakit, pelatihan/in house training terkait masalah patient safety dalam hal pelaporan IKP, pengadaan buku saku pelaporan IKP sebagai panduan bagi perawat di ruangan ketika membuat laporan insiden, serta melakukan pendampingan dan monitoring evaluasi (monev) dalam hal peningkatan penerapan budaya pelaporan IKP. Kesimpulan: Sosialisasi dan In House Training Patient Safety memberikan pengaruh dalam peningkatan skill dan pengetahuan perawat khususnya dalam hal pelaporan IKP, penyediaan fasilitas sarana dan prasarana memberikan efek yang positif dalam pelaporan IKP di ruangan, pendampingan dan monitoring evaluasi mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan tingkat pengetahuan perawat dalam pelaporan IKP.

Abstract

Abstract. Seaweed is a fishery commodity that has priority to be developed nationally. Takalar Regency is one of the seaweed cultivations centers in South Sulawesi with an average total production of 1 million tons of dried seaweed per year. One of the potential locations for cultivation is Aeng Batu Batu Village, where most of its residents make cultivation as their main source of income. Despite the success in cultivating seaweed, the level of welfare of the people is low and classified as poor. This is because they do not have alternative income while the price of dried seaweed is relatively cheap. Thus, it is important to increase the added value of seaweed through a diversification program, including making seaweed lotion. The activity collaborated with a group of women as partners aimed to provide knowledge and skills on how to make seaweed lotion which is potential as an alternative income. The program was divided into three stages, namely counseling, practice, and mentoring. Lotion was made by a combination of water as the main ingredient with seaweed and selective chemicals as well as green tea essential oil fragrance. Lotion is packaged in a 60 ml plastic bottle labeled product composition. The generated lotion has been used by group members and introduced to residents. After the activity was finished, group members can make and package seaweed lotions independently. The program received a positive response from the local government and partners.     Abstrak: Rumput laut merupakan komuditas perikanan yang mendapat prioritas untuk dikembangkan secara nasional. Kabupaten Takalar adalah salah satu sentra budidaya rumput laut di Sulawesi Selatan dengan total produksi rata-rata 1 juta ton rumput laut kering per tahun. Salah satu lokasi potensial budidaya rumput laut adalah Desa Aeng Batu Batu dimana sebagian besar warganya menjadikan usaha budidaya sebagai sumber penghasilan utama. Meskipun sukses membudidayakan rumput laut namun tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat rendah dan tergolong miskin. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena masyarakat tidak memiliki pendapatan alternatif sementara harga rumput laut kering relatif murah. Dengan demikian penting untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah rumput laut melalui program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan diversifikasi, diantaranya adalah pembuatan lotion rumput laut. Kegiatan yang bermitra dengan kelompok wanita ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan cara membuat lotion rumput laut yang berpotensi sebagai penghasilan alternatif. Program dibagi dalam tiga tahap yaitu penyuluhan, praktek, dan pendampingan. Lotion dibuat dengan bahan utama air dikombinasikan dengan rumput laut dan bahan-bahan kimia tertentu serta pewangi minyak esensial green tea. Lotion dikemas dalam botol plastik 60 mL yang diberi label komposisi produk. Lotion yang dihasilkan telah digunakan oleh anggota kelompok dan diperkenalkan kepada warga sekitar melalui media sosial sehingga masarakat tidak lagi membeli lotion komersial. Setelah kegiatan selesai, anggota kelompok dapat membuat dan mengemas lotion rumput laut secara mandiri. Program ini mendapat sambutan positif dari pemerintah desa setempat dan mitra yaitu semua anggota kelompok dapat secara mandiri membuat lotion rumput laut. Sejauh ini lotion yang dihasilkan telah digunakan oleh anggota kelompok dan masyarakat sekitar tanpa ada keluhan iritasi atau alergi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa penerapan teknologi tepat guna penganekaragaman produk rumput laut untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah rumput laut dapat dikembangkan sebagai penghasilan alternatif bagi anggta kelompok untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga.

Abstract

Pelaporan indikator mutu dan keselamatan pasien merupakan hal penting dalam Peningkatan Mutu dan Keselamatan Pasien(PMKP) di Rumah Sakit (RS) sebab HAL TERSEBUT dapat digunakan oleh komite PMKP sebagai bahan koreksi untuk organisasi DALAM RANGKA memperbaiki sitem pelayanan. Program pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu menemukan masalah yang ada di RS dan mnyelesaikan masalah dengan mengaplikasikan metode problem solving dalam manajemen keperawatan, yaitu identifikasi masalah, menyusun rencana intervensi dan implementasi sesuai masalah yang ditemukan, dengan pendekatan partisipasi aktif dari kelompok yang dibina dalam hal ini adalah perawat di rumah sakit daerah tipe C, baik perawat manajer maupun perawat pelaksana, sehingga diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada upaya PMKP. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian ini adalah teridentifikasinya masalah dalam pelaporan indikator mutu dan keselamatan pasien, yaitu belum adanya profil dan indikator mutu, belum maksimalnya pelaksanaan sosialisasi profil dan indikator mutu dan belum optimalnya pendampingan pengisian format indikator mutu. Untuk mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi, perlu dilakukan penyusunan indikator mutu, sosialisasi profil dan indikator mutu, serta melakukan pendampingan dalam pengisian format indikator mutu. Kesimpulan: profil dan indikator mutu sebagai pedoman pelaporan indikator mutu, sosialisasi memberikan pengaruh dalam peningkatan pengetahuan perawat khususnya dalam hal pelaporan indikator mutu, dan pendampingan dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan tingkat pengetahuan perawat dalam pelaporan indikator mutu.

Abstract

Supplements for pregnant women are one of the treatment strategies that have important benefits in fulfilling the nutrition of pregnant women with poor nutrition in increasing fetal growth. One strategy for handling stunting cases at an early age is with additional interventions that can have an impact on reducing stunting cases. The purpose ofthis study was to systematically review the intervention of pregnant women with supplements and their benefits in preventing stunting. This systematic review was conducted using the 2009 PRISMA checklist. This study used databases namely PubMed, Cochrane Library, Springer Link, Base. The inclusion criteria for this study were English articles with a randomized controlled trial design (RCT) published in the last 10 years. This study found that seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Supplement interventions for pregnant women are divided into three types of supplements, namely lipid-based nutritional supplements (LNS-SQ), zinc supplements, and protein-energy food supplements that can be used as stunting prevention interventions. The LNS-SQ intervention can increase fetal growth but it is necessary to consider the intervention procedure and dose, content of supplements, and side effects of the intervention. The supplement intervention uses a holistic community approach strategy that has a positive impact on stunting prevention.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the microbiological contents of ice used and its effect on mackerel tuna (Auxis thazard) and to determine the amount of microbiological contents of mackerel tuna (Auxis thazard) kept with different sources of ice. This research was conducted in February - April 2020 by adopting experimental design. The microbiological parameters included Total Plate Count (TPC), Coliform, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella, all of which were carried out in laboratory. The data obtained were presented in form of tables and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the three ices used for storage did not contain Escherichia coli and Salmonella, but did contain TPC and Coliform. The highest TPC and Coliform contents of the three sources of ice was found in ice A with TPC value at incubation temperatures of 22ºC: 62 colonies / 100mL and 37ºC: 107 colonies / 100mL. The Coliform value on ice A was also the highest, which was too much to count. In addition, the results showed that mackerel tuna kept using three different sources of ice did not contain Coliform, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella. However, fish that had not been kept in ice (0 hours) and fish that had been kept in ice all contained TPC, with the highest TPC content of 1.5 x 103 colonies / 100g found in fish kept in ice B. The results showed that mackerel tuna kept in those three different ices were still safe for consumption after storage of 6 hours.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a complication often experienced by patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Evidence-based prevention and treatment in DM patients who are at risk of DFU can reduce the global economic burden. Nurses' knowledge plays an important role in screening, prevention, and proper treatment of DFU. This review identifies evidence of nurses' knowledge about the prevention and treatment of DFU and identify factors related to nurses' knowledge. Method: The study applied an integrative review design. The relevant literature were searched from PubMed, CINAHL (EBSCO), Wiley Online Library, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest. The inclusion criteria was articles published in English, peer-reviewed articles, and journals between January 2016 and May 2021, by using keywords; “nurs*”, “diabetic foot*” “knowledge”, "awareness" and "perception". Result: There are 10 articles met the inclusion criteria and eligible to review. Nurses have low knowledge about diabetic foot care and also have limited knowledge about the characteristics and complications of DFU. Factors related to nurses' knowledge about DFU prevention and treatment; training, educational qualifications, work experience, educational institutions, and age. Conclusion: This review revealed that nurses experienced a significant knowledge deficit in several aspects regarding the prevention and treatment of DFU. So that new effective education and training must be developed to address the knowledge gap, one of which is the online training method utilizing telenursing-based electronic learning (e-learning).

Abstract

The incidence of early complications such as skin irritation, erosion, and peristomal ulceration is reported to be quite high. It is important to assess the peristomal skin in order to prevent complications. Valid and reliable instruments are needed to collect assessment data. This integrative review aims to summarize and identify the current literature related to valid and reliable peristomal assessment instruments. An integrative review was carried out using published literature during the search period March 9, 2007-9 March 2022. Database using PubMed, Science Direct, EBSCO, ProQuest, Cochrane Library, and Wiley Online Library. Study selection (both on title/abstract screening and full-text screening) was carried out by two independently experienced reviewers. disagreements were resolved by the decision of the third reviewer. A total of 7 peristomal skin assessment instruments were found from 10 articles passed as the main study. Among the peristomal skin assessment instruments that have good value and process validation and reliability are Ostomi Skin Tools  dan Studio Alterazioni Cutanee Stomali. Peristomal skin assessment as an effort to prevent early stoma complications can be carried out by conducting an assessment using a valid and reliable measuring instrument, and practically easy to introduce.

Abstract

Bakso nyatanya tidak banyak mengandung serat pangan walaupun suda bersumber dari daging hewani. Namun, semestinya tubuh sangat membutuhkan serat pangan tersebut untuk Kesehatan. Senyawa anorganik, yang mungkin memiliki konsekuensi negatif jika digunakan dalam jumlah berlebihan dan hal ini biasanya digunakan sebagai bahan pengenyal pada bakso. Menambahkan serat nutrisi pada produk bakso dan membantu memperbaiki tekstur bakso agar lebih kenyal adalah solusi yang mungkin untuk masalah ini. Penggunaan Rumput laut dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan. Karena kegunaan rumput laut sebagai emulsifier selama proses pembuatan bakso, dengan fungsi tersebut penambahan bubur rumput laut dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah produk bakso yang dipasarkan di sekitar kampus hanya mengandung karbohidrat yang tinggi dan tanpa serat pangan. Solusi yang ditawarkan yakni dengan adanya produk bakso ikan rumput laut menjadi makanan siap makan yang memiliki gizi seimbang dan kaya serat pangan yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence dietary compliance in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) as a whole using the methods used: descriptive study, qualitative study, cross-sectional survey. There were seven articles that met the inclusion criteria. The average age of the sample in the articles obtained ranged from 18 to 70 years. In conclusion, the factors found to influence diet compliance were knowledge factors about eating patterns, physical activity factors, access to information factors, social support factors, motivation and self-ability factors, perception factors, income factors, age factors, and environmental and cultural factors.
