Abstract

The aims of this research is to describe the application of presentation discussion method to improve communication activity of students. Mastering concept had been seen based on the communication activity of students to ask, explain and response in discussion. This research is a classroom action research  with class A  2009 year education chemistry students as a subject. It was conducted in three cycles. Data collection method  used were observation, test and questionnaire. The results showed that students’ activity reflects well on the presentation-discussion method and it had been improve namely in the first cycle had a value of 1.80, second cycle 2.60,  and third cycle  2.67. Overall the presentation-discussion method can improve student mastery of concepts of radiochemistry application matter. Keywords: Method of discussion-presentation, concept mastery and application  radiochemical material

Abstract

This study aims to train the Science Process skills to students on learning Acid, Base, and Salt using the Virtual Lab. The research was conducted on the students of SMA Negeri Cerme Gresik in the year 2017/2018. During the student learning using the virtual lab and guided by Student Worksheet, during the learning process conducted an observation of student activity, after learning conducted test of learning result, and questionnaire of student response to the use of the virtual laboratory. The result of the research shows that during the active learning of the students, the learning result reaches completeness, and the students give positive responses to the use of virtual laboratory as the learning medium of acid, base and salt.

Abstract

Learning materials have been developed in inorganic chemistry elements of transition elements have been developed online. The flow of the development model suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel is 4-D (four D Models). This model consists of 4 stages of development, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate, but in this study it is limited to the develop stage. Based on the results of observations of student activities and student response questionnaires, it can be concluded that the material in the Inorganic Chemistry of the Transition Element is feasible.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a chemical practicum KIT as an effective learning medium to train students' science process skills in scientific method, polar and non-polar covalent compounds, electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. This study uses a 4-D research model which includes the stages of defining, designing, developing, and distributing. However, in this study only limited to the development stage. The results of the research obtained showed that classical completeness in the posttest workmanship on all three materials was 100%. While the increase in learning outcomes aspects of science process knowledge and skills in the three materials are in the category of "medium" and "high". Based on the results, it can be concluded that the practicum KIT learning media is effective for training science process skills in scientific method, polar and non-polar covalent compounds, electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions.

Abstract

Abstract. The research aims to get answers to whether chemistry learning with computer-based games as learning media can create fun learning (edutainment). The study was conducted on students in three high schools in chemistry learning according to plan, during the learning activities were observed by students, before and after learning the learning outcomes tests and student questionnaires were conducted. The results showed that learning activities were 90.4% to 92.0% as expected, 90% to 100% of students stated that learning was fun with games as learning media, and learning outcomes had achieved 93% to 100% classical completeness. These results indicate that the use of computer-propelled games as chemical learning media can create chemical learning that pleases students and can be used by teachers as an alternative to edutainment chemistry learning
